ATTACK

"What are you talking about?" Damien asked confused.

"We captured one of the wolves who couldn't escape and tortured him, he opened up and told us that they were sent to capture Your mate"

"Elena? What for?" He asked. His face changed immediately and you could tell he was Jealous and Angry, it was a mixture of both.

"We are yet to find out, He died without spilling anything"

"Find out about the details and get back to me!" He growled furiously, finding out that some wolves were interested in Elena aroused a new feeling of possessiveness and jealousy in him. He doesn't like it when people want to have what belongs to him. It made him want to keep her away and hide her from everyone else .

"Why do they want her? Do they know about her abilities or is there something else I don't know about her?" He queried himself.

He doesn't want anyone to know about Elena's abilities because they will exploit her and use her for political purposes, not to mention that he hasn't achieved his goal of immortality.

"Tighten the security around Elena and monitor whoever comes into this pack house " He commanded his Beta. He bowed his head and was about to leave when he came back and said something to him.

"I think you are forgetting something," His Beta said to him.

"And what could that be?"

"Don't you want to know the true identity of your mate?I can dig into her profile, in that way we can find out who she is and why these wolves are after her."

"Why are you so intent about doing that?"

"Because I'm your Beta and my duty is to make sure you stay away from danger, you have so many enemies and she could be a spy sent by one of them "

Damien pondered on what his Beta said, he took a deep breath before staring at him.

"Do the investigation and get back to me as soon as possible " He told him.

The preparations for the moonlit ball are going on. It's a festival celebrated every year in the wolf clan and it's going to be celebrated with a blood moon pack this year and everyone is looking forward to it, especially Elena.

She has never had the opportunity to witness the festival because Carl won't let her . She came out of her room and saw everyone decorating the castle and getting ready for the festival. She was so excited about it and couldn't wait any longer for the day to come.

Damien's blood lust has awakened and he kept the secret from everyone including Elena, he comes out at night to quench his thirst when everyone else is asleep and this night isn't different. He dressed up in a black robe and came outside looking for something to quench his thirst with, he doesn't think straight whenever he's thirsty and he finds it very hard to control his urge. He tried to train himself not to feed on other wolves and stick strictly to other animals. He was still thinking of what to do when something caught his Attention and he ran towards it .

He saw two huge wolves attacking another wolf and he immediately shifted and ran to the scene, he was so furious when he found out they were intruders and he fought them tirelessly, the other Wolf that was attacked was injured severely, the wolf shifted back and fell into Damien's Arms.

"Amelia?" He called out,

"Thanks.. for ...coming " she managed to say while caressing his face.

"Don't worry I'm here for you " He assured her, she was bleeding profusely but he managed to stop the bleeding , shortly after that she became unconscious.

He was shocked and worried as he carried her in his arms and ran towards the packhouse.

"Call the pack doctor now!" He growled and immediately the pack doctor was summoned.

"I think she's lost a lot of blood, good thing you were there to save her " The pack doctor said to Damien.

"She's gonna be okay right?"

"We hope so," He answered.

Damien was pissed at the rate in which other wolves were intruding and attacking his people.

He immediately remembered what his Beta said to him about Elena and immediately headed to her room angrily, he pushed her door open and saw her standing up, he held her neck tightly and pushed her against the wall while she struggled to breath.

"Let me go please " She struggled to say but Damien wasn't ready to let go of her until she answered his Questions.

"Who the hell are you?" He queried and immediately there was silence.
