Chapter 6

I shook my head, shaking myself out of the trance and stood straight. He was Still looking at me with an amused look until he stood up and moved his face closer again.

"I told you last night, you have something that belongs to me." He whispered in my ear, his hot breath fanning my ear.

I gulped.

"As far as I know, we've never met before, well, not until two days ago at the cafe where you saved me from falling. And I swear, I didn't steal anything from you so what stuff of yours do I have with me because I'm confused!" I said flailing my hands in the air.

He smiled. "My orb." He said simply.

"Your what now?" I said and this time around, my voice went up. It was then I'd realized the whole class was watching our little drama. My cheeks turned red.

I sighed. "Follow me." I said and dragged him out of class into the empty hallways.

"You said I have your....uhm what was it again..?" I cracked my brain trying to remember what he called it earlier.

"Orb." He said.

"Yeah, orb. What is even that??? I already swore I didn't steal anything from you. I don't even know what it is."

"Well, you wouldn't know what it is because you didn't steal it intentionally." He said.

"Oh really." I put my hands on my waist looking up at him with one of my eyebrows raised.

I realized something and suddenly gasped using my hands to cover my mouth dramatically.

"What?" He gave me a confused look.

"Hold on, hold on. Don't tell me you're going to say something cringey like "You stole my heart." Because that seems like where you're heading to. Omg cringeeeeee." I said with my hands still over my mouth and my eyes wide.

Raven stared at me blankly like he was trying to process what I'd just said. He suddenly burst out laughing.

"What's funny." I said glaring at him.

When he noticed the glare on my face, he finally stopped laughing. He wiped off the tears from laughing off his face and sniffed, finally calming down.

"Oh Lord, you're so funny. Don't get ahead of yourself Jasmine. You're not even my type. I don't like short girls." He said and I scoffed at his statement.

"You didn't steal my heart. You stole my orb. My energy marble and if I don't retrieve it from you, you'll die." He suddenly got serious.

"I'll die? Energy marble? What in hell's gate are you talking about? I'm confused."

"I'm not supposed to tell you anything about this but I have to tell you anyways since you're with the marble and I'll need you to get it back. Meet me at the library during lunch." He said and walked back into the class leaving me dumbfounded in the hallways.

I sighed and gathered myself and also walked back into the class, earning a few looks from my classmates.

I slammed my butt on my seat.

"What's with you two. You guys were totally flirting with each other." Ria nudged me and winked.

"What's wrong with short girls? Short girls are adorable, pretty and smart. We're also the best girlfriend material. That jerk." I muttered, balling my hands into a fist.

"Huh?" Ria gave a confused look. "Why the sudden talk about short girls? omg, did Raven reject you because you're short? Oh poor you. Life goes on bestie. They're plenty other guys out there who love short girls." Ria said as she pat my head with sympathy.

.I swatted her hand off and scowled.

"What are you talking about? pfft! like I'd ever like or confess to someone like him. Even if he rejects me, that's his loss because short girls are fabulous." I said facing Ria but directing my words at Raven.

I glares at him and he reciprocated my glare with a smirk. That idiot.

"Are you still thinking about what I said? Jasmine?" Raven said loudly enough for the whole class to hear, with a stupid smirk on his face.

The whole class began to whisper among themselves.

I shot up from my seat.

"Oh no no no no no. You guys shouldn't misunderstand. What are you saying Raven?! You didn't say anything. Guys, we didn't talk about anything serious." I panicked.

"Really? Then why are you getting all worked up?" He said smirking, again.

"Grrrrrr, I don't like you." I said, glaring at him.

"But I like you." He said smiling with mischief dancing in his eyes.

"I thought you said you don't like short girls." I scoffed, folding my arms across my chest.

"Well, you're an exception." He smiled, revealing his dimples.

The whole class went "ouuuuuuuuu"

My cheeks flushed at what he said.

"Y-you....y-you're." I tried to say something but my words got stuck.

Raven tilted his head a little to the side with a teasing smile on his face as if say "What? you've got something to say?"

As much as I hate to admit, his habit of tilting his head to the side with a teasing smile on his face was cute.

I groaned. "You get on my nerves." I sat on my seat huffing.

"Awwww, I totally ship you two. You guys would make a cute coupleeeeee." Ria squealed and I shook my head and sighed.

First period was supposed to be a self study session but as you can see, it's a total disaster. No one actually ever studies. My classmates picked themselves in two's, three's and four's to chat, gossip, talk about celebrities and movies,read porn magazines or watch Tiktoks, some people even sleep. Some people is me.

Ria kept on ranting nonstop about how gorgeous Zelan was and how she'd totally date him if he asked. She even proceeded to tell me about her dream family after she marries Zelan. I sure do have one kind of a delusional best friend.

The bell rang, signalling the end of class and and the beginning of lunch break.

"Complete the rest of the workings and submit in the next class. Enjoy your lunch." Miss Tiffany, our maths teacher said as she exited the class.

Students trooped after her, rushing to either the cafeteria or the snack bar.

I carefully packed my books in my bag and zipped it close.

"Ahhhhh, Lunch, my favorite part of the day." Ria said as she stuffed her textbooks into her bag and zipped it.

"I thought your favorite part of the day was at night when you get to have your precious sleep." I said chuckling.

"Well, my favorite part of the day *while at school* is Lunch, when I get to eat." She grinned as she stood up from her seat. "Let's goooo."

I shook my head and laughed as I stood up and walked with Ria towards the door.

"Jasmine, we have a meeting. Remember?." Raven's voice called out as I almost stepped out of the class.

Right.

"Uhm Ria, can you go without me? I have to-"

"Oh yes you can. In fact, stay as long as you want. " Ria cut me off and gave me a naughty wink.

"You idiot. Don't misund-"

"Yeah yeah, bye." She cut me off again, pushing me towards Raven.

"Can you stop cutting me off." I frowned.

"I'm helping your love life, silly." She whispered or should I say, she thought she whispered because I'm pretty sure Zelan who was standing at the back door heard her.

"What are you..." I stopped talking and sighed.

Ria flew over to where Zelan was. That shameless girl.

"Well Zelan. Since Raven isn't available, why don't you have lunch with me?" She said as she clinged to him shamelessly. I shook my head.

"Uhm, I'm fine with that, I guess." Zelan replied shyly.

"Bye bestieeee, have fuuunnn...." Her loud voice faded out as she dragged poor Zelan out of the class.m, leaving just me and Raven in the class.

I looked around and the class was empty.

"Since the class is pretty much empty, why don't we talk here then?" I suggested.

"Uhm sure." He said walking back to his seat.

"I'm very hungry so I'll be as brief as possible so I can eat before the break is over." He said and I nodded.

The teasing smile on his face was gone and now he looked so serious.

He took a deep breath. "So, it all started when...."
