Leonardo strode into Caterina's room with his heart beating wildly. He had just returned from taking care of sending a drug package out of town. The man couldn't wait to see Catrina. He inhaled roughly, trying to look his usual self. That face looked so flat and cold; a hostile aura seemed to radiate from him.
When he opened the door to the room, he was left speechless. Because there was only an empty bed there. The bed looked a little messy, a sign that it had been used up and had not been tidied up. There was no beautiful figure of Caterina that he missed and craved.
Leonardo looked around, finding nothing but emptiness.
“Kate!” Leonardo called out. His baritone voice bounced around the room. “Are you in the bathroom?” He asked, but there was no answer.
Leonardo stepped inside, his long legs guiding him steadily towards the bathroom door. When he turned the doorknob, the bathroom door opened and showed that there was no one there. His wild mind began to wander. He squeezed the doorknob roughly, a sign that he was upset. His face looked so flushed with anger.
Leonardo stepped out of the room with his emotions in control. He had guessed that Caterina had run away.
“Get me the maid who took care of Kate today!” Leonardo gave the order sharply. The look in his eyes was deadly. The look on his face tonight was much colder than usual.
The servants rushed to carry out the orders Leonardo gave. The luxurious mansion felt very cold tonight. Not a single person dared to make a sound, as Leonardo's anger had burned away their courage.
“What is it, sir?” A woman came forward with a pale face. Her heart was beating rapidly. She knew this was bound to happen, for she had been given orders to look after Caterina today, and she had failed in her duty.
A slap landed on the woman's face, leaving a red mark with the image of a palm there.
“I gave you orders to guard Caterina. Where is she now? I know you must know about her escape plan. I'm giving you one chance to tell me where she went. If you lie to me, I'm not sure that I will spare you.” Leonardo said with emphasis. He looked at the woman with a deadly glare.
The woman looked down, trying to avoid the glare she was receiving. Her body trembled at the thought that she would die because of this. She wanted to answer, but her mouth was clamped shut. Her palms were cold and sweaty. She did not dare to look up and answer. Even the sting on her cheek from the slap Leonardo gave her was overpowered by the fear she felt.
“Answer!” Leonardo's voice raised. “This house is filled with CCTV; don't let me find out for myself. If I discover Caterina's whereabouts without an explanation from you, I'm sure you'll regret not wanting to answer my questions.”
“Sir, I—” The woman uttered in a very stammering manner.
“I'm sorry, Mr. Bianchi. I was the one who asked my daughter to leave; the maid is completely innocent. She has nothing to do with this matter. I didn't want Kate to die, so I asked her to leave. I deserve to die.” Dante approached, he knelt before Leonardo and resigned himself to death. For him this was an honor, because he could save his daughter by sacrificing himself.
Leonardo fell silent at Dante's confession. His jaw hardened, his face visibly flushed. His hands were clenched tightly into fists. He stared intently at Dante, but he could do nothing. Dante was the father of the woman he loved. If he did anything to Dante, he could be sure Caterina would never forgive him.
Leonardo walked away without making any comment. He wasn't sure that he could hold himself together if he continued to be there. His only goal now was to find Caterina as soon as possible. He didn't want to suffer the pain of longing for a long time.
“Let's go to Puerto Vallarta now!” Leonardo gave orders to his men. He was sure that Caterina would return there because Gabriel was there. He didn't think that Caterina's love for Gabriel would be that great.
Dante panicked when he heard that his boss would follow Caterina to the town where he had taken his daughter. He wanted to follow, but he didn't want to make things worse and make Leonardo even angrier with him. He could only pray that his daughter would always be well.
“I hope you don't get caught again this time.” Dante said hopefully.
The car drove straight towards the hospital where Caterina worked at breakneck speed. They even ran the usual red lights. As a mobster who ruled most of the cities in Mexico, he feared nothing. There is nothing in this world that Leonardo fears, not even death. If he met the Grim Reaper, he would probably pick a fight with him.
The car stopped when they arrived at their destination. It was already very quiet there, because it was almost dawn. Leonardo and his men began to create chaos. Everyone was running around in fear.
“Where's Caterina?” Leonardo grabbed a female doctor by the neck. One of his men pressed the mouth of a pistol against her forehead as a threat to make her answer truthfully.
The doctor looked very frightened with a trembling body. The tip of her eye stared at the trigger of the gun that could be pulled at any time.
“Are you deaf? Where's Caterina?!” The man in the all-black uniform repeated the question Leonardo had asked.
“P-please don't shoot me. Doctor Caterina has resigned; she said she was moving to another city to find a new atmosphere.” The woman replied with a violently trembling voice.
“She brought her boyfriend's body?” Leonardo asked for confirmation.
“Boyfriend? I didn't know that Doctor Caterina had a boyfriend.”
Leonardo was a little pleased to hear that answer. That means Caterina's confession about her feelings for Gabriel was just a lie. Now Leonardo is getting big-headed; he feels Caterina's love is still for him.
“Where did she go?”
“I don't know; I really don't know. She didn't tell me which city she was going to.”
“Where is Gabriel's body?” Leonardo asked again; perhaps he could bring Gabriel's body to lure Caterina into showing herself.
“Rossie took him away to be treated by the best doctor.”
“Who is she?”
“If I'm not mistaken, she's the younger sister of the leader of an organization called Phoenix Crew. I don't know for sure, but it might be true.”
Leonardo released his grip on the woman's neck. He was silent for a moment, his forehead visibly creased after hearing that sentence. He tried to remember the incident the other day, when he shot Gabriel and a woman blamed Caterina for the shot Gabriel got. If that woman was indeed the sister of one of the mafia, then Caterina was in danger.
“Call in more troops. We'll split up to look for Caterina all over the city.” Leonardo gave orders to his men, then left the hospital quickly.
Marco dragged Caterina roughly towards his luxurious mansion. Caterina could only surrender; she rubbed her wrists, which looked red, because Marco's grip was quite rough. She looked around. This mansion felt more like a 'home' than Leonardo's luxurious mansion. In this mansion, there were many pieces of furniture and displays on the walls. The color of the wall paint is more vivid; there is a PS5 Pro, a billiard table, a ball, and a baseball bat. There are many games that can be played. It seemed that Marco knew how to enjoy life better than Leonardo.“You will stay here until I get bored.” Marco informed as he released his grip on Caterina's wrist.“You home!” Rossie appeared after she heard her brother's voice. The smile that was on her lips suddenly disappeared when she saw Caterina. Her gaze was so sharp, as if she was about to stab. There was an air of hostility emanating from within her. She had never liked Caterina in the slightest.“She will stay here,” Marco informed.Rossie
Caterina looked around. Just as Marco had said, there were guards in every corner of the room. Their faces looked so scary; their bodies were tall and bulky with clearly defined muscles. Caterina's every move never escaped their watchful eyes.Caterina felt so depressed. She was uncomfortable with such close surveillance because she was already like a high-profile prisoner. She had no opening at all for escape planning. She remembered the way to the exit, but she could not roam freely. Moreover, Marco had warned her that his men could do anything. The sharp-nosed woman sighed harshly. There was nothing she could do but sit in front of the television to pass the time. She had resigned herself to her life, because no one would look for her, let alone save her. Although his heart was shrouded in anxiety, she appeared calm from the outside.“Are you still here?” Rossie returned out of nowhere. She was still as upset as before. The look in her eyes for Caterina showed how much she hated th
Marco dragged Caterina to his room. He roughly dumps her sexy body onto the bed. Her face was flushed with a fierce look. His breath was ragged, his blood rushing. He looked like a predator about to pounce on his prey. The athletic man also climbed onto the bed. He unbuttoned his shirt one by one while his gaze never left Caterina's face. He couldn't wait to fuck her body. He wanted to feel the sensation of making love to a woman who didn't want him.“What do you want?” Caterina stared in fear. Her heart raced when she met the gaze she received. Cold sweat started to break out; she could imagine what Marco would do to her. When Marco was about to pounce on her, Caterina immediately dodged. She jumped off the bed with lightning speed. She ran to the door, about to leave the room. When she turned the handle, the door was locked from the inside.Marco smiled lasciviously when he saw the panic on Caterina's face.“You can't go anywhere now. “You shouldn't have called a doctor for her. Just let her die.” Rossie commented with annoyance.Marco knew Rossie wouldn't want to check Caterina's condition, which was why he called another doctor. Fortunately, they were not too late, so Caterina's life could still be saved.“I still need her. I promise you, I'll finish her off once I've managed to work on her. Leonardo likes her; having Caterina in my hands is tantamount to holding the deadliest weapon for Leonardo. I will trade Caterina's life for Leonardo's decline as head of La Vendetta.” The handsome man tried to explain his reasoning to his sister.“I don't care what your reasons are. Did you forget your promise to me? You said you'd fulfill all my wishes, but you can't even kill a small insect. I'll do it with my own hands if you don't want to do it.” Rossie said firmly, this time she wasn't playing around with her threat.Marco sighed harshly. He didn't want to disappoint his sister, but he really couldn't finish Caterina no
“Sir, Kate's have been found. She works at a hospital in Puerto Vallarta.” A man informed Leo as he handed over several photos showing Kate treating patients in the emergency department.Leonardo Bianchi was his name. A leader of the biggest mafia organization in Mexico. He was very handsome; the lines of his face were so firm, and he had such a sharp and deadly look in his eyes.“Prepare the car; we're going there now!” Leonardo gave the order. He squeezed the photo sheet very hard. His jaw hardened; his breathing sounded heavy. It had been six months since Kate had left the base. He couldn't wait to see her again. Six months was not a short time to endure longing.Leonardo rose to his feet as the car was prepared. Together with some of his men, they sped off to the neighboring town where Kate was known to be working. Some of the cars stopped and parked haphazardly when they arrived at their destination. Their aura was dominating, especially Leonardo, who looked so scary.People ran
Leonardo stopped his steps after he heard that sentence. He turned around, looking at the man in the doctor's suit standing before him. He looked at the man carefully. Gabriel looked very handsome with soft facial lines. His eyeballs were so beautiful; his body was also quite muscular for a doctor. Leonardo felt that the man was handsome enough to be his rival.“What did you say?” Leonardo asked for confirmation.“Kate is my girlfriend; face me first if you want to take her away.” Gabriel said firmly.“Gabriel, don't mess with him. Do you know who he is? Don't sacrifice yourself for a woman who doesn't want you.” Rossie warned. That woman had liked her coworker first, but Caterina's presence there had defeated her position. She had liked Gabriel for the past two years, but Caterina had stolen Gabriel's heart since the first day she started working there.Leonardo smiled sarcastically. “So that's it, one-sided love, huh?” He said in a sarcastic and condescending tone.“Gabriel, he's no
Caterina's cries echoed throughout the room. Her trembling hands embraced the bloodied body. She hugged Gabriel tightly, trying her best to wake him up.“No, Gabriel. Come on, wake up! Open your eyes!” Caterina patted Gabriel's cheek repeatedly, trying to wake the unconscious man.Leonardo clenched his hands hard when the woman he liked hugged another man right in front of him. Not just hugging, the woman even cried for the other man.“What the hell are you doing!” Rossie approached. She pushed Caterina so roughly that her embrace on Gabriel's body slipped away. She quickly tried to administer first aid. She tried to stop the bleeding. Although she looked calm, she was actually panicking right now.“Take him to the emergency room!” Rossie ordered her other coworkers. She didn't have much time, as Gabriel had received a fatal gunshot wound.Immediately, Gabriel's weak body was brought to the emergency room.Caterina got up; she was about to follow them to the emergency room so that she
Caterina woke up with her head still feeling dizzy. She blinked repeatedly to clear her vision. She was very confused about the room she was in, as it was her first time there. All the objects there were completely foreign to her. They were all high-class items. The door opened with the presence of a maid. Thanks to Caterina and Dante's experience in the mafia, they were able to leave the base safely. No one knew about Caterina's escape plan except Lucy. All the gatekeepers knew was that Dante had left the compound to buy stock medicine, as he was the only doctor in La Vendetta.Caterina asked her father to drive her to the hospital where she worked. She wants to make sure Gabriel survives the shot Leonardo gave him. At first Dante refused, because he was afraid that Caterina's presence there would be quickly discovered by Leonardo's other men. However, Caterina insisted, so Dante had no other choice.“Live well out there. Avoid fights with any groups. Never cause trouble for the sake of a safe life. I've sacrificed myself for your safety, so you should use your life well this time.” Dante gave his final message. It was hard for him to let go of his daughter, but he had to do it anyway.Caterina smiled faintly. She nodded, then gave him one last hug before getting out of the car. They w
