When I went into the coffee shop to change my clothes, an old lady asked, "What happened to you?"

"Oh, my coffee spilled all over my shirt." I crack a grin. She also smiled and touched my face, which made me squirm.

"I remember my daughter to you. Anyway, take care always and don't tell a lies again." 

She left me speechless and puzzled after saying those words.

"Perhaps her daughter is on her way out of the country."

I took a few steps to the bathroom and dialed Britanny's number.

[Hello, how are you? Did you hear about the bus that exploded, by the way?]

"Yes. Bring me my beige long-sleeved polo from my white closet, Britanny."

[Why? What went wrong?]

I sighed and rolled my eyes as I wiped the coffee from my breast.

"Just do what I said; I'll be late in a matter of minutes."

[Woah, don't worry, I'll get it right away. By the way, where are you?]

"In the bathroom of Halton's coffee shop."

[All right, in 5 minutes, we'll be there.] I hung up the phone and fixed myself. 

Other customers entered the bathroom, including the three girls who were discussing Haru.

"Is that true, sis? Your night was scorching," While applying make-up to her face, the girl in a white top and fitted skirt said.

"Yes, Haru is fantastic in bed," the other girl added, and they both laughed. While listening to them, I pretend to be putting on make-up.

"Wait, isn't this Haru Konstello from Silvenia company?" the other girl asked.

I came to a halt for a moment, waiting for the girl to respond.

Please decline.

"He is, indeed. We met at a bar last night, but he kept moaning about another girl's name while we were having sex "My eyes widened as the girl pouted.

Moaning about the other girl's name?

"Can you tell me the name of the girl?"

"Selena. With that name, he keeps moaning. It hurts a lot because it isn't my name."

What the fuck is this? Why was he muttering my name while she was having sex with another girl?

I'm not sure what I need to feel, whether I should be happy or disgusted.

"Here's your top, Selena..." Britanny slowed her speech when she noticed me hushing her, and I felt the stares on my back.

"Are you Selena?" I sighed and closed my eyes before turning to face them.

"Do you have any issues?" I inquired. She smirked and crossed her arms before tossing her purse to her friend.

"Are you familiar with Haru Konstello?"

I laughed a little and mimicked her posture. I raised my left brow at her, which irritated her.

"So, what's the deal with it?"

"How could you—"

She was about to throw her hand in my face when I grabbed it.

"To begin with, neither of us had been Haru's girlfriend. Second, don't try to mess with me or else..."

"Or else what?" she smirked, but her fear was visible in her eyes.

All of them were terrified when I pulled out my gun from my gun pocket. I aimed my gun at her temple.

"This is our first and final meeting."

She slowly walked back to her friends and then ran away from us. Britanny snatched my waist.

"I told you not to use that toy gun to scare anyone," she said as bubbles emitted from it.

"But it's effective," I said, changing my top.

"What's the problem with you and that girl? Why is Haru involved in this?" Britanny inquired as she waited outside the cubicle.

"She claimed Haru was moaning my name rather than hers while they were having sex."

Britanny burst out laughing and smacked my shoulder as I exited the cubicle.

"What's the matter with you?" I asked her because she couldn't stop laughing.

"You're already the winner, girl! It means Haru missed having a sex with you because you're great with it."

I shook my head and straightened my hair and purse. I have another ten minutes before office hours.

"Get home now, you moron. Haxilla is waiting for you, and I need to go to our office as well "I said this as I walked out of the coffee shop.

"Ahh alright, goodluck to your first day!"

We exchanged hugs and kisses before saying our goodbyes.

When I saw Haru talking to another girl, I was almost at the front of the company. They kissed each other sweetly, just like he kisses me every night.

They appeared to be in a good frame of mind.

Why do I have the impression that he is cheating on me despite the fact that we are not in a relationship? Perhaps Haxilla was right.

The connection between the two of you will be severed once he is satisfied with you. I want to walk away from where I can see them clearly, but my feet won't move an inch.

What the hell happened to me?

"Falling in love with Haru Konstello is the most foolish decision you'll ever make."

When I turned around, I noticed Wade standing behind me, staring at the same person I was.

"What do you mean?" I inquired, and he shrugged and began walking. With my heads bowed, I follow him.

"Haru was never serious about any of his previous relationships. His rule is that he only sees one girl per night."

With a nod and a sigh, I closed my eyes and sighed again. Maybe I'm a fool for falling in love with him in the first place.

"Yes, you're one of those stupid girls who fell in love with him," he admitted as he abruptly shifted to the right side of the company.

Did I say what I was thinking?

I walked into the company with a shrug on my shoulder. I'm only a few minutes late.

Or perhaps not.

I pressed the 35th floor button on the elevator, which was about to close when it was stopped by someone's hand.

"Oh, hello!" Haru greeted me, but all I did was nod and turn away.

It's a little awkward, to be honest.

I don't want to talk to him because I'm afraid I'll forget what he did and end up kissing him again–

Haru pinned me on the elevator's corner and snatched my lips in a split second, shaking my entire system.

This is exactly what I was trying to say.

He took his lips away from mine and gazed into my eyes.

"Why are you so cold to me?" he inquired, but I averted my gaze.

He hugged me tightly and gently stroked my hair with his hands. It relaxes both my heart and mind. He kissed me again after moving his body away from me.

"So, why are you avoiding me?"

"I heard you don't take your relationship s seriously..."

"I might be a jerk who doesn't take relationships seriously, but Selena, you're different."

Hearing those words makes my heart pound a little faster. I don't want to believe it because I'm not sure if I was the first girl to hear him say those words.

"Haru..."

Haxilla's voice kept echoing in my ear, and I didn't know what I needed to say.

What if I end up in the same situation as Haxilla, or even worse?

He kissed the top of my head with a smile. He took my hands in his and twisted our fingers together.

"Please give me a chance to show you that I am trustworthy, okay?"

I'm at a loss for words, so I just nod at him.

Employees began to ride in the same elevator as us. Every time they saw our hands, they whispered and gossiped about us to one another.

I mean, I can clearly hear what they're saying.

The elevator came to a halt on the 30th floor, and a man appeared in front of us.

The employees greeted him, and he simply nodded. I cocked my head, taking in his familiar aura and posture.

"Hey Jax, my sleepy buddy! You've gotten up early today," Haru approached the man after he had finished using his phone.

I finally recognized the man's face as he looked at us. He's the one who threw my papers in the mud and spilled coffee on me earlier!

What a stroke of luck!

So he's my boss, then? I work for this type of jerk? He can't even say "I'm sorry."

"And you're already flirting with my new secretary; did you finish the shipping document before you held her hands?" Jaxon asked Haru a question that made the other employees, including myself, laugh.

"Because we're dating, this isn't flirting. And, yes, I have already sent you an email regarding the shipment of the new models "He responded and proudly displayed all of our hands.

My eyes widened when he said 'dating,' and I can't remember the last time he courted me and I said yes.

When they heard Haru's false confession, the majority  of the employees gasped.

"Sure, whatever. Your girlfriend is probably unaware that you're already dating."

When the elevator doors opened, we all walked to the corridor. I tried to walk to my office after releasing my hands from his grip, but he pulled me back to face him.

"What's the matter?" he inquired.

"We haven't officially started dating yet, so don't be clingy in public." I said this and then walked away without waiting for his response.

"Make me an espresso and go to the AR department to get the Devonix A10 model files."

That's how Jax greeted me when I opened his office door; I hadn't even stepped inside yet.

I can't move because I'm still stunned. He paused what he was doing and gave me a solemn look.

"The coffee won't make itself, and the files won't walk towards me, so get moving now."

"But—"

"Move."

I rolled my eyes and followed his instructions. I went into the kitchen to make the espresso coffee. Many female employees are staring at me as if they want to kill me right now.

I placed the coffee on his table first; he was about to speak, but I interrupted him.

"I'm not sure where the AR department is, so I'll bring your coffee here first so it doesn't cool down."

I left him to find the AR department, and while looking for it, I ran into someone.

"Wade."

"Are you looking for something?"

"Oh, I can't seem to find the AR department."

His brow furrowed as he examined his wristwatch.

"It's only 8:29 a.m., and you're already looking around the company for a department? Jax isn't like this at all "He was perplexed, he said.

"What exactly do you mean?" I inquired, but he shook his head.

"Nevermind. I'll take you to the AR department if you follow me."

I gave him a nod and followed him. The employees we met in the corridor were whispering and staring at us.

Is my beauty that great? Joke.

We were on our AR department when I noticed Haru's office. He seemed uneasy with the girl he was with because she never removed her hands from Haru's body.

"Wait for me here; I'll just need to ask Ms. Perfiana something," Wade said as he approached Ms. Perfiana.

I returned my gaze to the window and the girl attempting to kiss him, but our gazes accidentally collided when he looked up. He pushed the girl and immediately stood up. He drags the befuddled girl to his door.

"Should we go?"

I nod to Wade, and we proceed to the AR department.

"Good morning, what are you looking for?" A girl with blonde hair and glasses greeted me with a fake smile because she saw Wade standing on my back.

She is one of the employees who heard Haru's false confession.

"Mr. Silvenia wants the Devonix A10 model's files," I explained.

She gave me a nod and looked through the tower of papers for the file I needed. I overheard the two girls discussing me and Haru while I was waiting.

"She's Mr. Haru's girlfriend?"

"Does Mr. Haru have a fiancee?"

When I heard the word "fiancée," my brow furrowed.
