Layla. With my little insistence, Dante finally came out to eat. I helped him get rid of his work clothes and slipped him into something more comfortable before leading him out of the room. Felix was rather suprised to see me come out with him but he then gave him a small smile afterwards. I served him what I had cooked and we kept the atmosphere as peaceful as we could possibly manage. Dante didn't eat a lot, but knowing he now had something in his stomach filled me with satisfaction. He then offered to retire to bed first, saying he wanted to shower and we let him go, with Felix and I washing the used plates and discussing amongst ourselves. "This is really bad. That money is a lot. How are we going to pay it if there was even an option for that?" Felix asked and me shrugged, thinking about it."I have no idea. I just hope they are able to prove his innocence because if they aren't... I don't even want to think about it." I said and Felix quietly agreed with me.I changed into my n
Dante.Morning came quicker than I wanted it to. The fact that I would be going back to that workplace to answer for what I didn't do filled me with dread but at this point, there is a little I can do. Thankfully with Layla by my side, I was able to manage my distress a lot more better. Her quick thinking and proactivenes had helpede to stop actively thinking about the situation for a moment and it turned out to be greatly beneficial for me.This morning, after I had finished dressing, I came down to a hot cup of coffee, some toast and bacon and Layla's lovely smile. I reached out to her first, pressing a kiss to her forehead."Hey love. Thanks for the meals as always." I muttered and she smiled brightly at me. "I hope you enjoy it." She replied as I pulled away from her to give Felix a nod of acknowledgement. He was already wolfing down his food and he nodded in response too. We all settled to eat and while we did, layla spoke up."So, what's going to happen now?" She asked, gazing
Dante."You're fired." The words resounded in my ears but I had a hard time believing it. He couldn't be serious, there was no way he was. I swallowed, trying to open my mouth to beg him but stopped just in time. What was the point anyway? It's not like any of them here would change their minds. I would only be crying over spilt milk. I reclined in my seat, feeling a strange sense of disappointment wash over me."Of course, I understand." I muttered, standing to my feet and bowing my head, feeling rage burn through my veins. When I raised my head, my eyes locked with the man at the center of the room. I looked at the man who made the pronouncement and an uncanny sensation went through me all over again. Who is he and why does he look so much like me? I didn't like it one bit."Pack your things on your way out. This meeting is dismissed." The man uttered and I nodded. Without another word, I walked out of the meeting room into the hallway and made sure I was alone before letting out a
Author's pov.The exquisitely decorated room was dark save for the little table lamp that was on. A man was seated next to it, staring at the piece of document he was holding, his legs crossed. He picked up the glass of whiskey on the table, twirled it for a while before taking a sip from it and placing it back on the table. Reading through it, his lips slowly curling into a frown."Dante Sanders." He muttered aloud as he flipped to the next page, his frown deepening. "That isn't your real name." He growled, his voice filled with disgust. He continued to read through it, his displeasure becoming evident. Having had enough, he placed the document on the table, finished his glass of whiskey and stood to his feet, his hands beside his back. Heading to the ornate window, he looked out into the night sky, lost in his thoughts. The night was beautiful, but tonight, he wasn't in the mood to appreciate it's beauty."After all these years, you finally walked back to me." He muttered to himself,
Layla.Dante grinned at me before lowering his head and meet my lips in a searing kiss. I gasped into his mouth, my grip around his neck tightening as I pulled him closer to me. His tongue pushed past my lips and roamed my mouth. I copied his movement, kissing and devouring his lips like he did mine and I heard him groan, his breathing going ragged. Quite suddenly, his brows furrowed in thought and he peered down at me."Are you still on contraceptives? If you don't mind me asking, that is." I smiled at him, nodding my head. "Always." I muttered and watched the visible relief in his eyes.Pulling away slightly, Dante pressed kisses across my cheeks, jaw and eyelids. I drew in a sharp breath, burying my fingers into his soft hair, my body growing lax. He deftly pulled the nightdress off my body, leaving me naked under his smoldering gaze. I felt myself grow liquid and I reached out to pull him closer to me. Sucking at my lower lip for a while, Dante ventured lower to my collarbone til
Layla.A new semester had begun and here I was, trying to catch up with all of the ridiculous amounts of school work I have piled up. The last few weeks hasn't been easy but we've tried to push through it and are making amendments wherever necessary. It's tough work but we're getting by due to how supportive everyone is in general. I had finished for the day and was reedy to go back home and by home, I meant Dante's apartment. He'd found something else to do during that short period and though the pay was significantly smaller, Dante didn't seem to mind. According to him, it was much better than moping around and I couldn't agree more. Felix has also been helping out as well, sometimes with new job offers and I, mostly rely on my parents though I started an online boutique that seemed to be fetching me some significant amount of money too. All in all, everyone has tried to be supportive and we'd begun to yield results as the atmosphere in the apartment wasn't so depressing anymore.I
Dante."Felix, do you have any idea where Layla is?" I asked Felix the second he walked into the apartment. He paused in his tracks, staring at me quizzically. Glancing around the apartment, he turned back to me."Uh... No. Shouldn't she be back here by now?" He asked and I shook my head, bringing out my phone to try her number again."No... Which was is why I'm asking you. Maybe you know where she went. She hasn't come home yet." I told him while I watched my phone ring. It didn't take long for it to cut off, meaning she couldn't be reached. I was starting to really worry now."That's off. She left school a long time ago and told me she was coming back here. Why hasn't she arrived?" He also began to call her and I waited impatiently, thinking about all the possibilities. Layla wasn't one to to just wander off like that and if she was ever going anywhere, she always made to sure to inform us. What's happening now?"I also can't get to her. It keeps saying this line is unreachable." Fe
Layla. After hours of struggling to get free, I finally gave up and slumped on the chair, completely exhausted. So many times, I fought the urge to sob and cry as I was plagued with the fear and worry of Dante and Felix looking for me. Would they ever find me? I didn't even know where I was. I closed my eyes against the tears that was brimming in them, willing myself to he hopeful. My stomach soon grumbled, reminding me of the hunger I had forgotten due to nerves. Kidnapped or not, my body still made it demands. My mouth was parched too and I felt incredibly thirsty. I looked at the locked door, wondering if they would remember the woman they forgot here and maybe come with food.As if they heard my earnest pleas, I heard the sound of door unlocking and it soon swung open, a cart wheel of food being brought in by a masked person. The air was soon filled with the smell of delicious meals and my stomach grumbled louder than before, mortifying me. I watched in shame as the person placed
