GLENDA'S POV

I was surprised when I heard Maurice say he intended to take me on the trip. That would mean I was going to be meeting his family as his wife! The idea coursed excitement and anxiety through me. I wondered what it would be like to see where Maurice grew up and what made him into the man that he is.

I stood by the kitchen counter mulling over these thoughts. Absent-mindedly, I stared fixated at nothing as I seemed to be looking out the window. I was so lost in my head, I didn't hear when someone joined me in the room.

"Don't think because you get to travel with him just to attend his brother's wedding makes you HIS WIFE! It doesn't change anything!"
