CHAPTER 4

ELARA

"You are not in a dream. " I heard the nurse say. 

"So second-chance mates are real? I didn't believe it till now." I heard the nurse say. 

I saw the man look into my eyes as he sighed. 

"You smell a little bit like a rogue," I heard the man say as he released my hands. 

"What's happening here?" I heard the older woman who had come in with the man who saved me ask. 

"Mum, She is my mate, " the man said, looking over at the woman. 

"Mum?" I muttered. 

"How could she possibly be your mate? You have an arranged mate already. " the woman said. 

And besides, looking at her, I could sense another heartbeat in her, meaning that she is pregnant. " the woman said. 

"It doesn't matter, Mum, we were destined to be mates. " the man said. 

"If only she knew I was pregnant with triplets," I muttered. 

"I don't care if you both are destined to be together, you won't have anything to do with her, " the woman said, leaving the room. 

"I am Finn Nightshade, Alpha of Moonfield Pack. '' my handsome saviour introduced himself, stretching out his hands for a handshake. 

I was certain that I knew about this Pack, it was rumoured to be the most powerful and peaceful pack. 

"I am Elara Anderson, " I said. 

"Of which pack?" I heard Finn ask. 

"I am from the Shadowfang pack, " I said. 

"So you have a pack but why do you smell like a rogue? " he asked. 

"And also who were those werewolves that attacked you in the woods?" he asked. 

"I don't know who they were and what they wanted," I answered truthfully. 

"You would be here for a while until we find out who your attackers were and why they attacked you, after that, you can leave," he said. 

"Why would I be leaving?" I asked. 

"I thought we were meant to be together and you are also my second chance mate," I said. 

He lifted his face and gave me a deadly stare. 

"How can I accept you, according to my nurse here, you are with triplets and besides you heard my mum, she doesn't want to see you around," Finn said. 

"That doesn't mean she should go, you should accept her as your mate," the nurse said. 

"Can't you see in her eyes that she is lonely?" I heard the nurse ask. 

"Don't worry, no need to stay and cause a nuisance, I have been rejected many times, so this isn't the first time," I said, assuring the nurse that I can be without him. 

"I am leaving now, " I said standing up. 

As I made to stand, I felt a slice of pain go through me making me feel Dizzy as I fell back immediately on the bed. 

As I fell, I saw the nurse rushing over to me. 

"You are injured, you need a lot of rest and fruit," she said. 

"I didn't say you should leave immediately, you are permitted to stay in the pack house till you give birth. " Finn, the alpha said. 

"You talked about this not being the first time you were rejected, Did your first mate reject you? " Alpha Finn asked. 

I slowly nodded as tears made their way from my eyes. 

"Is he the father of the unborn babies ?" he asked. 

"Yes he is, " I responded. 

"Why is everything going against me?" I muttered. 

"I feel bad for you," he said. 

"Why did your mate reject you?" he asked. 

"Leave her alone to rest, that's a sensitive topic. " the nurse said. 

Suddenly, a guard came into the room. 

"Greetings Alpha Finn, your mum wants to meet with you in the palace. " the guard said, bowing in front of Finn. 

"I will see you later," Finn said, walking away. 

SHADOWFANG PACK

Today was the day everyone had been waiting for, it was the day that William Wolfhart, the Alpha of Shadowfang Pack and the Father of Silas had set aside for the announcing of his son's arranged mate. 

In the heart of the pack's territory, a grand gathering was organised to announce the arranged mate's arrival. 

The air crackled with anticipation as werewolves from far and wide assembled, their eyes fixed on the Alpha.

Silence descended upon the gathering as the Alpha stepped forward. 

I hereby present to you all my son's mate, Amelia Bricks, the daughter of the Bricks family," William Wolfhart said. 

The crowd gasped in awe as the Alpha son's arranged mate was revealed.

The arranged mate was no other than Amelia Bricks, the cousin to Elara and the daughter of Austin Anderson, the leader of the council elders. 

"I expect you all to respect and adorn her as your soon-to-be Luna and also as the wife to my son, Silas. " William said, 

"Let the jubilations begin, " William said, raising the cup of wine in his hands for a toast.

"She is not the one destined by the Moon Goddess to be my mate, " Silas said, looking at his father. 

"To hell with the moon goddess, I am doing what's right for you and the pack, " his father responded. 

"We have had this discussion before and I expect you to treat her as your mate and wife, " his father said. 

"Now go and meet your mate, Amelia and be nice to her." his father said, walking back into the party. "his father said. 

"I am not accepting Amelia Bricks as my mate," Sean said, looking at his father. 

"Who do you think you are to say that?" His father asked. 

"Father, we are talking about my mate and not yours," Silas replied. 

"You have no right to choose my mate for me, you might be my father and the Alpha but you are not the moon goddess who chooses a mate for us," Sean stated. 

"You will marry and make her your Luna and that's final. " His father said. 

"I reject her as my mate, " Silas said, looking at his father.
