Josh (Mia's father) point of view
My wife demanded that I borrow money from Bryan, my boss. Rukky needed money to deal with a serious situation she had gotten herself into, and my wife encouraged me to take out a loan. And now he wants any one of my daughters in exchange for his money. Well, I won't mind handing him Mia in exchange for my dear life. After all, she's doing nothing in my house except cursing issues. I'm sure my house will be wonderfully tranquil after she departs. The cab driver stopped at my house, and I paid him before heading inside. "Where is Mia?" I questioned as soon as my wife Linda opened the door. I didn't have much time to spare to avert Lord Bryan's wrath. His rage is horrible and hardly worth writing about. "Won't you get inside your house, before thinking of asking about that wretched girl?"She gritted her teeth with spite. I completely understand my wife. She must be astonished by my sudden inquiry regarding Mia. Before today, I would never do it. After all, I had Rukky to care for. “Oh, Linda! Linda, you will not grasp what is happening. My life was almost destroyed."I grumbled as I sat down in the worn-out two-seater coach that serves as my living room. "Then spill it out." "I'm very curious already," she said, peering at me. "You know, the money I borrowed from my boss to sort out that issue Rukky had back then, you know the loan has been due for pay back for months now." I began talking to her, attempting to remind her of why we had taken out a loan from Lord Bryan in the first place. "Yes, I understand. Of course, I wouldn't forget something so vital. So what's his issue with it? Can't he wait until his money arrives and we pay him off?"She enquired casually. "Oh, Really? Do you honestly believe he wasn't going to ask for his money? Come on, Linda, it is impossible. After all, it was a loan, and we were expected to repay it.” I muttered, trying not to get irritated at her casual demeanor. "So? We don't have the money right now; what do you have in mind? What are we supposed to do merely to pay him off? Should we sell ourselves merely to settle with the so-called Lord Bryan?"She asked cynically, and I scoffed loudly. What exactly is wrong with this woman? I tried to control my nerves before responding to avoid a heated argument. "He's not interested in what I'm proposing or your foolish snarky questions. Rather, he wants one of my kids in exchange for his money," I said quietly, hoping no one would overhear us. I observed how her jaw dropped open in wonder. "What? Whose daughter are you planning to give him? You better get this into your brain, Josh; my daughter isn't going with you!" She yelled without letting me tell her who I had already picked. Wow, this woman is very theatrical! "Could you please remain calm and let me tell you who I have chosen? If you must know, I will be delivering Mia to him.” I spoke, and I could see a smile spread across her face. "Really?? Then that's wonderful news," she smiled, and I gave her a quick glance before returning my attention to the floor. "She'd be out of our lives forever, Josh," she said, and I just palmed my brow in thinking. "I'm really worried, Linda."I couldn't help but express my worries. "Huh, why?" She enquired, probably astonished. Because she knows I don't care for Mia. "I am scared about Bryan, Linda. He acts like a devil, killing without hesitation. Mia is not like that. Linda, she is still an innocent child. How will she cope with him? With a heartless monster?"I poured out my concerns. Linda's look, however, indicated that she cared less about it. "Stop it, Josh. What's your problem? She'll deal with him! That should not be your problem. You've already committed to it, so there's no going back.” "Unless you want to lose your life just to save hers," she said sharply, and I moaned in despair, knowing I wasn't going to die just yet. "Where is she? I have to take her to him before he gets angry," I said, scanning the house from my seated position. "Oh, I chased her out of the house because she burned Rukky's beautiful gown. The one you purchased for her last week. But, I'm sure she'd return soon because she has nowhere else to go..." The quiet knock on the door halted her words. "I'm sure that's her," she said before approaching the door and pulling it open. I was also hoping that it was her. "Mom, I apologise for burning Rukky's robe. Although I didn't do it," I heard Mia's pleas and hurriedly approached them. "Just come in and get freshened up. I said, "You're going out with me," and she went in, smiling broadly, while Linda scoffed. "Where are we going, dad?" She asked, and I looked at her, forcing her to shut her mouth. Linda shouted at her, "Go get ready and stop asking stupid questions!" She scurried away. * * "Dad, i'm ready" We turned on hearing her voice, and I cross-checked her clothes from head to toe, nodding in satisfaction. Her clothing isn't particularly nice, but this one looks nicer. "You look like someone better right now," Linda replied mockingly. “Let's go! There's no more time to waste," I said as I went out, and she followed behind me. "Farewell, little fellow," Linda smiled cheerfully as she watched us board a cab. I didn’t answer, focusing instead on what awaits us. What could I possibly say? The cab ride was long and silent. As we neared Bryan’s Mansion, I heard Mia say beside me. “Dad, the drive is so long. Where are we going?” she whispered, probably scared I’d yell at her.Mia Point of View This is the first time I haven't been beaten after being sent out of the house. Other days, I'd be beaten before being allowed to enter the home. Maybe this was my lucky day; this was also the first time I'll be going out with my father. It appears that my day has been both pleasant and unpleasant. I'm thrilled and intrigued about where my father is leading me. He paid the cab driver who had driven us to our destination, and we got off. "Dad, where's this?"I enquired when he rang the bell outside the huge structure. I was excessively curious and couldn't keep my lips quiet. "Why can't you just be quiet for once? "Just keep it shut!"He ordered, and I kept my mouth shut to avoid infuriating him. He has never been courteous to me, so why would I expect him to answer my questions? The gate opened, and two big men stepped out, their expressions menacing. They're so large and tall that I look like an ant beneath them. "Josh, are you finally here? L
Mia’s Point of View The moment I looked into his eyes, it was like being hit by a thunderstorm. They were so dark, so cold, that I could feel them pierce right through me. His gaze was intense, unwavering, like he was studying every detail of my existence. I flinched and quickly lowered my eyes, scanning the floor, desperate to avoid the weight of his stare. How can someone be this handsome and yet have eyes so devoid of warmth? How could anyone have eyes that could freeze a person in place? The more I thought about it, the more I wondered: Is he even human? I couldn’t help but think about his eyes. They were dark pools, deep and suffocating, as though they held secrets too dangerous for anyone to uncover. I had to shake myself out of my daze. What was wrong with me? Why was I so mesmerized by someone who radiated nothing but power and coldness? Suddenly, I heard the sound of footsteps retreating. I dared a quick glance up, just in time to see him standing by the window, his
Mia I didn’t see it coming. In one swift movement, I was pinned against the wall, his hand clamped tightly around my neck. Panic surged through me as I clawed at his hand, gasping for air. “Please,” I rasped, my voice hoarse and weak. “Please, I can’t breathe.” His grip didn’t falter. His eyes bore into mine, dark and merciless, as if he was toying with the idea of crushing the life out of me. My chest burned, my vision blurred, and I could feel the tears streaming down my face. I couldn’t think straight. Was this it? Was he really going to kill me for slapping him? Why did I even have to slap him in the first place? I’m just so dumb and annoying! I shouldn’t have done it! My strength waned, and I was on the verge of passing out when the sharp sound of a ringing phone broke through the suffocating silence. His hold loosened just enough for me to drag in a ragged breath, my lungs greedily gulping the air. He glanced at the phone, but his attention quickly returned to me.
Mrs. Johnson Chapman “Alicia, are the meals ready yet? Bryan will be here any moment, and you know how he gets when he’s hungry,” I asked the head cook, who’d been with our family for over ten years. Her once jet-black hair was streaked with gray now, showing how much time had passed.“Oh yes, Mrs. Johnson. The table is all set,” Alicia replied with a warm smile.“Good. Once he arrives, send a maid to fetch me immediately,” I instructed, sitting on the edge of my bed with my phone in hand.“Yes, ma’am,” she said, bowing slightly before walking out of the room.I couldn’t help but feel a little anxious. Bryan hadn’t been home for months, and with each passing day, his father grew more impatient. I knew how stubborn my son was, but I also knew how to handle him.A soft knock on the door pulled me from my thoughts. “Ma’am, Sir Bryan has arrived,” a maid informed me.I straightened up immediately. “I’m coming,” I replied, heading toward the living room.As I entered, I spotted him l
Bryan Gosh, my mom can be so annoying. Sending a girl I know nothing about to my mansion? That’s not happening. I don’t care what games she’s trying to play, but there’s no way I’m getting married to some random woman. Who the hell does that? Was marriage some sort of joke or something? Damn them all. It’s never happening and I’m going to make sure of that!“Philip,” I called out immediately, taking the first step of putting a stop to every one of their plots.I’m not some baby to be shoved around by his parents. If only they knew what I’m currently made of, they would stop pestering me for some family inheritance and shove it down Dave’s throat in a hurry.Philip, my best bodyguard, always rode in the car with me. The other four followed behind in another car. Due to my call to him, He turned slightly from the front passenger seat, giving me his full attention.“Yes, Lord,” he replied, respectful as always.“Switch on my other phone and turn this one off,” I ordered, ha
Mia“Miss, Miss, please wake up. It’s morning already.”I groaned softly as the maid’s voice tugged me out of my peaceful sleep. For the first time in forever, I’d slept like a baby. The mattress beneath me felt like clouds, and the pillow cradled my head in perfect comfort.“Uhm, good morning,” I mumbled groggily, rubbing my eyes and stretching my arms. The maid stood patiently, giving me a small nod. “You need to have your bath now, Miss,” she said, walking toward the bathroom.I frowned at her words, still a little disoriented. Do they really expect me to get used to this? For them bathing me or more? Never!“Wait, are you going to run the bath for me or something? Perhaps, bath me up again today like I’m some little disabled child, huh?” I asked, a hint of sarcasm in my voice. She didn’t answer, instead she disappeared into the bathroom leaving me in awe, staring at the door intently. A moment later, I heard the sound of running water. This is so Unbelievable and unaccep
Mia’s POVI flinched, stepping back instinctively as his cold, piercing eyes bore into mine. The weight of his gaze pinned me to the spot, and my heart raced erratically.I tried to look away, my eyes darting to the floor, but the tension in the room was suffocating.I felt a wave of panic rise within me, and for a fleeting moment, I wished I could disappear—or at least melt into the floor. Why did I enter his room? Why didn’t I just admire the trophies from afar?My knees wobbled as I anticipated an outburst, but he said nothing.Instead, his silence felt more dangerous than anything else he could’ve done.“Philip!” His voice, cold and commanding, shattered the silence, sending a shiver down my spine.I blinked, confused. Why is he calling Philip? Is it to clean up the mess I made?Philip entered the room almost immediately, his expression neutral, though his eyes betrayed a hint of pity as they flicked toward me.“Yes, Lord Bryan,” Philip replied, bowing slightly.Bryan stood still,
Bryan’s POVI clenched my fists, barely containing my frustration. Gosh, this woman is relentless.I thought switching off my phone would keep her at bay, but no—here she was, standing in my house uninvited.“Come on, Bryan, there’s no need to ask how I found your address,” my mother said, her tone too cheerful for my liking.“The important thing is that we’re here now, right, Fiona?”She nudged the woman standing beside her—the same irritating, overly made-up woman she was pushing as my so-called future wife.Fiona smiled coyly, and I suppressed a groan.Of all the women in the world, my mother had to choose this one. Her persistence was grating, but I wasn’t about to let her win.“Listen, I don’t—”“Later, son,” my mother interrupted, waving dismissively.“Why don’t you two spend some time together? I’ll just be outside admiring my son’s beautiful mansion.”With that, she nudged Fiona toward me and left the room, clearly satisfied with herself.I scowled after her retreating figure,
Bryan stepped out of the elevator and into the grand hotel lobby, adjusting his jacket as he walked toward the entrance. The space was buzzing with soft music, elegant chandeliers casting a golden glow over the pristine marble floor. His eyes immediately landed on Lincoln and Raymond, who were already waiting with the man assigned to take them around.Lincoln, as usual, was the first to react when he saw Bryan approaching.“Damn, bro!” Lincoln grinned, stepping forward and giving Bryan’s outfit an exaggerated once-over. “You look like you just walked straight out of a fashion magazine. Our manager really outdid himself this time.”Raymond, standing beside him with his arms crossed, nodded in agreement. “For once, I gotta admit he got it right. These outfits are fire.”Bryan smirked slightly. “You just realized he knows what he’s doing?”Raymond chuckled. “Man, I always knew, but you know me, I love to act like I don’t. Gotta keep the man humble.”The guy who was supposed to take t
The moment Bryan and his crew arrived at the luxurious five-star hotel in Mexico, they were escorted to their respective rooms. The hotel was nothing short of extravagant, with marble floors, floor-to-ceiling windows that offered breathtaking views of the city, and soft golden lighting that gave the entire place a warm, elegant feel.Bryan pushed open the door to his suite and stepped inside. The room was spacious, with a king-sized bed neatly made with crisp white sheets, a seating area with plush sofas, and a minibar stocked with expensive drinks. A large flat-screen TV hung on the wall opposite the bed, and a door led to an en-suite bathroom that had both a bathtub and a glass-enclosed shower. He tossed his duffel bag onto the bed and stretched his arms. It had been a long flight, and even though he wasn’t one to complain, he was grateful to have some time to rest before the concert later that evening. Just as he was about to sit down, his phone vibrated with a message.“Get s
Mia was deep in sleep, curled up comfortably under the thick blankets, when a soft but persistent knock sounded at her door. She stirred slightly, frowning as she tried to cling to sleep, but the knocking came again. Groaning, she sat up, rubbing her sleepy eyes before muttering, “It’s open.”The door creaked open, and Mrs. Chapman stepped inside, looking as lively as ever. She was already dressed, her hair neatly pinned up, and she had a warm smile on her face.“Wakey, wakey, my dear. It’s morning already,” she said in a cheerful tone.Mia yawned, stretching her arms lazily before smiling. “Good morning, Mom.”“Good morning, sweetheart. Now, hurry and freshen up. We have shopping to do today, remember?”Mia’s sleepy brain took a moment to catch up, but as soon as Mrs. Chapman mentioned shopping, her eyes widened slightly. She remembered their conversation the previous night—how they had planned to go shopping for the babies today.“Oh, that’s right,” Mia murmured, rubbing her stom
The moment Bryan left, Mrs. Chapman turned to Mia, stretching her arms as she sighed.“The sun is already setting. We should go inside before it gets too cold,” she said, brushing her damp hands against the towel draped over the pool chair.Mia, still busy licking her ice cream, let out a small hum. “Do we have to? It’s so nice out here.”Mrs. Chapman gave her a look. “Yes, we do. You’re not planning to sleep by the pool, are you?”Mia pouted but reluctantly got up from the poolside, grabbing a towel and tying it around her waist. “Fine, fine. But I’m taking my ice cream with me,” she said, taking another spoonful as they walked inside.Mrs. Chapman chuckled. “At this rate, you’ll end up getting a brain freeze.”Mia grinned. “That’s a risk I’m willing to take.”As they entered the house, their conversation shifted to random topics.“You know,” Mrs. Chapman started, wiping her damp hands with a smaller towel, “I’ve been meaning to ask—have you given any more thought to that charity ga
Bryan stepped out of the car as soon as they arrived home. Phillip, ever efficient, was already by the door, opening it for him. Without a word, Bryan got out, his sharp eyes scanning the surroundings. As expected, the maids and bodyguards stationed around the compound immediately greeted him.“Welcome back, sir,” they said in unison.Bryan, however, barely acknowledged them. He simply strode inside, his mind already preoccupied. The moment he stepped into the living room, he paused.Empty.That was unusual. Normally, either Mia or his mother would be lounging on the couch, watching TV, reading, or waiting for him. But today, the house was eerily quiet.Frowning, he set down the shopping bag and looked around.“Brenda,” he called, his deep voice echoing through the space.Almost instantly, one of the maids hurried out from the hallway. Brenda was a young lady in her 20’s, efficient and quick on her feet. She wiped her hands on her apron as she stopped before him.“Yes, sir?” she ask
Bryan stepped out of the car as soon as they arrived at the studio. The tall building stood before him, its glass exterior reflecting the afternoon sun. He adjusted his jacket and walked in, his usual cold expression in place. As expected, Raymond and Lincoln were already inside. Raymond sat on a chair, scrolling through his phone like he had all the time in the world, while Lincoln paced around, talking animatedly to no one in particular. The moment Bryan entered, Lincoln’s face lit up. “Finally! Our superstar is here.”Bryan shot him an unimpressed look. “You talk too much.”Lincoln gasped dramatically. “Wow. No ‘hello’? No ‘what’s up, Lincoln’? Just straight to an insult?”Raymond barely looked up from his phone. “He’s right. You talk too much.”Lincoln placed a hand over his chest. “You both wound me.”Bryan ignored him and dropped his bag on the floor. “Let’s start practice. We don’t have time for this.”Lincoln sighed. “Fine, fine, Mr. No-Fun. But you have to admit, my energy
The morning light streamed through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the room. Bryan stirred awake first, blinking a few times as he adjusted to the brightness. He turned his head to the side, and there she was—Mia, still asleep, her face peaceful, her hair slightly messy from last night. A lazy smile spread across his lips. She looked so beautiful.Bryan sat up slowly, stretching his arms before slipping out of bed quietly. He headed to the bathroom, freshened up, and got dressed in a black fitted shirt and matching pants. By the time he was done, Mia was still deep in sleep. He smirked. She had every reason to be exhausted after last night.Walking back over to the bed, Bryan pulled the covers down slightly, exposing her bare shoulders. His fingers brushed lightly over her skin before he leaned in and began trailing soft kisses along her shoulders, moving up toward her neck.Mia stirred, letting out a soft moan in her sleep. Bryan smirked against her skin but didn’t stop.
Bryan had just stepped out of the bathroom, a towel wrapped around his waist, his hair damp from the shower, when a soft knock came from the door. He ran a hand through his wet hair before walking over and opening it.One of the maids stood there with a polite bow. “Sir, Ma’am Mia asked me to let you know that dinner is ready.”Bryan exhaled, rubbing his jaw. “Alright. Tell her I’ll be down in a minute.”The maid nodded and left, and Bryan turned back into the room, shaking his head slightly. He got dressed quickly, throwing on a black T-shirt and sweatpants.Just before heading downstairs, his cell phone rang out. He picked it up staring at the unknown caller ID .He deliberated it to pick it or let it slide. After a while, he chosen the neither and it ranged and stopped.“If you want to reach me, perhaps you should call my personal bodyguard.” He mumbled to himself as he began making his way downstairs. When he reached the dining room, the table was already set, and both Mia and
Mia and Mrs. Chapman were still laughing when a deep, familiar voice interrupted them from behind.“So, I’ve been forgotten just because my mother is here?”Mia and Mrs. Chapman both turned toward the doorway, and there stood Bryan, arms crossed, his signature smirk tugging at his lips. His tall frame leaned casually against the door, but his eyes held that piercing sharpness, the kind that always made Mia’s heart race.Mia blinked, then let out a soft chuckle. “Forgotten you? Never.”Mrs. Chapman, sitting comfortably on the couch, let out a knowing laugh. “Oh, come on now, Bryan. I was just keeping your wife company. You know, making sure she doesn’t get too bored while waiting for you to finally come home.”Bryan smirked, stepping further into the room. “And here I thought she was supposed to be resting, not laughing all day.”Mia rolled her eyes playfully and stood up, walking toward him. As soon as she was close enough, she wrapped her arms around his waist, pressing her face a
