Ryder

I gazed at the garden, through the tiny window close to my desk, lost in my thoughts. The sun was beginning to descend, casting orange-gold hues in the sky. The beauty from the window wasn't enough to ease my mind.

Nothing was going as I had expected. Nothing.

I got up, pacing back and forth, trying to gather my thoughts. The two men seated across my table reeked of sweat and exhaustion. Same with me.

I slumped into my chair, exhaustion etched on my face as I debriefed with Zane and Deron in my study. "So, the guard is still missing, and the search party has turned up nothing?" I asked, rubbing my temples.

Zane nodded. "That's right, Alpha Ryder. It's like he vanished into thin air."

Deron spoke up, "I'll keep tracking him, Alpha Ryder. I'll gather a few men and set out to find him tonight. It would be easier to pick up his scent faster if we didn't have a lot of people on the field. I promise you Alpha, I won't rest until we find him."
