“How can you talk to Liz like this?”

Flabbergasted by Evangeline’s blabbering, I was in the process of digesting that absurdity when I heard Alpha’s Brandon’s stern voice, ruining my mood altogether.

He emerged from the busy crowd in the cafeteria and snarled at her.
