Chapter 103.

Eddie's POV

After leaving Chloe with Amelia, I walked out of the house and met my driver, Mr John waiting outside for me. He looked tired and distressed, appearing even more so when he saw me. As he approached me, I wondered what was wrong.

John's normally stoic demeanor was etched with worry lines that deepened as he reached me. He cleared his throat, his voice raspy. "Mr. Edwards," he began, hesitating slightly. "There's been… a situation at home."

My gut clenched. Mr. John only lived for two things: his wife, Sarah, and their only child, a little boy named Tommy. Tommy was a late miracle child, arriving after years of Sarah struggling to conceive. He knew how precious and fragile their family unit was.

"What is it, John?" I asked, my voice losing its usual confident edge.

"It's Tommy, sir," he croaked. "He's come down with a bad case of the flu. High fever, chills... the doctor says it's hitting him harder than usual."
