After the initial shock Justin received, he belatedly understood that Carter and Riley are making fun of him. He never saw Carter in a jovial mood like this. He was always serious and work bound. So when he considered Riley's suggestion, he thought his Alpha is being serious.

"You scared me" he accused Riley, who made a funny face at him.

Carter is happy to see Riley smiling. Recently she was under a lot of trauma which impacted her emotionally. He was beginning to get worried about her. Now he has to find out the man who is stalking her and they can all rest peacefully.
