It had been a beautiful funeral. Jaden’s speech was moving, his voice breaking as he shared heartfelt memories of their dear friend. The pack members hugged each other tightly, tears streaming down their faces but also smiles, as they remembered Gemma’s vibrant spirit. It was a day to honour her life, and that’s exactly what they did.

Once the service was over, Kara, Aurora and their mates all came back to the house with Pax, Hunter, Jaden and I. We were going to have a BBQ before they all left to head home. I was going to miss them. I couldn’t help but feel sad that our time together was coming to an end. Despite the unfortunate circumstances that brought us all together, it had been wonderful having my friends here with me.

Megan … I hadn’t invited over. I’m glad we had cleared the air, but I needed a moment to process what she told me. “You alright Stace?” I hear Hunter’s gruff voice pull me from mixing drinks in the kitchen. “What? Oh yeah, I’m fine,” I give a fleeting smile
