Amelia's POV

"Tell me about your dream family," I requested, a shy smile gracing my lips.

Eddie's gaze turned dreamy, his eyes fixed on a point somewhere beyond the trees. "Two kids," he mused, "a boy and a girl. Maybe even a pair of rambunctious golden retrievers thrown into the mix."

My heart skipped a beat. "A boy and a girl?" I echoed, surprise laced with a tremor of delight.

"Yeah," he said, turning to look at me, his gaze locking onto mine. "A little girl with your laugh and your eyes, and a boy with your mischievous spirit and your artistic talent."

"Cooking is not an artistic talent," I said, mumbling.

"It is, Amelia. Especially your cooking," he replied, staring intensely into my eyes.
