CHAPTER THIRTY- ONE: A SCANDAL

The next day, Levi left the house. He dropped only a single note on the table in the living room for Mother and me to inform us that he would be travelling out of control for a business conference, but I knew it was a lie. Either Levi was trying to get away just so he would restrategize and then think of more ways to bring me down and get Savannah to himself.

Or he wanted to leave the city until the scandal died down, and people wouldn't remember him as the man who lost his temper and almost hit a woman. Either way, it was better that he wasn't around too, because this way, Savannah would have the time alone that she needed—time away from Levi and his drama.

Work was just as boring without Savannah there again today, but I gave her the week off because people at work would recognise her as the woman in the video. She didn't do too well with gossip, and that is why we have been keeping our relationship a secret from others and the public.
