The compound looked calm as ever, Carmella watched her steps while she walked in with her mind bubbling like a foaming water, she has been thinking all evening of what to say to her mother or how to explain to her that she lied for a good reason.
She shook her head, what was she even thinking? it has always been said that their is never a good reason for a werewolf to lie but to rather speak the truth at all times, well she knew that this very truth might lead to her death and she wasn’t ready to spill it not for anything in the world but she was sure that her mother would never allow it slip by, she would want to hear every detail of it, no wonder she sounded mean to her that evening.
Carmella noticed smokes coming from the window close to the kitchen, she could tell that her mother was still making dinner, how rude of her to have walked out on her earlier, this have become her new found habit, walking out on her mother at any little provocation.

Zara stared confused at her daughter's words, she hadn’t seen her all evening and is surprised that she is trying to start an argument with her just this minute she got in, living under the same roof with Carmella was even getting more difficult and she wished desperately that she would get married as soon as possible, not exactly to Joshua but to someone who loves her dearly, someone like Terry.“What are you talking about Carmella?” She asked.“Mother please, it becomes even more annoying when you act like you don’t know what I am talking about, it’s true that I lied about where I went last night and my inability to come home but must you get the queen involved in this? I am ready to apologize and explain myself to you but now you ruined everything” she said sadly.Zara stared at her daughter, she couldn’t believe that she was openly confessing to what she had suspected earlier in the day.“Carmella
Carmella nodded, she was glad that Maria didn’t pick any offense with her attitude which meant she would say nothing of it to the queen.Maria accepted the apology whole heartedly, not like she had a choice anyways and in few seconds both Maria and Carmella were on their way to the palace. The journey to the palace was a quiet one as Carmella was lost in her own thoughts thinking exclusively about her mother’s last words, how on earth was she to face her? What other lie would she tell again? She moved slowly behind Maria who was right ahead, it wasn’t so easy keeping up with her steps as she was a fast walker with those hands of hers placed behind her, it’s more like it has become part of her personality and she was so comfortable walking that way. They arrived the palace soon, it looked really very busy unlike her own house which was almost as quiet as a grace yard.Their was lanterns everywhere, enough light to beautify th
Joshua turned to Terry wearing a sad look on his face, he could clearly see that Terry had a something eating him up deeply and somehow he felt it had to do with Carmella.“Don’t tell me you wanted to commit suicide because of her” Joshua began breaking the long silence as he wasn’t comfortable with it anymore. He really wanted to know exactly what happened to Terry and how he almost got drowned today, he knew very well that Terry could swim so he was definitely sure that their was more to the whole story.Terry gasped "you mean Carmella?"Joshua nodded.Terry shook his head at once “I would never want to commit suicide because of anyone” he answered sounding as blunt as possible.Joshua sighed “then what happened to you today? How did you end up almost getting yourself killed?”Terry was quiet, of course he have been trying to figure out what happened to him in the river, perhaps he mig
Carmella stood behind Maria while she knocked on the queen’s door. She could feel her heart beating behind her fear, her hands trembled behind her veil and she placed her hands under them, she couldn’t get her eyes off Maria who stood right in front of her backing her while knocking on the door. The gentle mode with which Maria knocked on the door made Carmella very uncomfortable, she wondered if she was scared of hurting the door.“Maybe the queen has fallen asleep” Carmella finally said as her voice was mixed with both fear and anger.Maria turned to her and shook her head in disagreement wearing a warm smile “the queen isn’t asleep yet, I would know if she has, maybe she’s busy.”Carmella nodded looking away, while they still waited for the queen to open the door which seemed like waiting forever, she thought about her encounter with Joshua and Terry, she wondered what they were talking about, she
Carmella nodded at once, her ears have really been itching to hear it all and she was already running out of patience especially for the fact that she had a million skeletons lurking behind her cupboard.“Whatever it is my queen please let me know, if it’s something you want me to do, I would surely do it” she said looking up at Emma’s fine face.Emma smiled “this is exactly one of the reasons I like you, you’re ever ready to do whatever it takes to make your superiors happy and comfortable but fortunately enough, I am so sure that what I am about to ask of you is something you can do that would not only benefit you but yourself, your family and the entire royal family.”Carmella’s eyes widened, she stared at the queen in confusion wondering what she was talking about.“What… what do you want me to do my lady” she asked almost stuttering.Emma smiled “I want you to marry my so
Emma summoned the servants who escorted Carmella out of her room, they closed the door behind while she paced the room slowly wearing a proud smirk at the end of her lips. Her long purple dress swept the marble floor giving much weight to her legs while she dragged the dress behind, she held up the edge still wearing an enviable smile on her lips, she ran her hand through her cheek taking a deep loud sigh, it was more like a sigh of victory as she could feel her nerves falling into relaxation. She slightly cleared her throat, her gaze fixed on the mirror standing softly in her room “Well… well it is totally obvious that Carmella isn’t interested in Terry after all, I really do not have anything to worry about, what I should actually be worried about is my son Joshua, convincing him to see reasons with me and take Carmella as a bride is what I must do, but how do I achieve that?” She thought aloud moving away from the mirror which she stood in f
Joshua grunted in anger looking totally unpleased with both himself and the thought of his mother summoning Carmella to discuss marriage plans without confronting him first, he wondered in anger if it had gotten to that extent that his mother have decided to force Carmella on him.He kicked hard on the chair he was previously sitting on looking totally unhappy with what he just discovered about Carmella “I just don’t understand why Carmella doesn’t get it, like… I don’t want her, I don’t want to marry her.”He took a deep sigh staring heavily at the chair that had fallen to the ground, he turned away from it in anger and walked straight into the house, he found himself standing in front of his mother’s door in no time, he lifted his hand to bang at the door but then he retreated, their was no point approaching her in that fierce mode though he was boiling with rage and wanted to let her know exactly how he was feel
Emma scoffed in discomfort, she felt challenged and that feeling wasn’t something she enjoy especially when it comes from someone whom she believes is supposed to be under her. Despite the fact that Joshua being the only son of his late father have taken other leadership from his father, Emma still believes that he owes her hundred percent homage not just as his mother but as the queen of the clan and therefore nothing should and can be done without her consent. She was getting totally aggravated with each second that swam by, Joshua didn’t look willing to back out of his quest to get answers from her, he looked even eager and willing to stand there for longer hours just to get his mother to talk to him, to say exactly what he wants to hear. Emma walked closer to him staring deep at his face, he could clearly see the lines on his face, incredibly defining his handsome, for a moment she admired her son’s look and then acknowledged the fact that he was already
