Chp 17 Pt. 2 Escape Attempt

“Come this way.”

I pull Accalia to the left and begin rushing down the narrow passageway. I follow the scent I know to be Aspen’s, taking all sorts of twists and turns in hopes of finding the exit or him. My heart is pounding as I quietly rush down the hall, desperate to get Accalia to safety.

I take a right turn and stop in my tracks. Dead end. I stare at the wall for a few second before I turn around and go left. The scent is leading me to the right, but I can’t go any farther so I’ll need to find a way around. I am getting more irritated as I move farther and farther away from Aspen’s scent. A part of me wants to return to our cell and start from the beginning, but I fear it’s already been discovered that we escaped.
