10. Leonardo's Anger

“You shouldn't have called a doctor for her. Just let her die.” Rossie commented with annoyance.

Marco knew Rossie wouldn't want to check Caterina's condition, which was why he called another doctor. Fortunately, they were not too late, so Caterina's life could still be saved.

“I still need her. I promise you, I'll finish her off once I've managed to work on her. Leonardo likes her; having Caterina in my hands is tantamount to holding the deadliest weapon for Leonardo. I will trade Caterina's life for Leonardo's decline as head of La Vendetta.” The handsome man tried to explain his reasoning to his sister.

“I don't care what your reasons are. Did you forget your promise to me? You said you'd fulfill all my wishes, but you can't even kill a small insect. I'll do it with my own hands if you don't want to do it.” Rossie said firmly, this time she wasn't playing around with her threat.

Marco sighed harshly. He didn't want to disappoint his sister, but he really couldn't finish Caterina now.

“Give me one month.” Marco said in such a convincing tone.

Rossie didn't answer; she just snorted in annoyance and hurried away.

Marco rubbed his face roughly. He stared at the back of his sister, who started to move away from him. He had never felt such a dilemma before. Usually he immediately finishes the person who disturbs his sister's life.

Marco called one of his men. “Send this to La Vendetta; make sure Leonardo receives it.” The man said as he handed over a brown folder. It contained pictures of Caterina lying weak with a pale face and no clothes on. He hoped this would provoke Leonardo's anger.

“Yes, sir.” The man replied respectfully, then left to carry out the task Marco had given him.

On the other side of the city, Leonardo and his men were trying to locate Caterina. Leonardo was convinced that Caterina had been taken away by Marco. However, they did not manage to find the Phoenix Crew headquarters at all. Marco is very good at hiding. Several locations that he had used as headquarters had been visited by Leonardo and his men. However, the base was empty, because Marco and his men always moved from time to time. They never stay in one place for long.

The car driven by Leonardo was traveling at high speed through the city streets. Until a black car suddenly stopped in front of them. Inevitably, Leonardo had to stop the car to avoid a collision.

“Damn, I'll teach him a lesson.” Alex fastened his firearm, then prepared to get out of the car.

However, the man's steps were immediately halted when Leonardo grabbed his arm. “We don't have time for this. Finding Caterina is more important.” Leonardo said with emphasis.

Leonardo couldn't calm down since he knew that Caterina was dealing with Marco. He knew that Marco was merciless to his enemies. Moreover, the man knew that Caterina was once part of La Vendetta. That would endanger his life even more.

When he was about to get back on the gas, a man got out of the black car and walked towards the car driven by Leonardo. The man tapped on the window, asking Leonardo to open the window.

Leonardo could only sigh with annoyance, he opened the window, then looked at the man on the side of his car. He looked at the man intently, his forehead furrowed as he tried to remember who the man was. His face was so familiar. When he saw the tattoo on the man's neck, Leonardo realized that the man was a member of the Phoenix Crew. That meant he was Marco's man.

“I don't want to make a scene. I just wanted to hand this over on my boss's orders.” The man handed over the envelope, then hurried away after Leonardo gave it to him.

“Sir, he is our enemy. Do I need to immobilize him and ask for Kate's location?” Alex, who was Leonardo's accomplice, asked for confirmation.

“Take my place to drive; you follow where the car goes.” Leonardo gave the order. They exchanged positions. Leonardo sat on the seat beside the steering wheel, while Alex took over the controls.

The car started traveling at a moderate speed, following the black car in front of them. Alex tried as hard as he could so that their presence would not be noticed by the driver of the car they were following.

“Aren't you curious what's in that envelope?” Alex looked at the yellow envelope in Leonardo's hand.

Leonardo stared at the envelope. He opened it and looked at the contents without thinking badly. However, his face turned red as soon as he saw the photo sheet. He squeezed the sheet very hard. His jaw hardened; his teeth chattered. The fire of anger instantly burned in his chest.

“He's really looking to die.” Leonardo said with emphasis. Never before had he felt this angry. How could he be calm and quiet when he knew that the woman he loved so much was being treated so cruelly? He didn't know what Marco had done to Caterina. However, looking at the pictures of Caterina naked and unconscious, Leonardo's wild mind could guess.

During their time together, Leonardo had never even seen Caterina's naked body. Now another man was enjoying it. His chest felt hot; he was angry, jealous, and frustrated, all mixed together. If he had confessed his feelings for Caterina when he brought her home a few days ago, Caterina would not have tried to run away from him.

“Go after that car and take out the people inside.” Leonardo made a decision. He didn't want to forgive anyone who had dared to play with fire.

“Call the others; have them rush here immediately. I already know where we should go.”
