GLENDA'S POV

I couldn't take my gaze away from the rising sun. The big orange hue as it seemed to sit on top of the water in the distance, took my breath away and held my attention. The cool breeze caused gentle ripples over the water as the rays from the sun seemed to color the water. It was such a beautiful sight.

The view I had just witnessed was beautifully ingrained in my memory. Slowly, I turned my head to look at Maurice. A mix of conflicting emotions filled my mind.

"Why did you bring me here?"

He shrugged his shoulders as he seemed to pounder on his reply.

"Don't you like it?" His gaze held a tinge of doubt. I hoped he didn't regret bringing me here.

"No, no, no. I love it!." I bowed my head shyly. "I just wonder why you thought of this."

He still doesn't respond to my question. His gaze turned brooding as they rested over the waters before he spoke.

"Your mother used to love it here. She would always stop here before leaving." He smoothly changed the topic.

My eyes softened
