Lorenzo's POV "Didn't you have any dreams?" Alpha Kai asked as Vera came into the throne room. He had run out of patience before she arrived. "Dreams? I slept so peacefully last night, like a baby. Lorenzo's POV The whole Pack was thrown into mourning. Alpha Kai was the last to arrive in the yard. Only a few members of the pack, who had the heart to watch the gory scenes that would unfold soon, came. Darius was dragged to the arena where a pyre had been set for his lynching. They took him to the top and tied him to a pole directly above the highest point of the pyre. The initial judgment was to behead him but Alpha Kai had changed it, he wanted to hear his cries while he would burn. Alpha Kai had settled on his throne, waiting for the guards to get off the pyre and Elder Rick to read out Darius's crimes to him. Lorenzo's POV It was almost midnight. I was suddenly awoken by some strange sounds coming from outside the room. Alpha Kai was sound asleep. I hissed as I realized that I had been too suspicious for no reason. I laid back to continue my sleep. Alpha Kai would have been the first to wake if there was something wrong. As I was getting ready to sleep, I realized that I couldn't. A part of me just didn't allow me. I got up and started walking around the room. Suddenly, I saw a faint shadow ran across the compound as I looked out the window. I was sure I saw someone but the guards were all over the palace. Lorenzo's POV This was to be a game, a long one. Vera was protecting her love, Alex. I also had to do the same for Alpha Kai. She was an old witch but I was the Luna, the first she wolf of the pack. Lorenzo's POV All the dungeons kept shaking as Alex yelled at the top of his voice. He was obviously going through some pain. I stood at the gates of the cell, trying to make sure Alpha Kai didn't get to know about what was going on down here. "Why is he yelling like that? Can you keep it low?" I finally inquired after I had gotten fed up with the yelling. "I think the shackles are sending the spirits back into his body. He is in great pain and I'm afraid that's how he will keep yelling," Vera replied, straining her voice. I leaned into the cell and saw Alex, he was now seated in the middle of some drawings made by Vera, who was already sweating. "The spirits? The same ones that need to be sent out?" I noticed that Alex's face had become calm and he seemed cooperative except for the noise. If anything is wrong, we should be among the first set of people to know," Elder Bard divulged to me with his shaky head and voice while Elder Rick nodded to show his support for his words. I felt a little disappointed by them. They were the elders of this pack that I used to regard highly. Unfortunately, they had stooped so low, acting and confronting me about rumors. There were better ways to discuss trivia issues like this but they chose to make my problems more complicated instead of making them less severe with proper assistance. Lorenzo's POV A few hours earlier, I heard some strange wind blowing in the bedchamber as I was locked up in the dark closet. I couldn't guess what was happening but it felt like I was losing my sanity. After a while, I became bothered and started questioning myself. Had I been possessed? Why would I be helping a man who was hellbent on killing my Alpha mate? Was Vera deceiving me to use me? Why would she do that? What would she gain from that? Did she have to gain anything before showing her wickedness? I knew I would get out of this, it might not be soon though. "Alpha Kai, I took responsibility for all that I did and I am ready to face the punishments attracted by my actions." He went lower to appear down-to-earth.
