Israel

I tipped the glass and downed the content in one gulp. I grabbed the wooden panel and stared right ahead, head pounding and my eyes unseeing.

A lot of things did not make sense. The attack was the least of my problem since we'd gotten to the pack house. It'll be harder, if not impossible, for them to penetrate the fortress and the ancient security around it.

No. My problem was centered on my wife. Centered was maybe the wrong word to use, considering how well she tilted my world on its axis, perfectly disrupting its smooth running.

Marrying was part of the plan. But marrying her was proving to be a much more herculean task than I'd initially anticipated.

How hard would it be to live a separate live with my wife in this huge house filled inside out with people and different activities?

I reckon we both could get on with our lives and continue the way it was. Would be harder for her, I'm sure. What's with the vampyre hatred that was deep as the blood running through the blo

  • MATES WITH DEFECTS    Wrong

EvelynI've always thought my instincts were sharp enough to cleave a meat tendon. So when my alarm rang a few minutes earlier, I knew something was wrong. I could feel it in my heart. The air felt stale, somehow heavier. Deep into my bones, i could somehow hear the wrongness seeping into the morning fog, promising a future of unknown. I rubbed my gritty eyes and turned off the lamp. I yanked the drapes open and stretched. Stretched my upper body that is. My lower body_from waist below_is paralyzed. Even though no one knew why. I just woke up a random Tuesday, six years ago and here we are, practically a useless invalid being. For us vampyre, mobility is the base of our existence. Agility and beauty are considered our strongest fort. Along with our hypnotic powers. None of which I posses in any significant quantity. No agility and definitely no beauty to be seen anywhere, my hypnotic powers are nothing but woeful at worst and mildly disgraceful at best. The one who excel at thes

EvelynThe silence hung in the room like cold frothing, coated with snow and tied with a rubber band. Must have been my imagination but I saw a fleeting look of chagrin cross my father's face, before he stood up abruptly. “They're on their way now as we speak,” he gestured to the door. The small satisfaction fizzled away into nothingness, and left a sputtering wave of indignation in it's wake. I was getting married right this instant and nobody deem it's fair to tell me anything? I smiled through clenched teeth, looking up to find them peering into my eyes. “I think we should discuss the real issue,” my mother said. The black rim around her eyes sent a sympathetic pang through me and I stomped on it furiously. They got themselves into this mess and somehow I was responsible for solving it. Typical. My father withdrew a tiny necklace from his pocket and handed it to me. I took it in my trembling palms and stared at the expensive looking jewelry. It was a golden filigree and spark

  • MATES WITH DEFECTS    Groom to be

EvelynIn a perfect world, my wedding day would be the most happiest day of my life. I'd smile really big, so big you'd think I'm going crazy. The day would be clear and free of clouds, flowers and butterflies would adorn everywhere. Laughter of joy would ring around me like tinkling of bell and I would gaze into my husband's eye with love and affection. Yes and blah blah blah. But, reality check slapped me right across the cheek with celery stick.I couldn't be anymore miserable and helpless even if I tried. My wedding was the exact opposite of what the occasion itself was supposed to symbolize. No laughter, rainbows or unicorns. None of that. There are guns though. Few vampyre warrior and human security guards were stationed everywhere. Did I say everywhere? Well, yes. A guard with a scruffy face almost sent Agatha into a panic attack when he insisted on following me into the bathroom. The issue was resolved by changing the guard with a female colleague of his. The mood was

EvelynTwo things happened at once. A deafening silence descended and I started hyperventilating. My father only smiled tightly and motioned for my mother to bring me out. It was funny and ridiculous, considering I was in the same room as them.“Breathe princess. You'll be fine.” My mother leaned down and whispered into my ears. Those were the most useless piece of advice that could be given to anyone on the verge of panic attack like I was. It was like my lungs had totally forgotten how to go about breathing and my heart stopped for a full minute before picking up at a double rate. His scrutiny was worse. Much more worse than his passing glare. He unleashed the full intensity of those blue eyes on me. He stared at me like I was something funny. His mouth kicked up by the side, smiling a little at his own amusement. Heat of embarrassment climbed up my neck and I flushed an ugly shade of scarlet. I heard a few people snickering from his side. Evelyn I've always thought the worst that could happen to anyone of our kind was losing their soul, but I was deadass wrong. No, it wasn't death. It wasn't even losing their soul, not even close. It was facing the fury of a werewolf Alpha. I wasn't talking about the glares and the scowls anymore. I was talking about his deep blue eyes probing every cells in my body, I was talking about the hard lines of his jaws, of the way his sneer reached out and smashed my heart into smithereens. Now, I don't know what this is all about. Except for him getting the short end of the stick. Okay, if the fast words and snarls he'd spoken to his subordinate was any indication, he was pretty pissed. It was an hour after we'd finished officiating our wedding, in which my mother had given me a book as my wedding present. Which my father had given me a credit card and Agatha has my wedding gift. My husband looked pretty amused by the latter gift, he smiled in that way that seems mocking and amused at

  • MATES WITH DEFECTS    The new addition

Evelyn I was suddenly carried out of the car by Israel, and cold air whipped at my face. I took a minute to admire the mansion with a waterfall. And statues of wolfs scattered all around. “This is the pack house.” Israel announced, his cold voice rushed me out of my musing. I swallowed repeatedly until my salivary glands gave up their jobs. I looked up and him and what I saw wasn't really a Surprise. His eyes had darkened and he looked like he wanted to smash my head against the wall. I shrank on my seat, a technique I'd adapted for looking smaller and harmless. Which was unwise, considering how invisible and overlooked I already am. Agatha got out of the car slowly, her eyes wide as saucers as she stared around. Micheal did the same and we all stood in front of the house. “Are we planning to go in or what?” I asked no one in particular. “Yes we are but before that, there's some basic rule we need to ground out.” With an incline from his head, he subtly dismissed Micheal. He

Evelyn My heartbeat was still racing to the end of the earth, and I struggled to hold in the bike threatening to rise inside my belly. There was a dead body. In the pool of blood, crusty at the edges. A dead man killed by my husband. The husband that was giving furious instructions now, low and commanding. After what felt like hours which must have been nothing but few seconds, he stalked towards me again. My heart nearly jumped out of my throat. “Look like your vision came to pass princess. We're under attack.” His voice was strained with anger and a hint of appreciation. It made me feel a bit lightheaded. Though in truth, must have been the blood that drain right through my brain at the sight of the dead body. “I told you I can sense when things would happen. Though I never have seen it quite so vividly.” I murmured, shuddering when the vision of blood splattered everywhere collided with reality. Finally, the men were done with whatever they were doing and I watched them con

Israel It had been so hard, trying to control this growing need inside me. My fingers ache to touch her. To breathe her in, to stare into her expressive eyes and ask her what's going on inside her head. To probe her wall and examine the reasons behind them. It was perverted, the way I enjoy the few flashes of fire that speared me when she managed to be angry at me.So damn hard. I wasn't that kind of man, I was sure. I wasn't the one to sit on the edge of the king sized bed watching my wife murmur incoherent words in her sleep. Listening to her soft snores. I clenched my fist and took a deep breath. After wheeling her into the room, I had left quickly before I could do something foolish. Like touch her face and wipe the exhaustion from beneath her eyelids. Or kiss that soft mouth that I was sure was sharp as a sabre. She just doesn't know it yet. I stood up swiftly when a surprise message popped into my mind through the mindlink. Thank fuck I didn't close off the link. [Alpha!
