The First Guest

I left the dressing room with Leo and headed to the first floor.

"We are sorry for just arriving, Mira was stuck with preparing for her assignment." Leo said to Karima before I could even say anything. He defended me quite well there.

The rest of the team were already around and so we had to be on two straight lines and then walked out the moment a convoy arrived at the entrance of the resort.

I swallowed so hard, to totally suppress my anxiety and it was working.

"I can do this." I muttered quietly to myself as the climax moment was here.

One of the guys stationed at the entrance of the resort opened the door so the VVIP guest could step out and I stepped closer to the door, ready to welcome him. Leo had mentioned to me earlier that we all used to get a profiling on our guests to know the kind of person they were but Karima did not do this time around. The reason, he too could not explain.

Either way, I trusted my long period of rehearsals to not fail me. I was meant to bow at ninety degrees first then raise my head when he was out.

A strong, extraordinary but sweet cologne filled my nostrils as he stepped out. My nostrils became so sensitive all of a sudden like it happened the night I shifted.

The scent was choking me but I maintained my composure. My eyes fell on black, well polished shoes and as I raised my head, I assessed him. Carton brown three-piece suit with a white inner shirt.

I was already prepared to see this young, VIP guest's face and then I saw a sharp, well-shaped face with dark brown eyes and a silky black, styled hair.

My pupils quivered when I took in his look. 'This guy...' My brain took me back down the memory lane to remember where I had seen him then it dawned on me. My heart sank immediately and I shivered unnoticeably.

I did not even realize I was staring at his face now without saying anything. He was the guy from the pool a few days ago, the one that strangely disappeared within a few minutes.

Or was I mistaken? There's no way I was. I was so torn and I did not get it together until I heard, "Mira!" in my head. It was Karima's voice.

Immediately, I got jolted out of my thoughts and put on a broad, insincere smile. "Welcome to Greenville Resort, sir. It's an honour to serve you." I said and bowed again. Then the other team members made way for him to go through and then some guys followed him, they seemed to be securities but one of them particularly was like his personal assistant.

I followed them immediately because I was supposed to take the lead, then some of the team members were behind.

We had him ride in a  private elevator to his suite. We got into the expensive and luxurious suite, where there were two big and grand living rooms, a dining room and a bedroom.

The other team members, except for Karima and Leo followed me with him into the suite. His guards stationed themselves at the door while he just went in with his personal assistant.

"Could I have your lunch order, sir?" I asked him but his personal assistant turned around.

"No, for now. We will reach out when we need you." He replied, acting and speaking so politely. The VIP guest had his back turned against us and I was still very stunned about him.

"Alright, sir. We will take our leave now." I announced and when we turned around to leave, I heard a voice say, "Wait."

I was shocked again as I halted my steps. Karima and Leo did the same too. We turned around and realized the guest had said that.

He took some strides closer to where I was and just stared at me, shifting me into an uncomfortable state.

"What's your name?" The personal assistant asked and I crinkled my brows a little, wondering why he was asking that.

"He is the one asking that." He said again to clarify and I bowed my head immediately.

"I am sorry. I am..Mira Silver." I replied, wondering why the guy could not speak by himself.

"Alright, you can leave." The personal assistant said and then we left.

I swear I was not breathing the whole time in there. Colour had drained off my face and I was pale.

"You look like you just saw a ghost." Karima pointed out as soon as we got out but I couldn't even reply to her.

"Good job in there, Mira. There were some errors but you will get better with time." Leo commented as we walked back with the team into the elevator.

"You were not overly excited but you seemed a bit too strict with your facial expressions. That's very professional." Karima added and I just nodded in response. I could not say a word because beyond their compliments, I had a whole lot running through my mind.

I could not even share the story with anyone because who would believe that?

As soon as we got to our floor and stepped out, Karima proposed lunch with she and Leo. Even though I wanted to be alone, I had no strength to turn her down so I just complied.

As we had a simple dish for lunch, something dropped in my mind. "Karima." I called out and she looked up at me, diving her attention between her meal and me.

"Earlier, when the VVIP guest arrived, did you perhaps call my name at any point in time?" I inquired and she looked confused for a bit.

"No, I did not, why?" She responded and I furrowed my brows. What was going on? I was very sure I heard her call my name but now she said she did not. Was I hallucinating?

"Nothing, I think I just... hallucinated something." I replied, trying to close it up with a smile.

 "Leo." Karima called, facing him.

"Yeah?"

"Do not forget to share the guest's profile with Mira, I forwarded it to your email already. The higher-ups did not send it on time so it was delayed for that reason."

"Oh..okay!"
