The sun was barely peeking over the horizon when Ashley awoke, her body stiff from the restless sleep. Amelia was still curled up beside her, sleeping deeply after the harrowing events of the night before. Demon was outside, sharpening a blade, his expression hard as he prepared for the inevitable confrontation with Adonis.

Ashley sat up slowly, her mind still racing with thoughts of what lay ahead. The peace they had found in the small cabin felt fragile, like a thin veil stretched over a storm waiting to break. She knew it was only a matter of time before Adonis found them—and when he did, there would be no turning back.

She quietly stepped outside, the crisp morning air biting at her skin. Demon glanced up from his work but said nothing as she approached him. His silence was heavy, but it wasn’t unfriendly. It was the quiet of a man who knew the weight of the fight that lay ahead.

“We don’t have much time,” he finally said, his voice low and grave. “Adonis will come for us soon.”

MA Ch 1 Ashley sighed as her sister Amelia barged like thunder into the room with her face beautifully done with makeup resembling a Barbie doll. It was a time, her grand entrance was expected by her sister. “Oh my gosh, guess what?” Amelia was yelling, holding her hands over her face, widening her eyes with undying excitement. “There’s another awesome party that’s so great blah blah, and it’s thrown by a famous blah blah, and we’ve got to go, No No No.” Ashley flipped the page of her notebook. I must be awarded if there is a guessing game. You came here for that.” She added and rolled over the bed with her mess of school spread around. Amelia narrowed her eyes at her sister after speaking her true intentions in loud. Amelia has a party every Friday. She tries to get Ashley involved every single time, although she always refuses, giving excellent excuses. I came because it’s not an awesome party, but a life-changing party, and lastly, it’s not thrown by a famous blah blah blah. B

MA Chapter 2 It was a novel experience for Ashley to sway her hips in public but tried to enjoy herself with unknown music buzzing. Soon she decided to rest. She was struggling to breathe normally. She walked over to the bar wiping the droplets of sweat from her forehead and Amelia just rolled her eyes, watching the low stamina of her sister but deep down she was happy at least she was trying her best to keep up with the environment which was unfamiliar to her. “Seriously!” Amelia shouted, rushing over to her sister as Ashley sat down at the corner sipping a soft drink. “Let’s go back. We might catch some hottie.” She pulled Ashley with her hoping she could grab the attention of someone. “You go back and catch some hottie. I’ll just be here drinking coke.” Ashley held the table tight and pulled out her hand from Amelia, showcasing her utter disinterest by holding her drink high to cheer her up. “Coke? What are you, five? You are already eighteen and who cares if not?” Ameli

Yes, they were rich, but they tried to live moderately and both her parents were too friendly with their business partners and nice to have any enemies. ‘Who could be that heartless?’ she thought. Her parents were confused about the kidnappers. “Sorry to inform you of this bad news, miss, but we need your cooperation to help find your sister.” The second officer was the one to speak up this time. Ashley nodded, looking between her parents and the policemen. “Ashley, how could you leave your sister like that?” Mrs. Gregory accused, holding her arm tight. “She said she’ll sort her ride back home on her own and I should use her car. She’s the one who left me on my own at the party, and I had no other choice but to leave without her.” Ashley tried to defend herself. Mrs. Gregory only shook her head and continued crying while mustering some things about why she allowed them to go to that party. “Miss?” one officer called, and she directed her attention back to the cops standing in

Ashley saw their duties was about to change, and the guards went to freshen up. She took the chance and sneaked out of the major premises. She hailed the cab and hurried to the address. She checked her phone for the third time before concluding that she was in the right place; at least according to what the address said. This message gave her a tiny hope of seeing her sister again. She was desperate, and every passing second felt like a burden over her soul, imagining the condition her sister could be in. The place was abandoned and by night she was sure the place will be filled with bandits. She furrowed her brows as she looked at the old buildings, some already collapsed while some were about to. “Of course, the place will be shady.” She said out loud, trying to keep herself steady over the uneven ground filled with boulders. “Were you expecting a reservation at a five-star hotel?” She groaned as she turned to leave. How could she be so stupid to come here? What if it was a t

Situation was fucked up for everyone, they were doing which they never imagined. Plotting against Adonis was difficult, especially when they saw the poverty together, but the changes he experienced while rising to this position made him worried about his friend who is everything for him. He started the engine, then he drove for fifteen minutes before stopping at an enormous gate. Her breathing was escalating as the car was heading on the premises. Her curious gaze was wandering everywhere, watching the amount of security and bodyguards holding gigantic guns in their hands, roaming on the balcony and teres of the mansion. At every step was clutching her heart, but the face of her beloved sister pushed to any extent. The guild she was accumulating inside her was too much to care about her safety. She was determined and composed sooner and she thought to herself. “Here is the gate. Go in alone. Remember, the guards are going to interrogate you.” Damon warned her, slowing down the car

“Ye-s” She forced her words out. “Have a taste of what you just brought. I have to be sure you didn’t poison me.” She jerked her head at him, shocked by his words. This guy is something else, she thought, and she went closer to have a taste of the food and the drink. “One rule you must abide by, you don’t leave without my consent.” I took a fork by the side of his plate, took a bite, and drank juice from his glass. She was terrified, yet ate it confidently. When she was done, she stood there waiting for him to give me orders. She stood for over 30 minutes and he still hadn’t touched his food. She gave Damon a signal of which he noticed. He whispered something in Adonis’s ear. “You can go,’’ he muttered, his gaze still on his phone. He ordered her to keep his gaze on his phone. Finally, she screamed for joy inside of her, her legs screamed of freedom, and she walked away. She rushed to her allotted room to have a bath and arrange for my things. "Are you alright?” Chole asked, watching Ashley gazing outside the window with a defeated face. He threw her towel on her bed and walked over to her. "Yes, I am" Ashley flashed her best convincing look turning to face her. "I'm just missing my parents,'' She added with a small smile, it wasn’t true nor false. It was her first time leaving her parents. "Same here I miss my parents so much,” Chloe mumbled, taking a huge lump of air. Her shoulders dropped down and she sat over her bed staring at the floor. "They died in a ghastly motor accident.” Her diminishing sound was filled with pain as if there was no light there to follow anymore. "It's just me and my little brother Ethan, I have to come here to work as a maid to earn money for our living.” A small smile formed on her lips when she mentioned her younger brother. He was the world for her, his education and better life were the aims of her living. "I am so sorry about that.” Ashey felt guilty reminding her old poking me

But where would she go? The forest was vast, but Adonis was always a step ahead, always finding her no matter how far she ran. “Move!” Demon growled through gritted teeth, his gun trained on Adonis. His voice snapped Ashley out of her shock. She grabbed Amelia’s hand, pulling her sister behind her as they tried to edge farther down the incline. “Run, Ashley!” Amelia urged, her voice trembling with fear, but it was Demon who answered, his voice low and dangerous. “He won’t stop unless you face him.”Ashley swallowed hard, her heart racing as she glanced back at Adonis. The tension in the cabin thickened as the three prepared to leave. The forest outside remained eerily quiet, the early morning light casting long shadows across the trees. The cold air bit at Ashley's skin, but the chill she felt wasn’t just from the temperature. Something felt off. The uneasy silence gnawed at her nerves, every second stretching painfully thin. Amelia had stayed quiet since their conversation, her face a mask of worry. Demon moved with purpose, checking their supplies and ensuring they left no trace behind. He was methodical, calm, but there was a storm brewing behind his dark eyes. Ashley couldn’t shake her sister’s warning from earlier—trust was a fragile thing, and in their world, it could shatter in an instant. She had seen Demon’s loyalty to Adonis firsthand, but she had also seen the cracks in his resolve. She had barely slept, too haunted by everything that had happened.Next to her, Amelia stirred in her sleep, her face soft and peaceful for the first time in what felt like days. Ashley watched her sister for a moment, a surge of protectiveness welling up inside her. Amelia had been through so much—caught in a whirlwind of violence and betrayal that neither of them had asked for.And then there was the baby. Ashley’s hand instinctively moved to her stomach, her fingers gently pressing against the small swell. The baby was a part of her now, a tiny life growing inside her, a symbol of everything she wanted to protect. But it also tied her to Adonis in a way she couldn’t escape.
