It was the time of 1785, there were many movements of people to various countries of the world, and wolves were no exception. There were small packs of no more than 30 individuals. At that time, the females married wolves from other packs to vary the breeds and to survive the strange diseases that appeared.

The White Moon pack was the smallest pack in the southern European continent, so called because of the white color of their fur when the moon rose.

In their human form, all had blond or black night, most had black eyes, very few had blue eyes, and there were only 15 members. A single wolf had thirteen children with the same woman and her fourth grandchild left the whole pack cold, at first everyone thought she was an alpha when they smelled her scent, but they were surprised as the hours passed.

Denis, a tall man, with a white beard and blue eyes, and a rather serious look. He was the alpha of the pack, he didn't hesitate to clarify the situation.

"She's a fucking Lycan" He said without any sensitivity.

His son, who was the second in line and was 23 years old, his hair was black and short, eyes drooped black, round face. He was very upset to hear his father's words, but only bowed his head as a sign of respect.

"We can't abandon her out there, but she must keep hidden from the other packs or no one will want to marry the rest of my children. This cannot leave here. Until all of you have married and betrothed your mate.

The whole family was silent, they knew how hard it would be for everyone if the rumor of a Lycan spread through the cities, and it all stayed in that family meeting, no one made a comment about it until everyone was married.

So 10 years passed, and all of Denis' children married before the rumor of a Lycan in the family began to spread. No other person like that girl was born, so even though many families knew about it, no one panicked. It was determined that the girl's mother's family was to blame for this, but the little girl, Jade suffered a lot, she lived far away from her family, even her mother abandoned the White Moon and looked for another pack. The girl's father remarried and had three more children.

The white moon pack transformed into wolves when they walked in the forest and only became human when they were with their families. They lived in wooden and stone houses, with several rooms and windows. They had learned some traditions from humans and tried to imitate them so as not to attract the attention of people who came to the city they had built. The streets were made of stone so that their future heirs could begin to walk in peace.

Jade was the only person in the family who was always alone in the house, because she frightened her cousins and siblings when she transformed involuntarily and frightened everyone, even hurting them with her claws. She was considered the monster of the family.

Old Denis didn't care, he just tried to find someone to marry her, just out of pity he tried to find her a suitor in another herd. Someone who liked exotic and extreme things, but no one wanted a Lycan in their family. The years went by. Until Jade turned 19 and finally her grandfather found someone for her. The girl had long black hair, black eyes, round face and a somewhat sad look, her lips were thin, and she was somewhat tall compared to the other girls in the family.

However, the boy she was betrothed to was vulgar and violent, his family was about to exile him, but gave him a simple task that they would give him a normal heir, and cleanse the tainted race of the White Moon. For they had a rather large debt and could not repay it.

That chosen man was named Jack, he was a troublesome person, but he didn't care, as long as the girl was always in her human form when she was with him, Jade, didn't like that man, she knew him for years, and he was one of the most unpleasant people she met. He annoyed her a lot for being a Lycan. She preferred to look at other things.

There was a merchant who came every month to this city. He was a rather handsome and educated man, blond hair and green eyes, but he was a human, and they spoke very little, but he interested her in a way, unfortunately she was never able to converse with him properly, as her cousins watched her, so she wouldn't run away on her grandfather's orders. That she wanted a wolf grandchild to clean up that branch of the family and for people to stop doubting her offspring, because even though Jade was the only one born a Lycan, sometimes other families avoided meetings for engagements.

The wish to talk to that boy one day was fulfilled, the merchant went to the house to deliver a small order to Denis, it was a lot of coins. Jade received them and when she tried to give them to her grandfather, her hands started to shake a little.

"Are you all right?" Asked the young man.

"Yes, it's nothing."

"Do you want to get out of this place and let's talk?"

She was a little embarrassed to see that boy inviting her to talk, he was the first person who wasn't from her family, who was somewhat respectful to her. Jade was a little scared, she didn't want to get her hopes up for something impossible, so she tried to go inside his house, but he took her hand.

"We can talk here if you want, I'm going to stay in this town for a few days."

Jade's eyes sparkled a little, but one of her cousins noticed some movement between the two young people and interrupted them.

"Is something wrong?"

"No, nothing's wrong" Said that young man.

Jade was delighted with the boy's proposal and wanted to see him again, but her family kept a close eye on her. For her that boy was interesting, a traveler who had seen many cities, a person she could talk to, but unfortunately she was trapped in this house.

At that moment, lunchtime began and all the men were going to eat. She was to wait for her stepmother to serve her food when her father and brothers were finished, that is the tradition here.

She just watched jealously as her father and brothers ate as a family, while she and her stepmother waited.

She turned back to the kitchen to serve the two missing dishes, but the woman spoke to her.

"I was told you spoke to the merchant and took too long. I have already told you, your grandfather will not let you leave, you already have a suitor, and you must accept this and bring a wolf into the world, your family lives with the burden of having someone like you here, your first cousins run away from women, please understand it is for everyone's sake."

"The person I was engaged to is a lout, I would be disgusted to be with someone like that."

The woman was somewhat depressed about the situation, her children might stay single if Jade's relationship didn't work out. She was getting so stressed out that she sometimes took her head from stress. He decided to eat in the small kitchen as the hours passed, and he watched his stepdaughter. He didn't want to talk about it anymore with the girl, just go about his day's activities.

[...]

In the evening hours Jade saw something quite striking, a locket lit up in the night, it was something from her room, she didn't understand how it had gotten there. She left the house and walked up the steep mountain. When he tried to pick it up, he saw the boy he had talked to a few hours ago.

She felt that someone covered her mouth. She tried to remove the rag with her hand; however, she couldn't, the liquid was too strong, and her human form was weak for this kind of thing.

She was half asleep, she was aware of what was going on around her, but she could not move, she saw that handsome boy carrying her to his cart, she felt disappointed, she wanted so much to talk to that boy, but she was disappointed to see what kind of person he was, she could not transform into Lycan, since the drug was too bad for her. She was taken to a cart and covered with a pile of food on top of it.

Among all the stuff, Jade could see a letter made in her grandfather's handwriting. She assumed that the bag she had recently received was payment for this. She concluded that it had been sold by her own family, and they pretended to plan everything in one day.

[...]

In the early morning, that boy arrived at a port and carried the merchandise to a ship and arrived at the hold next to Jade. There he saw dozens of girls who were just like her.

He began to think a lot about his grandfather and how he got rid of her, pretending that the girl had run away. He never thought of ending the debt with the autumn sun herd, he just pretended to want to settle everything in a civilized way.

She thought of transforming, but could not. The young man who brought her in recently saw that she was doing something unusual with her hands, so he went to the girl.

"You can't transform into that beast. I put a collar on you, it's to prevent it. An eccentric fat man wants things like you. He wants to have heirs like that, with strength beyond the rest. At last, someone will love you for what you are."

He said it mockingly, and without any empathy.

"My grandfather ordered you?"

"Yes, he's been asking me for months, asking me to find someone who wants people like you, but no one had to pay the 3000 sterling, only the kings of other countries want someone like you. They want an army of Lycans, they will be indestructible, you are worth much more than you think. Your kind only appear among thousands of wolves or by another Lycan, you were that lucky. Hahaha hahaha hahaha"

Jade was disappointed to hear it. She only thought of the sad life she would have from now on, she only looked at the ground. The young man who brought her to that place left the ship and left her with the rest of the girls. He was a human, not a wolf, so he didn't care what happened to her.

The Lycan girl began to hate those of that race, she couldn't believe they were so cruel to other creatures. She looked at the girls around her they were just as sad, she was a human too, her smell was normal, but they all had the same fate awaiting them. They were all pretty, beautiful and young. She saw that one of them had a knife, she didn't know how to talk to her, so in a low voice she said a few words to her.

"Can you give me the knife?"

The other girl looked at her somewhat confused and spoke to her in another language.

"I don't understand you."

She felt that neither of them spoke her language, and they were trapped. She felt the boat begin to move. The journey that would end her life was beginning, and the only window in the hold was closed. Everyone was left in darkness and deep sadness.

[...]

Three days into the voyage, Jade and the other girls began to get sick from the cold, the ship's crew had to untie them and give them blankets and keep an eye on them. However, only a few of them knew that Jade was a Lycan.

One of them took off her collar when he saw that she had some bruises on her neck, but Jade had no strength at all, the cold was making her sick. She had a fever like the other girls. The crew saw that they would probably all die, so they all went up to the bow to make a decision about her.

Jade imagined many things at that moment. She thought they would kill them or do much worse things to them because they were men, and she felt those perverted looks towards all of them. It was obvious that they had no good intentions. His hatred grew stronger and in a matter of seconds he started to transform into a wolf with claws and teeth, but something like a human. The girls around her began to scream in fear at the sight of the creature in front of them.

However, it did not do anything to any of them, only unmoored them all with its claws.

Some drunken crew members came down to see what was happening. They were all terrified when they saw the creature in front of them. However, Jade went up to them and wounded them with a single scratch that left them in agony until they died.

The girl climbed to the top and saw the whole crew, who were stunned to see such a creature and stained with blood. Some of them shot at it several times, but to no avail. Jade scratched them all to death, there were almost 15 crew members.

The captain of the ship hid near the helm, but when Jade went to kill him, one of the girls shouted.

"Don't kill him, he will take us to dry land" She said in their language.

The Lycan didn't understand anything, but thought to stop just out of curiosity, he felt she wanted to tell him something.

Slowly she returned to her human form and sat on the floor, she was naked, without clothes she had done nothing to herself because of the transformation. She saw her hands completely covered in blood and felt dirty.

One of the girls went to her side and put a blanket over her. So he wouldn't be cold. She was a blue-eyed blonde, quite beautiful.

"Don't worry, we'll get to land, and we'll be free."

Jade was surprised to hear her speak. She understood her language, but the word freedom didn't bring back good memories. She had no place to return to, as her family sold her as if she were merchandise. She only hoped to reach the mainland and not return home.

[...]

At dawn, they arrived at a port. There were dozens of armed people. Jade felt she was at risk for being a Lycan and for killing all those people. Before reaching dry land she jumped into the sea, without saying a word, and walked away from the harbor.

The girls on the boat did not understand what was happening, they only arrived at the port and saw how a group of men came to talk to them. They had to give explanations of what happened and since Jade had escaped, maybe they would not believe them.

Meanwhile, Jade was already on dry land. She took off the clothes she had and ran in Lycan form to be in another city in a few days, her speed was accelerating in a few minutes, but the stones and obstacles hurt her a lot. The sun came up at that time and started to bother her.

But her legs were ready to keep running until she could run no more. The mountains were strong enough to stop her. Her spirit was free to pass through the forests, as her kind had once done.
