GLENDA'S POV

I didn't know what got into me that made me question Maurice so much. Thankfully he didn't get crossed with me. This was all Nana's fault for setting me up with Maurice.

I strode down the hall, darting my eyes back and forth. I wanted to avoid Nana. I knew she would be asking me what Maurice and I agreed on and I haven't thought of what to say to her.

Nana would not buy the 'it's a surprise' excuse. That was only a means to escape Maurice's principal study and those piercing eyes of his.

"Why are you sneaking about like a thief?"

I froze and slowly turned around to come face to face with Lucy. Because I had been so caught up in my mission to avoid Nana, I had not recognized her voice.
