I had to take control of the situation immediately, it was obvious that Brody did not take the issue lightly.

“That was a joke though. The guy said I should not bother about it. He just bailed and I decided to come back home.”

He gave me a side glance and nodded, “I thought you would come back to training.”

“There’s no way I could have returned. It was already too late,” I said, stretching my hand to Ashley.

“I see.”

He seemed a bit relaxed but when I thought of his reaction toward me for being with Ashley, I realized it was fast becoming a competition.

I tried to shake it off my mind. Ashley was in front of me and that was what mattered.

“Sadly, I cannot be a part of this tension you both are exchanging,” he said, his eyes running between Ashley and me, “I have to freshen up and rush off to an important meeting. I'll see you guys later.”

He turned to Ashley and held her chin. Then he leaned in and kissed her fully on the lips, “be good, okay,?” he said and rushed out of the ro
