I later got his profile and I diligently went through it on the computer in my allocated space. It was a general office for the team but her spaces were demarcated well. Only the team leads, Karima and Leo, had their own special offices.
My space wasn't bad actually. It was well furnished and we had a kitchen room where we could eat lunch, make instant coffee and tea, too.
Leo forwarded the VVIP guest's profile to me and I was quick to go through it.Jordan Reign, 30, he barely talks-prefers to listen and observe, that was very obvious at our first meeting. He prefers a perfectly quiet environment, loves nature...and I guessed that was why his suite was openly facing the ocean, with green trees around, it was also stated that he was cranky and short-tempered.
He loved absolute order and efficiency, cigars, and classical music. His dislikes stated noise and disorder, unnecessary attention, I guessed he preferred staying in the shadows. He hated it when people talked too much, we had that in common. 'No ginger' was stated there too, for his foods and drinks.
Beyond all of these, I was still very shocked because he looked so much like the man I had seen in the pool that day, bleeding. They looked exactly like each other. The dark brown eyes with blood shots, the hair colour, the face...I could not tell about other parts but the face I was very sure of.
He clearly saw me that day too but seeing him now, he did not flinch a bit as if he had never seen me. We did not even have any eye contact and I doubted he saw me.
I was so torn and could not get it out of my mind. The profile ended with the picture of the guy who was with him earlier who turned out to be his personal assistant, bodyguard and right hand. All three in one. Kai Wren. There was nothing like his background or businesses in the profile.I relaxed in my seat and sighed, impatiently glancing at the clock each minute while waiting to get an order from Karima to attend to any of his needs. Working hours finally ended without getting a call from his suite.
Leo stepped out of his office to the general office carrying a list.
"The following names are those who will be on the night shift, to serve our guest, Mr. Jordan Reign." He announced and I swallowed hard, my heart racing. I wished to death that he would call 'Mira Silver'. I had always wanted to go home but this time around, I was crazily yearning to wait behind for the night."That's all. You all know the rules, nobody gets to switch shifts." He declared and my jaw dropped. He mentioned five names without calling my name.
I sighed and gritted my teeth. The annoying part was, I did not know how long he would be staying at the resort. He could be leaving the next day even, and that would be the end of it.I removed the band holding my hair in a ponytail and ran my fingers through my hair. It was that serious. I really needed to do something fast! And it was already in his profile the kind of person he was, not approachable at all. It didn't look like it would be possible to get through to his P.A. too.
"Not heading home, Mira?" I had Karima say and I looked up to see her standing behind me.
Immediately and clumsily, I got out of my chair and stood up. "I...I'm heading home now. I was preparing to." I replied her as I hurriedly shut down the computer and picked my phone. I came here with nothing else.Karima smiled. "You are yet to take off your uniform." She pointed out and I let out an 'oh'. I had actually gone to work in a causal outfit as was the supposed norm, then changed into the uniform at work. Karima had changed into her causal wear too.
"Just two minutes please." I gave her cute puppy eyes as I ran off to the changing room meant for the females. I changed into a pair of jeans and a modest cropped knitted top.
We headed to the ground floor, and outside to the designated parking lot.
"But aren't you supposed to stay the night?" I asked her. She was the team lead after all and was supposed to supervise everything. "Yeah, I have the whole evening to myself then I will return later, around 9 PM. Leo is on duty right now." She replied as we got into the car.The evening was quite warm and I contemplated what to have for dinner. I was suddenly craving something delicious.
"I would like to treat you to dinner, Karima." I suddenly said out of the blue. It took me a lot of courage to say that even though I was getting quite comfortable with her already, not so much though. She chuckled softly. "Why?"
I furrowed my brows, not expecting that question. "Because I want to. I cook so well, by the way." I said to her. "Oh, haven't seen you done that before. You seemed to have lost all interest in eating well when we first met, what happened?" She asked."Hm. That's a story for another day. You are down for dinner at my place?" I asked again and she nodded.
"Gladly." There was silence for a while as we drove into the main city, heading to our apartment complex. "Can you play the piano?" She asked randomly. "Uh...yes, I can. Why?" I had always played the piano since I was a child but I stopped immediately I got married to Adrien. He was not so interested in it so I gave it up. But I played so well before then and now I was not so sure if my skills were still there."Beautiful. I would like you to play a classical piece, live. It's for our guest."
My ears stretched and my eyes widened on hearing that. "Mr. Jordan?" She nodded and my heart started pounding against my chest. Nervousness took me over. This was more like a chance to meet with him but I felt something was not adding up.I kept my cool, anyway. I should not appear desperate.
"Why me? We could just play a recorded piece by one of the top pianists in the world." That was very true. Greenville had all it took to get a grand pianist to play for Jordan Reign."Mr Jordan is a deluxe yet simple personality." She responded and that was it.
"9 AM tomorrow, you play for him in his room. There's a piano in there already. And I also have one in my apartment, if you would love to rehearse." She instructed and I just nodded. While Karima was out, I played so vigorously on the piano in her apartment. I had been on it for hours and I did not plan to stop anytime soon. At some point, I relaxed my finger muscles and played a solemn piece I had always played right from my learning days. I knew how to play it best! And so that was what I planned to play for Jordan Reign. After an extra hour of rehearsing, I took my fingers off the piano. If I stayed any more minute, my fingers could become stiff and eventually mess up the real performance. I glanced at the time and saw that it was 2 at midnight. I sighed gently and I looked around, standing up from the bench I sat on. My body was almost numb. It was my first time staying this long at her apartment, being there even. Her apartment's theme was a bit plainer than mine and I guessed she had a bland taste, but everything there was luxurious.I walked to her kitchen to get a glass of water as I was dehydrated, then as I gulped down the natural liquid, I heard some
I was woken up in the morning by Karima's call. I swear, if she had not called me at that time, I would have gotten late for work. Apparently, she was back at her apartment to prepare for the day. Immediately the call ended, I walked into the shower and had a warm bath, then I put on casual wears with sneakers then waited patiently for her to be done.I would have gone up to her unit but the trauma I had the previous day was real, funny enough so I just waited on my floor. She reached out to me when she was done and we headed down to Greenville Resort together. "Are you well prepared for this?" She asked and I nodded.. "I am." I replied amidst my various thoughts. Ugh... there was a whole lot on my mind but I was not losing it yet. The stuff with Karima's music box bothered me, combined with my unsettled tummy out of the nervousness towards playing for our dear VVIP guest. It was even the way Karima was selling me out. I had not worked in any organization before but she was sure
"He wants me to play again for him by 7 tonight." I said to Karima as we headed to the office. Midway, we met Maria, the female lead of the team one, the one that did not like Karima. Some way, I had found out about her name and some details from some of my teammates' discussion.Again, she had that contemptuous look when she saw us coming and this time around, she stopped to speak. "Here goes the so-called Iron woman, who gets everything done." Maria said in a mocking manner and a smirk appeared on Karima's face. She did not even spare Maria a glance and just walked past her, I did the same too, feeling funnily sorry for her. What the heck was that non-verbal, punchy response Karima gave her?The look on Maria's face was killing, like the other day I had met her. Jealousy and anger were written all over her bodly. She obviously hated the fact that most guests preferred Karima's services and by default, services from our team to Maria's team, even though they were the first team.It
The other guest was Harrison Louis, a government official, a VVIP guest too and from the discussions between others that I overheard, it turned out the guest were initially meant for team one, Maria's team. But they made a mistake during one of their services and the guest angrily requested for another team to serve him. "I even heard Karima was not going to accept it." One of them chipped in."Of course, it's wrong for her to. It's more like handing over a leftover, but she had to take it just for the guest's sake." Another replied. As we headed to the man's room with three of my senior colleagues and Rowland, I remained quiet throughout. We got to the floor where the man's suite was, only to see so many guards there, securing. I wrinkled my brows, was this really necessary? They had us all scanned with a machine before we were allowed in.I just watched calmly, to learn. I was the type that gained mastery just by observing, it was my wiring. "The agents are here already, sir." On
I was shocked when he walked in. Why was he here? What was he looking for? It seemed like he came for trouble but he was actually calmer than anyone in that space. Harrison seemed to recognize him too, but he was not dazed by him."Yes, how may I help you...Mr...Reign?" He raised his voice immediately. As if he had not heard anyone speak, Jordan walked towards us and sent a dreadful stare at Karima, she immediately took her face down."3PM, that was the instruction." He let out calmly but in annoyance. "I am sorry, sir. There's been a bit of a situation."He moved his gaze away from her and to me, then he just stared. In return, I moved my own eyes to Karima, questioning her non-verbally about what was going on. 3PM? What was supposed to happen then?"You were supposed to play for him by 3, plans changed." She mentioned and an 'o' escaped my lips. I realized he was still staring at me and I took my eyes down immediately. "Join me up there in ten minutes. I don't care about what h
It was my first time in that suite's bedroom. This place was beyond luxury and grandness, the bedroom was super spacious and well furnished. "Sit on the bed." He ordered and the red alerts really got triggered in my mind. What are we doing? I looked at him and saw the dreadful glare at me, no one told me before I complied.Honestly, I don't know how and why but he got me there. There was a strong pull. He moved closer to me and instead of defending myself or something, I closed my eyes out of fear, not anticipation now.I was literally at his control, it felt more like a supernatural thing. I don't know what happened but I could feel something refreshing on my skin. Opening my eyes slowly, I discovered his eyes were closed and his hands were above my head, make a certain, calm gesture above my head.Soon, he opened his eyes and they were now in Amber colour, I could see the flames in them. He did not even spare me a glance, right before me, he closed his eyes and opened them again,
The song went on and I could not just wrap my head around the whole thing happening. Again, some strange wind swept me off my feet and I fell to the ground. Jordan was in front of me the next second. "You are dying here." He asserted and I frowned. What did he mean by that? Dying? He was really going to kill me? I scrunched my brows. "Could you be any heartless? Firstly you bring a young woman in here to get into an unfair combat and now what?" He smirked obviously. "Is that an avenue for you to keep being weak? You brought it upon yourself, own up to it or at least pretend to have some strength." He ran his mouth real good at that point, and he was extremely calm too.His words triggered something in me and I felt anger within myself. It was mainly because it reminded me of when I was still in my father's pack, and also at Adrien's. Despite being the daughter of the Alpha, I did not escape the gossips, bashing, mockery that came from all sorts of people just because I was an O
Waking up, I met myself on the bed in a familiar room. It was Karima's, I perceived her Cologne around and I guessed it had rubbed off her bed. I got up, remembering everything that happened before I passed out. I felt my heart leapt immediately I remembered what happened with Jordan Reign.I got off the bed and walked out to look for Karima. She was nowhere to be found. I really wanted to know how I got here, how I left that forest. Then I saw a blue sticky note on the dining table. *Stepped out to sort some things. I prepared dinner already.*I checked the time and saw that it was around 9PM in the night. I had been off this world for close to six hours. But I was very hungry and thirsty! I moved to the kitchen area and got a glass of water to drink, then without thinking I moved on to eat the meal she had prepared. No exaggeration but Karima really knew this thing.I had it all stuffed in my mind and when I was done, I got up and went for the refrigerator. I picked out a juice
