“How did I get myself here?"
I remember sleeping on my bed in my room but now I am in a thick dark forest surrounded by trees and howling wild animals, I try to search for an escape route but it keeps on leading me back to the same spot.
"Somebody help me" I screamed out loud but I guess it was not enough "Is anybody there" I screamed again" and got no response.
In no time I saw two wild animals fighting, I took cover behind a huge tree so that they wouldn't notice me and use me for their next meal.
"Why are you doing this Cecilia?" The howling and the groaning had stopped and what I could hear now was a human male voice.
I guess I was too busy trying to take cover from the wild animals that I did not notice when they turned to human beings, "wait, how did they just switch to humans?" I said to myself
"I want everything you have right now, I want to be queen, I want to rule over the pack and I want my descendants to be next in line" the lady spoke up
I could not see her face clearly because of the hair that covered her face, I tried to get a clear view of the man's face but I couldn't because his back was turned to the tree that I was hiding behind and he was on the floor.
"You have everything…" The man spoke up again but his voice was really weak that his words came out as a form of a whisper
"You lie, I don't have the throne and that is what I want, what I live for…"
I could hear so much spite in the lady's voice leaving me to wonder why she was doing all these things to just sit on a throne.
"I offered you my heart, I offered you my body but you left me to go after that human that is not even half what I am"
The lady let a small chuckle and I could just tell that she was bitter about the whole thing. I stood behind the tree watching everything that was happening, I felt something crawling up to my elbow, and when I looked it was a spider, I wanted to scream but I held my mouth with my palm and shook the spider away.
"I never asked you for any of those things…." There was a pause mid-sentence and I could tell that he was struggling to breathe, he was going to die and the lady was going to have everything she wanted I thought and immediately felt sad for him.
"I never asked you for anything, you knew we weren't going to end up with each other, you knew that I never liked you. I only entertained the thought of us being together because that was what our parents wanted"
With the way the words came out from his mouth, I could feel his pain, I wanted to go to him to comfort him till he finally let go but I was too scared because I didn't want to die.
"You and your father used my family to sit on that throne but when it was time to repay the favor by getting married to me you chickened out and pretended like you were not aware of the agreement, you coward"
"Everything would have been different if I had known that you were not okay, everything would have been different if you told me how you felt…."
"So that you would see me as a pathetic fool or you would think of me as a weakling"
"Cecilia everything would have been different if I had known how you felt.."
"Would that have stopped you from getting married to that human?"
"She is my mate…"
The lady let out a boisterous laughter, while the man was still on the floor when I brought my head forward to look at him properly I saw that he was wiping blood from his nose.
"Lucas was my mate but I killed him when he was acting stubborn and saying he was not going to let me go, I killed him so I could be with you but here you are acting as if you were the only one who had a mate"
"Lucas would have given you the power you wanted, Lucas was a good man"
"Lucas was not the man I wanted, I wanted you…"
I feel something pass by my legs, I let out a scream forgetting the situation I was in.
"Who is there?" The lady spoke up, her voice completely laced in anger and I am sure that she was going to end my life if she saw me. I immediately tried to back away from the tree so I could escape but my legs had been tied there.
Her attention was now drawn to the tree I had been hiding behind while the man who was on the floor pulled her kegs so she could not move away but instead, she hit him on the arm making him collapse on the floor.
She angrily made her way to the tree and in no time she was in front of me
"Oh it is you, I can see you want to join him"
She let out her knife and I covered my face in an act to protect myself from the sharp metal but instead, I woke up on my bed, sweating profusely.
The only words I could remember from the terrible nightmare I just had were "Oh it is you" and I spent the remaining part of my night wondering what the strange lady meant by that
Sophia's povHere I was, staring out to the beautiful streets right indoor. I could see kids and young adults like myself roaming about with happiness all over their faces. Their happiness made me envious of them. Why is my life so different? "Goodness! " I heard my mother exclaim from behind. From the window where I stood, I turned back and found my mother holding an empty can in her hand. "We're out of spice. Why didn't I see this? " She groaned, patting her forehead.Out of spice? This is it. Watching her checking other items in the cabinet... "Mom, " I called, drawing nearer to her.She lifted her gaze at me and responded with a hum.Seeing her eyes on me, I managed to push my inner words out next."Let me head to the market and get the spices for you, " I suggested, moving closer to the empty can. But suddenly..."No! " She grabbed the can in speed, leaving me shivering by her response."You aren't going anywhere Sophia. How many times do I have to tell you that you can't
Sophia's povWhat does he mean by Mate? I stared into the glowing red eyes of this beast before me. The once terrified eyes no longer sent fear within me, but ... Peace.I hovered my eyes around the face of this human like wolf on me. It seems to be doing the same, cause I noticed how its eyes moved around me.What is happening? I should be feeling scared but I no longer have fear for this beast. Why is this so? I remained still on the ground. I didn't even feel like leaving where I was. My eyes remained on the creature. It suddenly lowered its face down at me like earlier. But this time _instead of sniffing into my hair_ its face began caressing mine. I felt a sudden spark and a strange feeling towards this creature. It's not as dangerous as I thought it was. It's harmless. It kept caressing me and I couldn't help but feel so drawn to this creature. I found my hand moving to its face, caressing it back with so much feeling within me. It lifted its head, giving me the chance
It's been two days since that incident. Mom no longer talked to me like before. She now kept herself silent around me, but her eyes never left me. When it's time to eat, she won't tell me to come to the dining room and join her. This time around, I'm the one who had to take note of the time and arrive at the dining room myself. We would eat silently like we don't know each other. She's just so mad at me over what happened. Here I was at the window like always, staring out to the road, seeing passers by looking so happy, walking freely without anyone holding them back. Just like what Clara and the others said, I'm indeed a prisoner in my own home.In these two days that passed, I noticed that s new thought has taken over the boredom that had been with me for years. That werewolf. After that night, I couldn't sleep without thinking about it. It has become part of my dreams. Whenever I stare out through the window, staring at the tall trees of the forest ahead, it's like I could s
It's back here. My gaze remained on the werewolf that stood far from me, standing tall like a human. I didn't run away. After my encounter with it the last time, I no longer had fear towards it.I felt calm and drawn instead. Where I stood, I could see the werewolf making its way towards me. That got my heart pounding next.I was thinking of doing the same, but I chose to wait instead, watching. That's when I saw something mesmerizing. Something I've never seen before. As it approached me, his body and height began to transform into... A man? I gasped on seeing a handsome man walking towards me under the moonlight. His eyes glowing red, sending a tingling feeling within my heart. That's when I felt that connection again. That beautiful flow that drew me out of my home and right here in the forest. Is it coming from him?My lips came separating a bit followed by my feet moving forward to this handsome being coming to me.It soon came to halt when this young man stood before me. W
If I am truly a werewolf as Xavier claims then my mother has a lot of explaining to do. I stared at Xavier who was convinced that I was a werewolf but the possibility of me being a werewolf was just twenty percent or probably a fifty since I do not know if my father is a werewolf but if he was Mother would have told me right?"Soph.." Xavier snapped me out of my thoughts and my attention was drawn to him again"Look at me… " his hands tightened around my waist."What do you by me being a werewolf?" I needed to be sure that I heard well and that my ears weren't playing pranks on me.Xavier locked eyes with mine and I was dead sure that my eyes were filled with uncertainty."You are one of us Sophia, I don't think it is possible for you not to be a werewolf"His sentence did not make sense to me and I just stared at him blankly hoping he would explain more to me."What I mean is that you are my mate and there is no way you are completely human, there should be some sort of werewolf bloo
SophiaAfter three days of contemplating if I should follow Xavier to see his world or not, I decided to go with him. My mother was still giving me the silent treatment and with the response she gave when I asked her what the word mate meant said a lot even though she had not given me a reply but forbade me from going outside instead.Trailing behind Xavier, in the feel forest I had my doubts hit the only thing on my mind was to know if his world was any different from the one I have always known.I could say that Xavier is a nice tour guide, anytime we passed through a landmark or something he would give me the history behind it or tell me where the landmark was headed. After walking for what felt like hours my throat started to feel itchy and dry, and the sudden urge to drink water engulfed my tastebuds making me swallow my spit at every second."Are we almost there?" I broke the silence, Xavier turned to me his eyes went through my face, and I could his worry all over his face."Ar
Sophia POVAs soon as Lady Cecilia's arms wrapped around me, a strange sensation washed over me. Something I couldn't figure out exactly but I knew there was more to it.It was as if I have been transported to a different realm or a different place. A sense of Deja Vu, settling in me, making my mind go blank immediately. I found myself seeing a vision. I saw myself as a child, running through a dense forest with my mom. We were been chased by something which I couldn't quite make out what it was. Suddenly, a massive wolf appreared from no where. I found the wolf protecting my childhood form. The wolf's fur was a beautiful shade of grey, and it's eyes seemed to burn with an inner fire. As I watched, a smaller female wolf tried to get past the big wolf. Her aura seemed familiar. It was similar to Lady Celia's,but I couldn't quite put my finger on why. Just as I was about to delve deeper into the vision, Lady Celia's voice cut through the haze."Welcome once again dear. You're
Lady Clia's POV She had come into our estate on a sunny afternoon, wide-eyed at the grand structure of our ancestral home-a sprawled stone wall with intricate carvings, all that faced her, our outsider, a human. I watched her from my balcony as she followed Xavier up in the stairway. My son's eyes shone bright with affection, and an unfamiliar bitterness clutched my heart. A human. "Lady Cecilia," Xavier's voice cut into my thoughts as they reached the top of the stairs. "This is Sophia. I wanted you to meet her." Forced, I wear a warm smile on my face, arms extended while in approach. "Of course, Xavier. Welcome, Sophia," I spoke smoothly while pulling her into a friendly light embrace. And deep inside of my heart I wasn't happy. Does this fragile human really think she's going to walk beside my son? In the eye of my mind, Cindy's face. She had been my choice, perfect Luna, powerful, loyal, made for the job. And here stood this breakable human whose scent was little more t
Sophia's POV:I carefully explained everything to my mother. My whole experience with Xavier, the tension building up in the pack and even my decision to turn down the Luna position too."... Mom, I know I'm not good enough for it, that's why I turned it down."I watched her weary disappear and change to a warm smile. She let out a deep sigh of relief, as if the heavy burdens of hers were lifted up from her shoulder. Was she happy that I did not want to involve myself in the Pack's politics or what? She smiled at me and patted me cheerfully on my back."My love, I'm glad you came to me with this. I promise now that I'll be open to you. Whatever you need." She chuckled. "But I want you to promise me something." She said, her voice low.I felt my stomach rumbling as I pondered on her next words. This promise should better be something I'll be able to keep. She knows too well that I'm not good at keeping promises."Okay, I'm listening.""Listen carefully, it's for your safety and that o
Sophia's povI listened keenly, I had my eyes fixed on her as she continued the story, her eyes heavy with tears. Her heart heavy with sorrow and her mouth heavy with with words. Her voice quivered as she struggled to let out her words. However, she did not stop, she continued."Sophia, the tension in the pack had been escalating long before you were born. I really don't know who in particular but someone formed a click against your father. They used his initial weakness to lead as yard stick to measure his success." She paused, wiping the tears building up in her eyes. "I'm sorry." She begged.I cuddled her in my arms, something I never thought would happen today. The way events suddenly took a turn was a surprise, one that I was loving. For the first time in a long while, we've shared the bond of family once again, although tearfully. "Its okay mom, go on.""Sophia, it did not just end there my love. This continued over time and soon turned into something I never envisaged; a full b
Sophia's povAs her words sank into my mind, I felt like a heavy stone was dropped into a well, creating ripples of conflicting thoughts in my mind. The Alpha of the bloodline pack is my father? So it's true? The whole thing does not feel real. It feels like my world is being shifted beneath my feet to be crushed by the weight it has put on me.I quickly remembered when the moon oracle had first told me this. That I'm the daughter of the old Alpha and the destined Luna of the pack. Despite all.the signs she showed me then, I dismissed it that time, thinking she was just making up stories that seemed too good to be true. I never believed my life was such a fantasy.I shoved off such thoughts, believing it was some prophecy meant for someone else. But now hearing my mother saying it to my face with all seriousness, now I remembered the words of the moon oracle.'It's your fate and you can't run from it...'Truly, I'm the daughter of the old Alpha. However, I still have those doubts in m
Sophia's povI stood right in front of her frozen like a statue in ice. I was about to pick up the last plate when her voice cut through the air and stopped me. "Sophia, wait a moment."The tone of those was calm but it sent a chill down my spine. My heart raced in unease as I shivered uncontrollably before her. It felt as if time was paused and my mind was given some seconds to reel with thoughts of how to apologise to her. After this brief moment, I was about to go down on my knees and apologize when she spoke again."I'm sorry." She begged. Those words hit me like shockwaves from a high-tension cable. Like what the fuck! She is supposed to be apologizing to me for anything. I should have been the one to apologise to her since last night but here we are, and she's apologizing, her face pale and full of remorse. What was remorseful of?My mind was clouded with the confusion that she had thrown at me. What does she expect me to think now? Like what should I do?How could she put me in
Sophia's POV:The soft chirping of the birds outside the house made my droopy eyes slowly fling open. My eyes flickering and I blinked in confusion, trying to understand the whole thing. Everything seemed strange to me, like I did not really understand the whole thing. Oh! Now I remember. I came back home and had a fight with mom and ended up sleeping on the damn dining table. I didn't even get a change of clothes. My mind reeled with guilt as I remembered all the harsh words we said to each other. It pierced into my stone cold heart and broke off those walls. Tears softly trickled down my face as I pictured the whole thing again. I know we never meant any of it, but I should have controlled my temper. I started this whole thing and I hate the way things ended. I fell asleep here due to the weight of the whole situation.Mother was angry about me going out to the woods and hanging out with Xavier. She's always too concerned about my future and everything, always reminding me of my no

Cindy's POV The silver bullet lay in my palm, its weight deceptively light, heavy with implications. I turned it over, watching the faint glow of the intricate runes etched into its surface catch the light. My wolf stirred forward in my mind, her energy tense and uncertain."You've been quiet," she finally said, breaking the silence. "What are you thinking, Cindy?"I smiled, a knowing expression curving my lips. "I'm thinking about how finally things are starting to make sense," I replied. "This bullet-it's not just a clue, but it is a key to unraveling the mystery surrounding Sophia.""Explain," my wolf demanded, though I could feel her growing excitement.I leaned back against the chair in my room, holding up the bullet like evidence in the court. "If I am not mistaken, this is the bullet from the old Alpha's mate, one of the pieces he had created for protection, but that is not the whole story.I paused with dramatic flourish. "Do you remember how the old Alpha died?"He gave hims
The walk back to the clan felt like it took a bit longer than it did, but I didn't mind. I couldn't stop smiling-my mind raced with the discovery I had just made. The cold night air brushed against my skin, but the warmth of my revelation kept me comfortable."You're really happy," my wolf said, 'Why are you smiling like that? Does it have something to do with the bullet you took from the assassin's corpse?" she sounded curious and perplexed, and I couldn't help a soft chuckle."Why do you think?" I answered."Do not play games with me, Cindy." she snarled angrily."What did you find?"I froze in my tracks, throwing my head back so that I could see the sky, a brilliant moonlit. The forest was quiet and silent only broken by the quiet crunch of the rustling leaves as the wind played through the branches. Instead of answering her, I asked one myself."Tell me," I said slowly, "do you know who the former Alpha is?My wolf paused for a second. "The one before Xavier's father?""Yes," I
