Chapter 104

CHLOE'S POV

I didn't want to go to the cafeteria. I wasn't ready to sit with Lorraine or the twins or any of those assholes.

I just wanted my peace. So the school garden was the perfect place to be.

I sat on the high path pavement, eating my apple idly while thinking about my life.

Sure things were starting to look better in the last couple of weeks. I had school, a friend, and my family, somewhat.

But things were going to change very soon. A little sooner than I would have preferred.

“You come here too?”

That voice startled me. When I looked up, it felt like I forgot to breathe when the curly-haired haired stared at me.

It was his usual distant gaze. He looked like he could actually see me this time.

“Ian,” I breathed.

“And you know my name too,” he mumbled. I noticed his cheeks were slightly turning pink.

“I'm sorry I don't quite know your name,” he rubbed his palms against his jacket before offering them to me.
