Olivia

I staggered, holding on to my chest as I felt the pain of the mate bond breaking. The room was filled with loud screams and groans as Marcus fell to the ground in pain. Although I was in pain, I was feeling better already as I watched him writhe in pain.

“What the fuck did you do?” He growled at me angrily as his eyes glared daggers at me.

“Made your job easier? All you have to do now is accept my rejection and mate with the one you think you deserve.” I smiled victoriously.

“If you think you can get away from this, then you are mistaken and if you think I will accept the rejection, then you have another thing coming. I am not letting you go, not so easily, anyway.” He growled again. Does he really think he could do this? Why is this man so annoying and why did I only realize it?

“We will see about that. You will accept my rejection in the next 24 hours.” I challenged before walking out of his room.

“There is no way in hell that’s going to happen. I am going to make your life so miserable that—” His voice faded as I walked out of his room, making my way out of the pack house.

I was angry, hurt, and annoyed. I just wished I had realized the truth sooner. I ran towards the woods as fast as my feet carried me. I just wanted to get away from this place. I just wanted to go back home to my father. Amidst everything, one thing was sure; I would not let Marcus get away from this. I am going to have my revenge when he realizes what he has lost.

I don’t know how long it has been. Everything was a blur, and I felt numb. One minute, I am running through the woods, and the next, I am barging into my father’s office. Looking at his face made my tears flow even more.

“D— Dad,” I called in a broken voice, and he was with me within a second, wrapping me in a bear hug. I can feel his anger radiating off of him. His Lycan was on the surface seeing me hurt as his aura swirled around him.

“It’s alright sweetheart, shhhh,” he comforted me the best he could.

“Gentleman, we will continue this later. Please wait to be notified by me about the next meeting.” I heard the familiar voice of my best friend, Arthur, as he addressed the men in the office. I didn’t realize there was anyone else in the room until now. Soon, everyone except dad and Arthur walked out of the office giving us some much-needed privacy.

“Olivia,” Arthur’s concerned voice filled my ears, and I looked up at him through my tears. He has taken over as the Alpha King and has been working with my father to make things better between the wolves and Lycans. Looking at my best friend, I couldn’t help but sob. “Hey, are you alright?” He asked gently, holding my hand.

He has always been my go-to-person, and looking at him made me feel like everything will be alright. The concern in his grey-blue eyes reminded me of how he has always protected me from everything. I hugged him, and his body stiffened before relaxing and wrapping his arms tightly around me.

“Tell us, love, who hurt our princess?” He gently asked, letting me cry my heart out in his chest.

“Sweetheart, what’s wrong?” Dad asked, sounding concerned when I didn’t reply for a while. I felt bad for troubling or worrying them about me, but they are the only family I have. The only ones who care anyway.

“D— Dad, he ch— cheated on me. H— he never loved me.” I sobbed, and I heard loud growls escape from both dad and Arthur.

“Tell me what happened.” Dad ordered. His voice was soft, but I could clearly see the anger on his face. I could see he was not the only one because Arthur was equally angry.

Arthur then made me sit on the couch, making me drink some water. Dad sat beside me and Arthur moved to sit on the single sofa chair beside the couch. A few minutes later, I explained everything that happened to me at the Bronze Ridge Pack. He stood up, growling in anger as he punched a hole in the wall.

“I am so sorry, sweetheart.” He immediately approached me, comforting me once again. “He doesn’t deserve you. I always felt he was not good for you.” He mumbled.

“I am going to make sure that scumbag and his pack suffer. He doesn’t know who he is messing with,” he growled angrily once again, but I shook my head in denial.

“I agree. He needs to learn his lesson.” Arthur growled, his dark, angry voice turned soft when he looked at me. There was something about the way he looked at me that always made my heart skip a beat.

“I am sorry, love,” he sighed. “I always knew he was a douche, and I tried to tell you too, but the mate bond meant so much for you, and I didn’t want to break your heart. I had hoped your love and affection would change him.” His eyes turned dark in anger once again as he looked away from me.

“No, dad, Arthur, I want him to suffer as much as you do, but I don’t want his pack to suffer for his mistakes. You should not use your power to make them suffer. I want to get back at him, but not by hurting his innocent pack members.” I replied. I was determined to not let innocent members of his pack suffer for his actions. Dad sighed in defeat, knowing he could not change my mind.

“How about this?” Arthur suggested as he gazed into my eyes. “You want to get back at him? What better way to do that than make him realise what he lost?” He continued, and I looked at him in confusion.

“What do you mean?” I questioned, frowning at him.

“I can pretend to be your boyfriend in front of him, and we can do it when you reveal your true identity to him. He will not only be jealous, but he will also know what he lost.” He explained with a smirk. I kept silent for a while, thinking about his offer. It made sense, and it was the best way to get back at Marcus.

“Arthur has a good plan, and it’s time for you to come back.” Dad cut in, his palm landing on my hair softly, “It’s time for me to announce you as the first Lycan Queen to rule our kingdom.”
