Not alone

Riley stood up without touching her breakfast when a voice stopped her.

"There you are, i thought you must be still sleeping," Carter said and sat in the chair which is beside the one she just emptied.

He looked at her still full plate and raised a questioning eyebrow. She just shrugged her shoulders in response.

"Looks like you are not hungry. But i am super hungry. Sit and chat with me while i eat my breakfast" he said before her plate in front of him.

Riley sat back on her chair and looked at him quietly.

Carter saw how sad and lonely Riley looked when she was sitting alone at the table. The maids who were supposed to attend her are whispering among themselves, which is not at all a whisper. Even he can hear what they were talking about. They were discussing how Riley dressed up, how unkept and wild her hair is and she is looking more like a man than a woman.
