CHAPTER 2

ELARA POV

Today made it the third month Silas rejected me as his mate. 

After Silas rejected me as his mate, I had no other option than to run away into the human city where I knew no one would recognise me.

I felt that it was the best thing I could do for myself at that time.

But after the second month of living among humans, I began to notice some changes in my body. 

I noticed that I have added some weight and not only that, but my senses also heightened which made me start vomiting and puking over any weird smell I sensed. 

At first, when I noticed these changes, I thought it was all normal as I wasn't yet familiar with the human world but after these changes persisted, I made up my mind to go see the doctor. 

Right now, I was in the hospital and I could see the doctor walking up to me with a smile on his face. 

"Congratulations ma'am, you are pregnant. " the doctor said, handing me over an envelope. 

As the doctor said this, I pinched myself to make sure I wasn't dreaming. 

I couldn't yet fathom what I just heard from the doctor when he dropped another bombshell. 

"You are pregnant with triplets ma'am, double congratulations to you. " the doctor said, walking away. 

"I was pregnant with triplets? " I asked myself. 

" Life, What have I done to you that you have been cruel to me, " I sobbed. 

I made up my mind to take care of my kids no matter what it would cost me. 

This was my first time experiencing Pregnancy, and this was just not a normal pregnancy.

I was pregnant with werewolf babies and it was not the same as being pregnant with human babies. 

I knew things would become doubly challenging and overwhelming for me.

This was the time I needed my mate most, but of course, what could I do? he had cast me out. 

"I hope I don't see you again, Silas," I said as I remembered how he had rejected me. 

I didn't have any idea of what to do, I knew I had to find work or a job I could do to be able to cater for my unborn babies, but how would I find that job when I wasn't yet in a good state of mind? 

I thought about aborting the kids but I knew that it could lead to me being a dead person as I have heard several stories of women dying in the process of aborting a baby. 

I was now on the busy streets walking aimlessly, I had nowhere to go. 

All I knew was that I was going wherever my legs carried me. 

I allowed my legs to lead me down the streets. 

I observed people gazing and staring at me, I couldn't bring myself to blame them, I was crying while walking on the road, I was sure they all thought that I wasn't normal. 

I didn't realise where I was until I felt darkness overwhelm me. 

I looked around and it dawned on me that I was in the middle of the forest and not only that, this particular forest was the forest that had been banned from humans.

It was rumoured to be the forbidden forest as no one had ever gone there and come out alive.

" O, Stupid me! " I gasped when I discovered what I had done to myself. 

As soon as I said this, I heard a frightening sound behind me. 

I turned back to where the sound came from but I didn't see anyone there. 

I could sense the tension in the forest as I heard footsteps approaching me. 

"Who are you? Show yourself and don't be a coward. " I screamed hoping to scare away whoever was there. 

I could sense danger but I couldn't see anything approaching me. 

Suddenly, I saw something jump out from his hiding place, I gasped and quickly took on my heels. 

I ran as fast as I could but it was all to no avail as I saw a creature running towards me. 

The creature was no more on its own, they were three now and all of them were chasing me. 

"What do you want from me? " I shouted while I was still running. 

"We want you, we want your body. " I heard one of the creatures say in its growling voice. 

"Strip off your clothes. " I heard another voice say. 

Suddenly I stopped hearing their footsteps, I stopped running trying to figure out the way they went through. 

I saw one of the creatures jump at me from the corner of my eye.

I now saw what the creatures were, they were werewolves, But why were they chasing me? 

"Could it be that Silas sent them? " 

I made to run but I felt a tooth grab me by my right leg and pulled me down. 

I landed forcefully on the ground, injuring my head in the process.

I saw the werewolf lift me and sniffed me. 

"You smell nice, I bet you would make good food on my bed, " he said, sniffing me. 

All of a sudden, I saw another creature, a werewolf too but he was different from the others, he was white. 

The new werewolf jumped at the ones that had tried to attack me. 

Within the blink of an eye, the new werewolf slashed through the throat of the other ones leaving all of them dead. 

I could tell that this werewolf was a hybrid, "But why did he help me?" I asked myself. 

The werewolf who had saved me slowly shifted back to his human form. 

As he approached me, I could see that he had a familiar figure. 

The man who had saved resembled Silas

"But why would Silas save me or could it be that I was dreaming? " I asked myself 

"Silas," I muttered before a chilling coldness enveloped me and I succumbed to the darkness.

I lost consciousness of where I was.
