Part two: Chapter 27

GAZELLE

The sound of knocking aroused me up from a sleep I didn't even know I had fallen into. I sat up and rubbed at my eyes, cleaning off the remnants of sleep that clung to my lashes.

"Who is it?" I asked when the knocking repeated.

Fear was already taking root inside of me, making me cringe with every second of silence that passed.

"Your presence is requested at the administrative building. We thought that something might have happened to you seeing as you didn't respond after all of the announcements that traveled via speaker through the school." A stilted voice, that gave no clue to the gender of the messenger, answered.

"I'm coming." I called back in a hurry.

My body let itself off the bed and I moved with haste out of my dorm room and flew down the stairs. The sooner I got to G-block, the sooner I could halt the increase in the amount of punishment I was bound to receive.

As I walked into the building, a voice called over the speaker. "Room 21."
