Morning came quicker than I wanted it to. The fact that I would be going back to that workplace to answer for what I didn't do filled me with dread but at this point, there is a little I can do. Thankfully with Layla by my side, I was able to manage my distress a lot more better. Her quick thinking and proactivenes had helpede to stop actively thinking about the situation for a moment and it turned out to be greatly beneficial for me.

This morning, after I had finished dressing, I came down to a hot cup of coffee, some toast and bacon and Layla's lovely smile. I reached out to her first, pressing a kiss to her forehead.

"Hey love. Thanks for the meals as always." I muttered and she smiled brightly at me.
