A misunderstanding

Lizette’s P.O.V.

All thanks to my inability to shut my mouth at a critical moment, I couldn’t stay silent and blurted out,

“What? Are you stalking me?”

My query prevailed in suffocating silence in the car as I noticed a sudden change in Vincent’s stern expressions.

Was he looking...

... embarrassed?

As an experienced master, he concealed his inner turmoil by immediately putting up a cold face and said,

“Don’t change the topic, Lizette. Answer my damn question. Why did you take that young bartender’s number?”

The car shook with Vincent’s ferocious growls, trembling my heart, I felt bad to hear a tinge of distrust in his tone. Blinking my eyes rapidly, I looked away, utterly disheartened. Arlo must have heard his King’s accusatory tone for me, it crushed my self-respect to be called a disloyal person in the relationship.

I wanted to ask him about his exact thoughts before confirming this first impression of his query. However, Vincent flashed by my side, sitting close to me. H
