Macy's POV
The party had started, and the crowd poured in. It was a grand event, filled with so many important people, and it made me wonder just how rich the Torres family was.
Well, that’s a question for another day.
“Now, aren’t you the most gorgeous woman under this roof?”
Derick’s voice snapped me out of my thoughts. I smiled at his words. He always knew how to make me happy.
“Thanks, babe.”
“Come on, dance with me.” He took my hand and led me to the dance floor. We started moving to the rhythm of the music.
I noticed several women staring at Derick, their eyes filled with longing, while they glared at me like I’d stolen something that belonged to them.
I ignored them and focused on enjoying the moment with my man, who couldn’t take his eyes off me.
We danced for a while until my bladder demanded relief. Excusing myself, I headed to the ladies’ room.
When I returned to the party, I felt a pair of eyes watching me. I couldn’t figure out who it was, but the feeling made my skin tingle.
It was like I was being drawn to someone—but who?
Derick found me just then, and I couldn’t have been happier to see him. He leaned in to whisper something in my ear, making me giggle.
Then he gave me a quick kiss and pulled away, his gaze fixed on someone across the room.
Following his line of sight, I spotted a tall man in a tuxedo standing with his hands in his pockets, staring right back at us.
Derick grabbed my arm and led me toward the man.
“Liam! Bro, I missed you. How have you been?” Derick exclaimed to the man, who remained silent, his eyes fixed on me with an unreadable expression.
My throat tightened as his intense gaze made me gulp hard.
“I’ve been good, brother,” the man finally replied after a long pause, glancing at me briefly.
“I want you to meet someone special,” Derick said, taking my hand. “This is my girlfriend, Macy.”
Mr. Gorgeous looked at me without a flicker of emotion.
“Nice to meet you,” I said, extending my hand.
He glanced at it but didn’t move. Instead, he turned around and walked away, leaving me standing there with my hand still outstretched.
What the hell just happened? Why did he leave like that? Embarrassment washed over me. Even Derick looked confused.
“I’m so sorry about that, babe. I think he got distracted.”
“You’ve been talking about your brother for so long, and I’ve been looking forward to meeting him. And this is how he acts?” I said, frustration evident in my voice.
“I apologize on his behalf. Something must be wrong; he doesn’t usually behave this way.”
“I think he doesn’t like me, Derick.”
“Don’t think like that. I know my brother, and he’s not like that. Just relax, okay?”
Liam’s POV
I stormed out of the pack house, my chest tight with hurt.
My wolf was howling in my head, begging me to go back to her, to claim and mark my mate right there.
But that was the last thing I could do now. My mind was a whirlwind of emotions, and it took every ounce of strength I had to hold my wolf back.
The bond pulled at me, urging me to take her in my arms and kiss her. But doing that would destroy my brother and confuse my mate, who had no idea who I was to her.
I ran to the woods behind the house and shifted into my wolf form, letting Rage take control.
I retreated to the back of my mind, giving him free rein. I didn’t know how long we ran, but it felt like hours.
Exhausted, I finally stopped. After shifting back, I grabbed some clothes hidden in the woods for emergencies and made my way back to the pack house.
Entering through the back door, I went straight to my room. After a long shower, a knock sounded at my door. I knew it was my mom.
“Come in, Mom. It’s open,” I called out.
She stepped in, her expression a mix of concern and curiosity. “Son, where have you been? You missed everything.”
“I’m sorry, Mom. I had some business to take care of,” I lied.
“Are you okay, son? You don’t look well.”
“I’m fine, Mom. Just a bit stressed, that’s all.”
“If you say so. Come join us for dinner since you missed the party.”
“All right,” I said, kissing her on the forehead before she left.
Heading to the kitchen, I froze when Rage surged forward for a moment.
There she was, sitting at the table with my family, having dinner.
What the hell was she still doing here? I thought she would’ve left by now.
“Son, are you okay?” Dad asked, and all eyes turned to me—including hers.
No, I wasn’t okay. I wanted to scream it, to make everyone understand the storm raging inside me.
My eyes briefly flashed the color of my wolf, but I quickly masked it.
Her intoxicating scent filled the room, making my body respond in ways I couldn’t control. I hated it, but I loved it too.
Our gazes locked, and I smirked. Her ocean-blue eyes drowned me, pulling me deeper into the bond I was trying so hard to resist.
“All right, let’s eat before the food gets cold,” Mom said, breaking the moment.
Chapter fourMacy's POVThe silence in the dining room was so thick you could cut it with a knife. I couldn’t eat anything on my plate. I just sat there frozen, his eyes watching my every move like a hawk. I felt so small under his gaze.“Liam, have you met Macy? Derick’s girlfriend,” Mr. Torres finally broke the silence.“Yes, I have,” he replied, looking straight into my eyes. I shifted uncomfortably in my chair, hating the attention on me.“You ran off earlier when I introduced her to you, Liam. Now Macy thinks you don’t like her,” Derick said to his brother without hesitation.“Derick, I had other things to take care of. Your girlfriend shouldn’t assume things,” Liam responded, irritation clear in his voice.“She’s not assuming, Liam. That’s how you made her feel.”The brothers’ conversation was starting to heat up, and the last thing I wanted was for them to argue because of me.“It’s okay, Derick. Maybe we just misunderstood,” I said to my boyfriend, who looked annoyed. Derick
Liam’s POVRage was losing control every second, urging me to snatch our mate and claim her in front of everyone. In my 29 years, I’ve never felt so helpless. She was right there, yet I couldn’t touch her or feel her.The mate bond called out to her, pulling me to claim her. It took everything in me to stay in control.Last night, I dreamed of us together, with our pups running around the pack house. We looked so happy. It was everything I’ve ever wanted. So why would the moon goddess punish me like this? I’ve always waited for my mate, dreamed of her, and now, when she’s finally here, she loves someone else. And the worst part? That someone is my brother. It hurts more than I can describe. I know he loves her—I’ve seen it. He even told me once over the phone that he found his heart in someone who wasn’t his mate and didn’t care about finding one. I laughed at him then—who wouldn’t want their mate? But now I’ve seen how he looks at her. Derick has never looked at anyone like that
It was already sundown when I came back home. I strolled into the pack house, dirty and tired. Rage was still on high alert for his mate. At this point, all I wanted was to sleep.“Son, how are you? Are you alright? You scared us,” Mom said, her voice laced with concern.“I’m alright, Mom. I’ll be in my room,” I replied quickly, not stopping to explain. As I walked away, I heard her whisper to Dad. “Something is wrong with my son, Ken. I can feel it. He’s not himself. He looks like he’s in pain.”“Calm down, Grace,” Dad said, trying to soothe her. “Why don’t you go talk to him? He might open up to you—you’re his mother, after all.”“You’re right,” she agreed. “I’ll go to his room now.”Mom walked into my room without hesitation, relieved to find the door unlocked. The room was dark, the only light coming from the moon filtering through the curtains.“Liam? Liam, son, where are you? I just want to talk,” she called softly.“Go away, Mom. I don’t want to talk to anyone,” I muttered fro
Derick's POV“Okay, Dad, Mom, you’re freaking me out. What’s the matter? Is my brother okay? Why can’t I go into his room?”“Well, he’s sleeping, son, and we don’t want you to wake him. That’s why, right, Ken?”“Uh, yes, your mother’s right, Derick.”“Are you sure? You both look tense, and you’re acting weird.”“I’m worried too. I mean, Rage taking over his body like that— I just don’t get it. He always controls his wolf. First thing in the morning, I’m talking to him. I need to know what’s wrong.”“Derick, please don’t ask what’s wrong with him. Just let your dad and me handle Liam.”“What are you saying, Mom? Liam’s my brother, and I have every right to talk to him and be concerned.”“We know that, but let us handle it. Your brother is fine, I promise.”“Are you sure? You’re acting like something’s up, and I don’t like this feeling.”“We’ll let you know if something’s wrong, Derick.”“If you say so, then. I’m off to my room.”Mom and Dad are hiding something from me—I can feel it. I
Macy’s POVI woke up sweating and panting—the same dream again! This has to stop. I can’t keep dreaming about my boyfriend’s brother. It’s been happening so often, and it’s driving me crazy.Shaking off the thoughts, I got out of bed and got ready for work. It’s been a week since the party, and I’ve been busy as hell.Once I was ready, I quickly left the house. At lunchtime, I decided to eat at the restaurant across the street from my office. As I walked in, I noticed a black car parked out front, but I didn’t think much of it. After finishing my meal in less than an hour, I returned to work. When the workday ended, I headed to the parking lot. That’s when I noticed the same black car again. A strange feeling crept over me, like I was being watched or followed. It made my skin crawl. Trying not to panic, I quickly got into my car and drove off.Liam’s POVI couldn’t help it—I needed to see her. Rage wanted her so badly, and it was getting harder to keep him under control.“Liam, yo
Our wolves ran as fast as their legs could carry them. The awful stench of Rogues hit my nostrils as we entered the pack’s territory. Rogue scent was like rotten flesh—the worst smell imaginable. We reached the pack house just in time. My father and brother were both in their wolf forms, fighting off these vicious-looking wolves. Without wasting a moment, Greg’s brown wolf leaped forward, grabbing one by the throat. He was fighting alongside my father. Greg shook his head fiercely until the Rogue went limp.“I need one alive,” I mind-linked before Rage, my wolf, attacked the Rogue fighting with my brother. Rage tore into its neck, ripping it apart with no mercy. The air reeked of blood and death. We had killed all the Rogues except for one, who was now locked up in the pack’s cells for questioning later. But I had more pressing matters at hand. Two of my men had been badly injured in the attack. They were taken by surprise, and it nearly cost them their lives.“Where were you, Lia
Chapter tenDerick's POVYesterday’s incident shook me to my core. It had been years since an attack on the pack, and none of us were prepared—least of all, me. I know I owe Liam an apology for the way I spoke to him in front of everyone. I panicked, and not having him there when it all went down terrified me. Liam has always been the one born for moments like these—the perfect son to lead and inspire. As for me, I’ve never been interested in pack responsibilities. It’s not that I don’t love the pack. They’re my family, and I’d do anything to protect them. But I have my own dreams—dreams of marrying Macy and leaving Waterfall one day.I sat in the living room, waiting for Liam to return. Mom mentioned he was attending to business in the neighboring packs. Hopefully, he’d be back soon.About thirty minutes later, Liam walked through the front door, looking exhausted. Greg was with him. Without hesitation, I got up and approached them.“Liam, welcome home. Can I talk to you?” I aske
Chapter elevenLiam's POVI was busy with paperwork that morning, attending to matters that required my urgent attention. I was still in my office when I heard Mom’s voice through the mind link.“Come, let’s eat breakfast together, son. I made your favorite,” her sweet voice echoed in my head.“I’m almost done, Mom. I’ll be down in a few minutes,” I replied. When I finally got to the dining area, Dad, Derick, and Greg were already seated.“It’s about time, Alpha! I’m starving, and Mrs. Torres here made us all wait for you before we could eat,” Greg teased.I glanced at Dad and Derick, who were both smiling at me.“Mom, why do they have to wait for me to eat?” I asked, raising a brow.“Son, I just wanted us all to start eating at the same time. It’s no big deal—they’re just being dramatic,” she huffed, rolling her eyes.“Alright, that’s enough. Let’s eat,” I said, taking my seat.As we ate, I addressed Dad and Greg. “Dad, Greg, and I have some business to handle in the city. We’ll be
Daryl stood over the fallen form of Vercus, his chest rising and falling heavily as the storm of battle subsided. Blood and sweat dripped from his brow, but his heart pulsed with a strange sense of peace. Vercus’s body lay still, consumed by the dark magic he had once wielded with pride. The power of Jeldon’s spirit, the malevolent force that had bound him, had been shattered by the strength Daryl unleashed, channeling the light of Yago Dir Gunther, his great ancestor. The battlefield was eerily quiet now, with the once fierce and chaotic battle reduced to hushed murmurs of the survivors. Vercus’s corrupted Lycans had either fallen or fled in the face of the united packs. For the first time, Daryl felt the weight of destiny lifting from his shoulders. He had done it. He had saved his family, his pack, and the Lycan race from the curse that had haunted them for generations. But the victory was bittersweet. The ground was littered with the fallen, and though they had won, the cost o
The night sky was thick with tension as the pack gathered at the outskirts of Star Crust territory. The air buzzed with the anticipation of battle, the final confrontation that would decide the fate of both the Waterfall and Star Crust packs. Daryl stood at the front, his posture strong but his mind racing. He had trained for this moment, but nothing could have fully prepared him for the weight of leading his people into war.Beside him were his father Liam, Greg, Asher, and other allies they had managed to rally, including some hesitant members of Star Crust. Mara stood near Asher, her face a mix of concern and determination. Aria was nearby, her eyes fierce despite the danger looming ahead. They all knew what was at stake. Vercus was determined to destroy them, and he had a dark weapon — Jeldon's spirit, bound to his will through black magic. As they marched forward, the sounds of snarls and growls echoed from the Star Crust forces ahead. Gordon stood tall beside Vercus, both me
The atmosphere at Waterfall was thick with anticipation. The once peaceful packhouse, usually filled with laughter and camaraderie, now buzzed with tension as the leaders gathered in the great hall. Liam stood at the head of the room, his face stern and lined with determination. Greg, a trusted pillar of strength, stood beside him, while the rest of the pack leaders murmured amongst themselves, their unease palpable, yet their focus unwavering. They had all felt the tremors of what was coming, but now, the true scale of the threat was fully revealed.Liam cleared his throat, commanding silence as he began to speak. “We’ve received confirmation of what we feared most. Gordon of the Star Crust pack isn’t acting alone. Vercus is behind it all, manipulating events to create chaos and eliminate us.”The room fell into a heavy stillness as Liam’s words sank in. Vercus’s name carried a dark weight, a legacy of evil and domination. A wave of disbelief rippled through the pack, but there wa
As Daryl, Leo, and Aria maneuvered through the dense foliage of the Star Crust territory, the air was thick with tension and the distant sounds of combat echoed ominously in the background. Each step felt like a countdown, the urgency to escape palpable as they moved closer to freedom. Their hearts raced, not just from the fear of being caught, but from the knowledge that they had to protect not only themselves but their families as well.Suddenly, they stumbled upon a clearing where a group of Gordon’s men were gathered, their brutish laughter filling the air as they counted their weapons. Daryl's blood ran cold. They had to fight their way through if they wanted to reach Waterfall.“Stay close,” Daryl whispered urgently, gripping Aria’s arm. Leo nodded, his jaw set with determination.Without a moment’s hesitation, Daryl charged forward, fists clenched. The element of surprise was on their side, and he was determined to make the most of it. “Attack!” he shouted, launching himself
The oppressive darkness of the room felt like a living entity, wrapping itself around Daryl, Leo, and Aria as they sat huddled together. The weight of their captivity pressed heavily on their shoulders. Daryl’s mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, each one more chaotic than the last. He couldn’t shake the recent revelations about his family’s history—the legacy of betrayal and blood that twisted through their veins like a venomous snake. Vercus's malevolence wasn’t just a personal vendetta; it was a curse passed down through generations, a darkness that sought to obliterate everything in its path.Daryl clenched his fists, feeling the sting of anger mix with despair. How had it come to this? The thought of Vercus wanting to eliminate him and Aria, by using Gordon? To snuff out the light of hope they represented, fueled his resolve. He would not allow history to repeat itself. Not on his watch.Suddenly, the door swung open with a creak that echoed through the room, and Gordon stepped
Author POVThe tension in the pack house was palpable, an electric charge that crackled in the air as Liam and Greg gathered with their family. Fear mingled with anger as they processed the abduction of Daryl, Leo, and Aria. Every moment felt like a ticking clock, with the fate of their loved ones hanging in the balance.Liam paced the room, his hands clenched into fists, frustration bubbling just beneath the surface. “We need to act fast. Every second we waste gives those bastards an advantage.”Macy, his beloved mate, placed a comforting hand on his shoulder, her eyes brimming with tears.“They’re strong, Liam. We’ve trained them well. They’ll find a way to protect themselves. We have to trust in that.”“Trust is not enough!” Liam snapped, shaking off her touch. “I should have foreseen this! The Star Crust Pack has always been a threat, and now they’ve made their move. We can’t afford to be blindsided again.”“Liam, blaming yourself won’t help our children,” Greg interjected, his
Author POVAlpha Liam roared angrily after hearing the devastating news that his sons and their mate had been kidnapped. The weight of his rage threatened to crush everything in its path as he and his beta, Greg, hurried to the scene of their disappearance. The area where their car was parked by the roadside felt eerily quiet, the air heavy with an unsettling tension. They could still catch whiffs of their scents—faint but unmistakable.“They must have drugged them to carry them away,” Liam seethed, his voice laced with fury as he surveyed the surroundings. His instincts screamed that time was of the essence.“You think Vercus did this?” Greg asked, brow furrowing in concern.“I have no idea who orchestrated this,” Liam replied, frustration threading through his words. “The fact remains that we have numerous enemies at hand, and this could be anyone.”Liam's orders were clear: his men were instructed to secure the area, waiting patiently behind as they combed through the site for a
Liam’s POVThe tension in the pack house was thick, palpable, and impossible to ignore. My children, especially Daryl, were furious at Elaine and me for keeping the truth from them all these years. The prophecy, Daryl’s true lineage—these were secrets we had held for their protection, but the time for secrecy had passed.I had known this day would come, though. Sooner or later, the truth always finds its way into the light. For years, we’ve shielded Elaine and Daryl from the rumors that circulated about the Waterfall Pack harboring the lost princess and her son. Vercus Gunther, the evil Lycan king, knew better than to strike here—at least until now. We’d heard whispers over the years that Vercus had gone into hiding, but I knew better. He was always plotting, always looking for ways to destroy his only grandson before the prophecy could be fulfilled. My spies had confirmed that the king was rarely seen, a ghost among his people, leaving behind only the scent of death wherever he we
Aria's POVDaryl’s emotions hit me like a tidal wave, overwhelming through the bond we shared. My mate was a mess—sad, angry, confused—all swirling together like a storm I couldn't calm. The mate bond allowed us to feel each other’s emotions, whether joyful or broken, and right now, Daryl was shattered.I tried reaching out to him through the mind link, but he’d shut me out, a wall firmly erected between us. Leo had done the same.Gigi whimpered inside my head, longing for our mates. She could feel their turmoil, especially Daryl’s. He was the most affected, and I couldn’t bear the thought of him suffering alone. Leo, too, felt distant through the bond, and that worried me even more.I rushed downstairs, my heart pounding, hoping to find them. As I entered the living room, all eyes turned to me. Luna Macy and Elaine sat quietly, tears glistening in their eyes as their mates, Alpha Liam and Beta Greg, consoled them. The room was heavy with tension and sadness. Mara had already fill
