Carson quirked his brow at me as if I had no right to defend Ashley.

“You want to teach me how to speak to Ashley?” he chuckled, “coming from someone who has no regard whatsoever for her!” Carson fired.

“All of that is in the past, bro. And the earlier you let go of it, the better for all of us! Ashley is my mate as much as she is yours!”

Carson let out roaring laughter.

He blew out air from his lungs and put his hands on his waist before turning to me.

“You know, I think you deserve a degree in clownery. This is it, huh? This is how you want to play this game.”

“What the fuck are you talking about?”

“This is about what Circe said, right?” he chuckled, “you want to run ahead of us and get Ashley to fall in love with you.”

I became furious, “I won't have you speak to me in such a degrading manner. Why would I act based on what Circe said? You know how much I’m against her. And now you are saying this?”
