“So this is the daughter of the great Davina,” says a voice.

I look up towards the door and see a rather sickly looking woman leaning against the wall. Her hair is matted and dry and she looks like she hasn’t slept or eaten in days. Her eyes are dark and cold, like she has no light in them.

“Who are you?”

She scoffs as she brings a bottle full of an amber color liquid to her lips and gulps down the last bit of it.

“It figures you don’t know who I am though I have been living in your pack for the past year.”

“You are Brandon’s mother?”

“Yes and the mate of the wolf your family killed.”

“I don’t know what you are talking about.”
