92 A Hybrid Baby

Sibyl’s POV

Lowa took me running around the capital all day. As a werebird, she was naturally cheerful and good at running, like a rose in full bloom. I can feel her enthusiasm as long as I'm near her.

"Lowa... Oh... I can't run..." I Gasp, my hands on my knees, my heart pounding in my chest.

"You're too weak. In our country, women are trained from an early age. We're all soldiers." Lowa stopped running and looked at me with a smile.

The hair on my forehead was wet with sweat. I looked up, panting, and looked at her.

"We have one last stop. Do you want to see your friend? Oh, your fiance."

Manolo? I almost forgot him. "Where is he? Is he okay?"

Lowa raised an eyebrow at me. "He's fine. He must be enjoying my special gift to him right now."

"A special gift?"

"You'll see," said Lowa, bending her thumb and forefinger into a circle, putting them in her mouth and whistling loudly.
