ALI P.O.V
Well this is awkward, I thought to myself.
I didn’t know what to say, and he wasn’t saying anything either; which made this even more awkward. I internally groaned. We went from awkward silence in the car, to being sweet when he held my hand; back to awkward silence, to now eating something sweet. I looked up from my food when Matthew cleared his throat.
I internally sighed with relief, finally he saying something.
“Do you like your ice-cream?” he asked with an awkward tone.
“Mmhmm.” I replied with a smile.
He nodded, accepting my answer. “Good, good.”
Then it came back. The awkward silence.
“Do you like yours?” I asked.
“Oh yes. It&r
MATTHEW P.O.V“So, what did you do after you kissed her?” asked Mikey.Mikey came over to my house this morning, to talk about Ali and I. He didn’t know that I went to see Ali right after I left Sam’s hotel yesterday. So, when he came over, I told him everything and I regret every single second of it. Having to replay the memory and saying it out loud to Mikey, felt even worse; because it was a reminder of my mistake. I was basically mortified at what I did with Ali last night. I wasn’t mortified by the fact that I kissed her. No, definitely not that; it was what I did after I kissed her. Mikey snapped his fingers in front of my face, interrupting my thoughts.“WHAT. DID. YOU. DO. MATTHEW?” he asked again, emphasizing every word.
ALI POV.[BEFORE CALLING MATTHEW THAT MORNING]“Pssst.” whispered a tiny voice.I ignored it, hoping it would go away.“Pssst.” Said the tiny voice getting louder.I stayed quiet and again hoped it would go away.“Aliiiiiii,” now the voice was whining.I groaned and turned over, my back towards the culprit. “Wake up.” Groaned the voice.I woke up when I realized it was Dina’s voice. I kept my eyes closed, hoping she would go and watch tv or back to bed. I’m sure she still has one more day off.“I have to go back to school today, and someone has to take me.&r
Matthews P.O.V“A Date?” mouthed Mikey, as my eyes quickly shot to him.I wanted to face palm myself. I didn’t even mean to say it; it just slipped out. I don’t know why I said it, because the lack of control I’m showing; is far from the type of person I am. I am always cool, calm and collected. Right now, I sound like a bumbling fool. I looked down and felt embarrassed at how uncool I was being.“A Date?” Ali asked, repeating my question back to me.My mouth opened and closed. I did want to go on a date with Ali, ever since last night, when I realized that I was in love with her; but I didn’t want to ask her like this. I wanted to woo her the way a woman should be, when a man is trying to win her love. Besides, I don’t even know if she has any feelings for me. There was that one
Matthews P.O.V“Call her back and tell her that I won’t be able to see her, because I have meetings all day.” I said in a demanding tone.Mikey scoffed and shook his head.“You do want me to die!?” Mikey rhetorically asked me, as if my request, was a stupid thing for him to do. He shook his head “Not going to happen. I am not lying to your mother,” he said emphasizing the word lying.I shook my head at his dramatic attitude.“It’s not that hard; just call her and say what I told you to say.” I said, walking towards my room.“If it’s not that hard, then you do it.” He said following me.I paused mid step.I was not going to do that, my mother is crazy,I
Ali’s P.O.V[BEFORE MATTHEW ARRIVED FOR THEIR DATE]“Dillion, I’m home!” I shouted, as I entered my apartment and quickly headed towards the kitchen. When I entered the kitchen, I found Dillion at the kitchen island, currently in the middle of making himself a bologna sandwich for breakfast. He was almost finished making it, which was a relief, because it saved me time from making it for him, for breakfast. He looked up when he heard me coming into the kitchen. “Your back already. Thank you for dropping Dina off to school,” Said Dillion as he smeared the mayo over the bread.“It was no big deal,” I waved my hand dismissively into the air. “I’ll pick
MATTHEW P.O.V“Dillion you can not be serious right now.” I said, rubbing my temple in irratation.Mikey and I did as he said, and walked into the living room and sat onto the sofa. Dillion walked in right behind us, and sat on the single chair opposite of us. Mikey looked at Dillion with narrowed eyes, then his attention turned towards the gun. He still didn’t say anything.“What are your intentions with my sister?” said Dillion as he wiped the gun with a table cloth.I was close to correcting him on the fact that Ali wasn’t really his sister, since they weren not blood related. Then again, the close bond they have, and the gun he is holding says otherwise. Mikey was still looking at Dillions gun. He didn’t bother to answer the question since he wasn&rsq
Matthews P.O.VAs Ali and I stepped into the store, we told the lady at the desk our names, and she led us towards two open seats. Ali saw the aprons hooked onto the wall for the customers to wear. She grabbed two from the wall and handed one to me. I looked around the room and noticed there were other people wearing aprons and also waiting for the class to start. As I looked at the paintings that hung on the wall, I still could not place why this store was so familiar. In the front of the room there was a small stage that was made for the instructor. It had one big blank canvas and everything else a painter needed. I have never been here before, and even though the apartment building is not far from here; I still don’t remember seeing this place. I started thinking to myself, maybe this was one of those moments when people get déjà vu. I turned towards my side and looked at Ali.
Matthew P.O.V“This was a long time ago, so I won’t blame you if you do not remember,” Cassie said to me before she continued on with her story.“Okay,” was all I replied, while I waited for her to speak.“Two years ago, my little brother got sick and needed a heart transplant.” We didn’t have the money for the transplant, even though we did have health insurance.”“Health insurance can help, but not almost all the time.” Ali mumbled sadly.Cassie nodded “and we were praying that somehow, we’d get help raising the money for it. Both my mother and my father did overtime at work, just so that we could make more money in order to pay for the heart transplant. I was still attending college at the time, so I decided to work a part time job; hoping it wil
