CHAPTER THIRTY- FOUR: BE MINE FOREVER

After the full-course meal, we had some grapes and banana pudding, as well as some vanilla cake for dessert, and then we finished the rest of the wine. Fortunately, the wine didn't contain much alcohol, ensuring Roman could safely drive us home.

After dinner, the two of us watched the stars, and Roman told me more of his childhood stories while I did the same thing. We also took turns throwing stones into the water; it soon became a competition, and Roman ended up winning. He cheated because his victory was solely attributed to his exceptionally long hands.

Soon it was almost 10 p.m., and we had so much fun that we didn't even know that time was well spent until I checked it. Then we got straight to packing up. I helped him fold the two blankets while he packed the plates, wine glasses, and cutlery back into the basket before dumping the bottle of wine into the trash can beside the river.

And then it was finally time to go. We loaded everything we had brought back into the
