As we approached the packhouse, vibrant flowers lined the steps, their petals dancing in the breeze. The air was filled with soft murmurs and sniffles as we walked inside. My heart ached when I saw Gemma’s mom crying, her dad standing by her side in comfort. Leaving Jaden’s side, I went over to them - they had always treated me like a second daughter.

As I approached, they huddled together in the back of the redecorated conference room, heads bowed and clasped, hands trembling.
