Mia’s Point of View

The moment I looked into his eyes, it was like being hit by a thunderstorm. They were so dark, so cold, that I could feel them pierce right through me. His gaze was intense, unwavering, like he was studying every detail of my existence. I flinched and quickly lowered my eyes, scanning the floor, desperate to avoid the weight of his stare.

How can someone be this handsome and yet have eyes so devoid of warmth? How could anyone have eyes that could freeze a person in place? The more I thought about it, the more I wondered: Is he even human?

I couldn’t help but think about his eyes. They were dark pools, deep and suffocating, as though they held secrets too dangerous for anyone to uncover. I had to shake myself out of my daze. What was wrong with me? Why was I so mesmerized by someone who radiated nothing but power and coldness?

Suddenly, I heard the sound of footsteps retreating. I dared a quick glance up, just in time to see him standing by the window, his back to us. His arms were crossed tightly behind him, and his posture was almost military, as if he were used to being in control of everything around him.

I took in his appearance—his build was imposing, like that of a warrior, but it was the gold around his neck and wrists that caught my attention. He wore an abundance of gold, a heavy, glittering weight that seemed to be a part of him, making him look even more untouchable.

Who is this man? What is he to my father?

Before I could dive deeper into my thoughts, a voice cut through the room—sharp, cold, and demanding. “You’re late, Josh!”

I froze. The voice sounded so authoritative, so full of power. Could it really belong to the man in front of me? The same man whose cold eyes had almost paralyzed me just moments ago? I glanced up at him again, and the realization hit me hard. It is him.

My father, Josh, seemed unfazed by the harsh tone in the man’s voice. He bowed his head slightly, his entire demeanor subservient. “So sorry, my lord. Something came up, and I was delayed for a while.”

Lord?

The word echoed in my mind, and my brow furrowed in confusion. Who was this man that my father—someone who had never shown respect to anyone—would refer to as “lord”? Was he a prince? A king? What kind of power did he wield? And more importantly, why was I here, witnessing this strange interaction?

I couldn’t keep the questions at bay. Why couldn’t anyone just explain things to me? Why was I left in the dark about everything that was happening?

The man, still facing the window, didn’t respond immediately. Instead, he gave a dismissive wave of his hand. “Leave.”

Josh didn’t hesitate for a second. He turned immediately, and without looking at me, walked toward the door. I wanted to follow him, wanted to grab him and demand answers, but just as I took a step, the man’s voice stopped me cold.

“And where do you think you’re going?” His voice was low, but it sent a chill down my spine.

I turned around, my heart pounding in my chest. Was he talking to me? I stared at him, trying to make sense of the situation. He asked us to leave. Wasn’t that what we were doing?

“I asked Josh to leave, not you!” His words came out with a sneer, venomous and sharp.

I flinched, my entire body going rigid. His words didn’t just stop me—they rattled me. I couldn’t understand why he would single me out like this.

“Huh? Not me? Why?” I stuttered, my voice barely above a whisper. I looked at my father, hoping he would provide an answer. But he didn’t meet my eyes. He couldn’t. His face was hard, expressionless.

What was happening? Why didn’t he look at me?

The man—Lord Bryan—took a slow step toward us. His eyes never left me, and I felt the weight of his gaze like a physical force pressing down on me. “Didn’t you tell her she now belongs to me?” he asked, his voice so cold and matter-of-fact that I felt my stomach drop.

My father’s face paled. “I… I haven’t, Lord. There wasn’t enough time to do that,” he mumbled.

Time? What time? What was going on?

I couldn’t believe what I was hearing. “Belongs to him?”

My heart began to race, and I felt my legs shake. Was this a joke? Was my father joking?

But when I looked into my father’s eyes, there was no trace of humor—only resignation. And fear.

“Dad, what’s going on?” I cried out, my voice breaking. “What does he mean by I belong to him? What does that even mean?” I wanted answers, but my father refused to meet my gaze.

“You heard right, Mia,” my father’s voice was flat, emotionless. “Your ears weren’t deceiving you. You now belong to Lord Bryan, and you don’t have a place in my house anymore. This is where you belong now, Mia.”

I felt as though the world had just shattered beneath my feet. I stood there, frozen, unable to move. This wasn’t real. This couldn’t be happening. My father—my own father—had just given me away.

I wanted to scream. I wanted to run after him, beg him to take me back, to say it was all a mistake. But my body wouldn’t move. The words had stunned me into silence.

Without another glance in my direction, my father turned and walked out of the room.

I was left standing there, in the cold, with the stranger who had just claimed me as his.

I didn’t even know what to say anymore.

My feet were rooted to the ground, my body paralyzed. I didn’t know what to do. Didn’t know what to think.

Suddenly, I felt his presence behind me. It was like a storm approaching, and I didn’t have the strength to fight it.

He placed a hand around my waist, and my body jerked in response. I spun around, instinctively, and before I could even think, my palm had slapped across his flawless cheek.

I couldn’t even register what was happening. His bloodshot eyes stared at me, full of fury and something darker. I flinched back, suddenly terrified of the man I had just slapped.

Mrs. Johnson Chapman’s Pov

I sat in the restaurant, my fingers tapping anxiously on the table as I waited for Mr. David to arrive. The tension in the air was thick, and I could feel the weight of what I was about to hear hanging over me like a dark cloud.

As he walked toward my table, I stood up with a bright smile, trying to hide the nervousness I felt inside.

“Welcome, Mr. David,” I greeted, shaking his hand firmly.

“Thanks, Mrs. Johnson,” he replied with a polite smile, and we both took our seats.

“Do you want to place an order? Anything to drink?” I asked, gesturing toward the waiter.

“No, no, Mrs. Johnson. I’m fine. Let’s get down to business.”

I nodded, my heart sinking. I knew this wasn’t going to be easy.

Mr. David pulled out a file from his bag and placed it in front of me. I could feel the weight of the papers in my hands as I opened it, my fingers trembling.

“This is it.” I whispered, my voice shaking.

“If he doesn’t get married, he won’t inherit the CHAP’S company?” I asked, incredulously.

Mr. David nodded grimly. “That’s right, Mrs. Johnson. If Bryan doesn’t marry soon, he’ll lose the company to Dave.”

I slammed my hand on the table in anger. How dare my husband make such a decision about Bryan’s life?

“How could he do this? I won’t let this happen!” I gritted my teeth, my fist clenched tightly.

Mr. David’s eyes met mine with understanding. “I don’t want that either, Mrs. Johnson. Dave is not fit to inherit the company.”

I dug into my handbag, pulling out a wad of cash and passing it over to him.

“Thank you for telling me, Mr. David. I appreciate your help,” I said, shaking his hand before standing up and walking out of the restaurant.

As I got into my car, I tried calling Bryan, but the line wouldn’t connect. Frustrated, I started the engine and drove off.

Mia I didn’t see it coming. In one swift movement, I was pinned against the wall, his hand clamped tightly around my neck. Panic surged through me as I clawed at his hand, gasping for air. “Please,” I rasped, my voice hoarse and weak. “Please, I can’t breathe.” His grip didn’t falter. His eyes bore into mine, dark and merciless, as if he was toying with the idea of crushing the life out of me. My chest burned, my vision blurred, and I could feel the tears streaming down my face. I couldn’t think straight. Was this it? Was he really going to kill me for slapping him? Why did I even have to slap him in the first place? I’m just so dumb and annoying! I shouldn’t have done it! My strength waned, and I was on the verge of passing out when the sharp sound of a ringing phone broke through the suffocating silence. His hold loosened just enough for me to drag in a ragged breath, my lungs greedily gulping the air. He glanced at the phone, but his attention quickly returned to me.

Mrs. Johnson Chapman “Alicia, are the meals ready yet? Bryan will be here any moment, and you know how he gets when he’s hungry,” I asked the head cook, who’d been with our family for over ten years. Her once jet-black hair was streaked with gray now, showing how much time had passed.“Oh yes, Mrs. Johnson. The table is all set,” Alicia replied with a warm smile.“Good. Once he arrives, send a maid to fetch me immediately,” I instructed, sitting on the edge of my bed with my phone in hand.“Yes, ma’am,” she said, bowing slightly before walking out of the room.I couldn’t help but feel a little anxious. Bryan hadn’t been home for months, and with each passing day, his father grew more impatient. I knew how stubborn my son was, but I also knew how to handle him.A soft knock on the door pulled me from my thoughts. “Ma’am, Sir Bryan has arrived,” a maid informed me.I straightened up immediately. “I’m coming,” I replied, heading toward the living room.As I entered, I spotted him l

Bryan Gosh, my mom can be so annoying. Sending a girl I know nothing about to my mansion? That’s not happening. I don’t care what games she’s trying to play, but there’s no way I’m getting married to some random woman. Who the hell does that? Was marriage some sort of joke or something? Damn them all. It’s never happening and I’m going to make sure of that!“Philip,” I called out immediately, taking the first step of putting a stop to every one of their plots.I’m not some baby to be shoved around by his parents. If only they knew what I’m currently made of, they would stop pestering me for some family inheritance and shove it down Dave’s throat in a hurry.Philip, my best bodyguard, always rode in the car with me. The other four followed behind in another car. Due to my call to him, He turned slightly from the front passenger seat, giving me his full attention.“Yes, Lord,” he replied, respectful as always.“Switch on my other phone and turn this one off,” I ordered, ha

Mia“Miss, Miss, please wake up. It’s morning already.”I groaned softly as the maid’s voice tugged me out of my peaceful sleep. For the first time in forever, I’d slept like a baby. The mattress beneath me felt like clouds, and the pillow cradled my head in perfect comfort.“Uhm, good morning,” I mumbled groggily, rubbing my eyes and stretching my arms. The maid stood patiently, giving me a small nod. “You need to have your bath now, Miss,” she said, walking toward the bathroom.I frowned at her words, still a little disoriented. Do they really expect me to get used to this? For them bathing me or more? Never!“Wait, are you going to run the bath for me or something? Perhaps, bath me up again today like I’m some little disabled child, huh?” I asked, a hint of sarcasm in my voice. She didn’t answer, instead she disappeared into the bathroom leaving me in awe, staring at the door intently. Why is he calling Philip? Is it to clean up the mess I made?Philip entered the room almost immediately, his expression neutral, though his eyes betrayed a hint of pity as they flicked toward me.“Yes, Lord Bryan,” Philip replied, bowing slightly.Bryan stood still,

Bryan’s POVI clenched my fists, barely containing my frustration. Gosh, this woman is relentless.I thought switching off my phone would keep her at bay, but no—here she was, standing in my house uninvited.“Come on, Bryan, there’s no need to ask how I found your address,” my mother said, her tone too cheerful for my liking.“The important thing is that we’re here now, right, Fiona?”She nudged the woman standing beside her—the same irritating, overly made-up woman she was pushing as my so-called future wife.Fiona smiled coyly, and I suppressed a groan.Of all the women in the world, my mother had to choose this one. Her persistence was grating, but I wasn’t about to let her win.“Listen, I don’t—”“Later, son,” my mother interrupted, waving dismissively.“Why don’t you two spend some time together? I’ll just be outside admiring my son’s beautiful mansion.”With that, she nudged Fiona toward me and left the room, clearly satisfied with herself.I scowled after her retreating figure,

Bryan stepped out of the elevator and into the grand hotel lobby, adjusting his jacket as he walked toward the entrance. The space was buzzing with soft music, elegant chandeliers casting a golden glow over the pristine marble floor. His eyes immediately landed on Lincoln and Raymond, who were already waiting with the man assigned to take them around.Lincoln, as usual, was the first to react when he saw Bryan approaching.“Damn, bro!” Lincoln grinned, stepping forward and giving Bryan’s outfit an exaggerated once-over. “You look like you just walked straight out of a fashion magazine. Our manager really outdid himself this time.”Raymond, standing beside him with his arms crossed, nodded in agreement. “For once, I gotta admit he got it right. These outfits are fire.”Bryan smirked slightly. “You just realized he knows what he’s doing?”Raymond chuckled. “Man, I always knew, but you know me, I love to act like I don’t. Gotta keep the man humble.”The guy who was supposed to take t

The moment Bryan and his crew arrived at the luxurious five-star hotel in Mexico, they were escorted to their respective rooms. The hotel was nothing short of extravagant, with marble floors, floor-to-ceiling windows that offered breathtaking views of the city, and soft golden lighting that gave the entire place a warm, elegant feel.Bryan pushed open the door to his suite and stepped inside. The room was spacious, with a king-sized bed neatly made with crisp white sheets, a seating area with plush sofas, and a minibar stocked with expensive drinks. A large flat-screen TV hung on the wall opposite the bed, and a door led to an en-suite bathroom that had both a bathtub and a glass-enclosed shower. He tossed his duffel bag onto the bed and stretched his arms. It had been a long flight, and even though he wasn’t one to complain, he was grateful to have some time to rest before the concert later that evening. Mia was deep in sleep, curled up comfortably under the thick blankets, when a soft but persistent knock sounded at her door. She stirred slightly, frowning as she tried to cling to sleep, but the knocking came again. Groaning, she sat up, rubbing her sleepy eyes before muttering, “It’s open.”The door creaked open, and Mrs. Chapman stepped inside, looking as lively as ever. She was already dressed, her hair neatly pinned up, and she had a warm smile on her face.“Wakey, wakey, my dear. It’s morning already,” she said in a cheerful tone.Mia yawned, stretching her arms lazily before smiling. “Good morning, Mom.”“Good morning, sweetheart. Now, hurry and freshen up. We have shopping to do today, remember?”Mia’s sleepy brain took a moment to catch up, but as soon as Mrs. Chapman mentioned shopping, her eyes widened slightly. The morning light streamed through the curtains, casting a warm glow over the room. Bryan stirred awake first, blinking a few times as he adjusted to the brightness. He turned his head to the side, and there she was—Mia, still asleep, her face peaceful, her hair slightly messy from last night. A lazy smile spread across his lips. She looked so beautiful.Bryan sat up slowly, stretching his arms before slipping out of bed quietly. He headed to the bathroom, freshened up, and got dressed in a black fitted shirt and matching pants. By the time he was done, Mia was still deep in sleep. He smirked.
