It didn’t take long for my eyes to find where she was sitting with Eliza. I stood near the entrance at the hostess desk for bit taking her in. "She's really back" I whispered to myself. Her face is plain of makeup, or maybe she has but very light. She still looks delicate. Her figure is complimentary to her height. She’s smiling at something Eliza said. “Sir, how many in your party” I heard the hostess ask. “They are already here” I replied. The hostess nodded and didn’t continue to engage in a conversation. Is it bad if I want to get to know a friend’s ex-girlfriend? It’s been many years since she left, so it shouldn’t be a problem. Right? Everyone should have moved on. Right? Do I even care what anyone would think? My eyes slowly started to refocus, and I see Eliza waving at me. I put my hand up to wave back. She continued to look my way with a smile. My feet start moving towards their table. As I got closer, Eliza says “hey, I’m glad you made it.” I bend my head down and give her a kiss on her cheek. I don’t want to have her get up because of her pregnant belly. I notice that Lara is watching me with a closed expression but still looked quite pleasant. She isn’t as open as when I was watching her and Eliza talk together. I wonder why. Did she close up because of me? I turned to Lara and said “Hi” then continued to give her a kiss on the cheek also. She was a little startled, however, she didn’t object. “Hi” she reciprocated. “It’s been a long time. How have you been” I asked her. “I’ve been ok. Life is a little slow now. I needed a change” she replied. “Do you need us to get the waitress or are you going to eat from what we had already ordered” she asked me. I was kind of surprised for a bit because I was not expecting her to share food. It’s not like we were ever close. Then she handed me a small plate. Both of my eyebrows rose on my head. Sharing food with Lara. Ok, I am ok with this, I thought encouragingly to myself. Do I really want to share food? It doesn’t disgust me. “Um, sure if you are willing to share” I asked hesitantly. “Nate has always said my eyes were always bigger than my stomach” she said. Well, since she’s so comfortable talking about him, maybe it’s not so bad that I get to know her? Like water under the bridge? Great, I have questions but no answers. “I have to agree with him, I always order too much, and never finish. So, I don’t think it would be bad for me to share” she continued. “Thank you” I replied. “Yes, take from mine too, this is too much” Eliza added. “So, what were you two talking about as I walked up” I asked. “Oh, well, Lara was telling me that she’s going to work at the hospital. Want to guess what she does” Eliza said cutting a mischievous glance towards me. All I had was a blank face like a dumb idiot. I shake my head slowly. “She’s a vampire” Eliza added with a laugh. I chuckled then said, “ahh.” “And she is working the graveyard shift” Eliza continued. I looked at Lara and asked, “when do you start?” She didn’t answer right away because she took a bite of a mozzarella stick as soon as I asked the question. She looked at me around the food in her mouth then said, “in two nights.” I nodded my head, and said, “that’s great you got a job as soon as you moved back. Is that what you did in Hawaii?” She looked at me then nodded her head. I thought, what is it about her that I want to get to know her more. I mean, she’s average looking, with a shapely body. Let me expand on that thought because that just sounded a bit shallow. She has an hourglass figure. She’s not super skinny, but slim. The clothes she wears complements her figure. It’s not tight but fitted. Her hair, well, she has a lot of it. I remember when she would go to Nate’s place in between shows her hair was full like a soft cloud that glided behind her. Tonight, it was soft and wavy. “I take it you like doing that,” I asked. She just shrugged her shoulders, then pushed the sampler to me. I looked at it and took a couple of potato skins and fries. I dipped a fry in the ranch dip and popped it in my mouth. “If you don’t like doing that, why are you doing it” Eliza asked. I wanted to ask that question too but took the hint and didn’t push. So, in my head I thanked Eliza for asking it. Lara exhaled long then said, “I didn’t say I didn’t like it. Doing that is just something I am good at. I like that talent. It makes me feel that I am helping someone heal. On the other hand, sometimes I see the worst in people because their family member is in pain and said family member is desperate, angry, and helpless, so they think it’s ok to lash out at the staff.” The table was quiet for a bit then she continued with, “the threshold of a person’s pain tolerance varies from patient to patient. For example, most woman aren’t afraid of getting blood drawn, whereas most men are terrified. I’ve been cussed at and had to reassure more men than women that it will be ok. From my experience, men would make more of a scene and say belittling things to the phlebotomist because they are in terrible pain or start to be filled with anxiety. So, to answer your question again, I like having this talent, but do I like the job, it changes from patient to patient.” I nodded my head and thought about what she just said. Eliza then adds, “I agree. I’m fine with blood draws. I may be a little nervous but it's not so bad. But when Patrick needs to draw blood, he is shaking and sweating so much. It’s annoying.” I smiled at her comment. Then she continues, “I mean, he’s a guy. According to society, aren’t guys supposed to be stronger and braver.” I took a mozzarella stick and shoved it in my mouth. Then popped a fry in my mouth too, however, it became a bit quiet. I looked up. Lara and Eliza were staring at me. “What,” I said. “I asked, according to society aren’t guys supposed to be stronger and braver,” Eliza replied a little exasperated. “Honestly, I don’t have a problem with getting my blood drawn. But Crown hate’s it”, I responded emphasizing the word hate. I noticed that the corners of her mouth turned up a little. Why did that action make me feel satisfied. Before I could stop myself, I asked, “so why come back here? Couldn’t you have gone anywhere to do that?” “Oh yeah, good question. Don’t get me wrong, I love you being here, but you could have gone anywhere” Eliza added. “I don’t know, I remember being happy here. But I don’t know if it’s only because of Nate, or because I really loved living here” Lara said. I wondered if she came back for Nate or other reasons. It’s good that Eliza invited me, I can see if she may be attracted to me or not. “Do you want to get back together with Nate” Eliza asked lightheartedly. Yes! I thought. I really want to know this answer. But before she could answer, her eyes cut to me. Then she shrugged. What the hell was that. “’Kay wait, you are here for Nate” Eliza asked more pointedly. I was a bit confused at Lara’s response too. Or lack of response. She cut her eyes back to me. “Why do you keep looking at me” I asked. “I would rather not say because I know you are friends with Nate. And I remember how much you guys would talk to each other” she responded. Well, hell, I did not expect her to say that. I wonder if there is more to what she was saying. I don’t remember insulting her, but some of the others did make fun of Nate because of her. I wonder if Nate told her. That could be the reason she never really came around much. However, I never really went around much either, only on game days. “I understand where you’re coming from, but whatever you have to say is ok. It’s not going to bother me” I said to reassure her. She looked at me for a few seconds then said, “I am not here because of Nate,” she answered. “Then why did you hesitate at the question” I probed. She sighed. I furrowed my eyebrows at her. What is going on? “I don’t want him to know that I am here,” she finally said. My eyebrows shot up. “What do you mean” Eliza asked. “It was a painful breakup for me. I don’t know if I still have feelings for him, however, I rather not put myself in that position” she stated. “Hey, I get that, he won’t hear it from me” I said. “Me too, plus he is married” Eliza said. “That’s not necessarily a problem” I heard her say softly right before she popped a fry in her mouth. And I kept watching said mouth as she chewed her food. Eliza and I looked at each other. “Anyways, I couldn’t compete with Nate’s friends. I always came in second place. On top of all the girls that where your friends before I came into the picture” I said as her voice trailed off. “What do you mean” I asked her. “I was the new person to your group, so I was a little insecure. I don’t know how I put up with that, but I did” she said. “But you danced at that Hawaiian place, how could you be insecure” I asked. “Doing dances of my culture on stage is different. I feel and look beautiful. The people see me as beautiful because of the fantasy the restaurant creates. Each customer already imagines what they want to see. So, when the customer comes into the restaurant, he or she has a filter over their eyes. They see and hear what they want. When I step out of that, I’m just plain little me” she answered. I would have never thought that about her. “If it makes you feel better, I thought you were cute off stage” I said. Idiot! That wasn’t supposed to come out of my mouth. Lara and Eliza froze in place, with food halfway to their open mouths. “Um, thank you. Believe it or not, I also created an image that I wanted the customers to see. Outside of that environment reality sets in” she said however her voice and face looked a bit shocked. I just kept talking hoping she would not notice. “What do you mean” I asked for clarification. “When I get ready, such as, putting my makeup on, stretching, getting warmed up and so forth, I mentally prepare myself and I become a different person. When I am in that state, I feel free and happy” she said with a smile on her face. I wonder if she missed it. “I’m going to the bathroom, I’ll be back” Lara stated as she got up and left. As soon as I could no longer hear her footsteps, I banged my head on the table. The plates and cups clanked. I took a deep breath and looked at Eliza. Her face still frozen with shock. “When did you start thinking that” she asked. “Think what” I answered, not really committing to my previous comment because I was somewhat embarrassed. Mockingly, Eliza lowered her voice and octave and said, “I thought you were cute.” Then her eyes narrowed while looking at me. I chuckled hoping she would let it go, but I know her to well, so here it comes in 3, 2, and… “Do you like her. I mean, did you like her” she asked. The great thing about Eliza is that her questions are direct and there is no way to interpret it any other way. Unlike some people I’ve met, they talk in general. However, now that I’m older, being direct is better. Cut through the crap and get straight to the meat of what I want or need to know. “No. Yes. I don’t know” I replied. “I was even a little attracted to her back then. When I spoke to you earlier today, I was surprised that you were going to meet up with her. Since you invited me, how could I resist. Plus, I wanted to see if she may be, a little, kind of interested” I added, looking a little sheepishly. “Is this a serious inquiry or are you looking for a plaything” Eliza asked me skeptically. I was kind of offended because she knows I don’t sleep around. However, I understood where she was coming from. “It was just a thought. Lara and I never really talked much before. But with what little I did talk with her maybe. So, if she is not seeing anyone…” I said. “Really” she looked at me then continued, “you never were around much back then. How could you have” she trailed off. I just looked at her, without saying anything. “So that” she pointed to where Lara disappeared to, “is the reason you didn’t come around much back then. And you even left when she came. Oh, my goodness, why didn’t you say anything? It’s been years” she said with a smile on her face. It’s getting hot in here again. “Are you blushing” she asked. “Mind your business” I said with a scowl on my face. “I don’t blush” I added. Eliza, not caring, laughed out loud. “What’s so funny” I heard from behind me. I turned to see Lara just approaching my chair, then passed me to sit in the chair she was previously sitting on. The smile on her face was a bit contagious. Just when I was about to say something, Eliza’s phone rang. She excused herself while she answered the phone. Lara’s lips were moving. My eyes were focused on them. Then, I looked at her eyes. She’s not smiling anymore. Her lips moved again; however, I wasn’t really paying attention. She’s really pretty. Beautiful even. Ouch. She kicked me under the table. What the hell! “What was that for” I asked. “I was talking to you, but you weren’t listening. So, I kicked you” she responded. Ah, I was little irritated from the kick. Geez! She was talking to me. So, what did she say. “I’m sorry, I wasn’t paying attention. Can you repeat it again” I asked. Wow, she let out a really long breath and she looks pissed. Dang, did she just roll her eyes at me. “I asked you if you keep looking at me like that, I am going to kick you. Since you didn’t avert your eyes and didn’t hear me, I figured why not. So, I kicked you” she said with a smile being all mischievous. I smiled at her. She’s kind of, well I can’t put an exact word to it. But I like it. However, her eyes were in slits now, and she looks even a little more pissed. “Actually, I asked you what it is do you do. For a living” she asked. “Oh, sorry. I’m still wrenching” I answered. “I didn’t know you were a mechanic. Did you always do that” she asked. “Yes, and I still do it” I replied. “Do you enjoy it” she asked. I thought about that a lot. Did I really enjoy doing that? “To be honest, I really don’t know. I like doing it. And I am good at it. I never thought of doing anything else” I said. “Do you see yourself doing that for the rest of your life” she asked. “Well, since I have my own company, it’s not so bad” I said. “That’s great to hear. It’s not easy running your own business. There’s a lot of paperwork that needs to be done. It’s probably more than doing the actual job” she supplied. “That’s a true story” I said while I nodded my head. Then I continued eating. “So, what are you two talking about” Eliza said as she sat back down. “Nothing really, just catching up” I said. “Okay, that’s good, because my hubby called. The baby is fussing, and hubby needs help” Eliza said with a little chuckle. “Um, okay, you can go, I’ll pick up the tab” Lara said. “Oh okay, thank you. We’ll do this again. My treat” Eliza stood up and gave Lara a hug. She then waved to me and walked out. When Eliza left through for restaurant doors, I turned back to face Lara. It was then I was at a complete loss.
As I watched Eliza walking out I kind of felt uncomfortable. Bring on the social awkwardness. No matter how old I am, I will always be this. “Do you want desert” Orion asked. “Um, no thank you” I responded. I looked at the table and most of the food was gone. I really wanted to have desert, but I do not know what or how act with Orion sitting right in front of me. My whole body is tight. I had to tell myself, just treat him as if he was Eliza. Or any other friend that I have. Ok, I don’t have many friends. Honestly, I’d rather be here by myself than to sit across Orion. “Ok, well do you mind sitting with me while I have desert” he stated. My right eyebrow lifted. He noticed it and smiled. “We can catch up more. There wasn’t much of an opportunity to get to know each other back then, but now, why not” he said. I had to take a beat and think about it. Ok, I am 38 years old. My experiences have never given me life long close friends. Not that I’m complaining about it. I’m j
I’m starting to get to know my way around the hospital. Being in a new environment is exciting, but patients are still the same. It’s a good thing that I like what I do. Even though I only draw blood from these patients, it makes me feel that I am helping in some way. A very small way. Every early morning rounds begin, and the phlebotomist splits into two teams. Rounds is when the phlebotomist draw blood from the inpatients at a designative time, since there tends to be a lot of orders the phlebotomist all leave the lab at the same time. All orders are from the attending physicians for each patient. Each team has a leader that everyone in that team reports to. The team leader then keeps everyone focused to make sure all team members are not falling behind with their assigned blood draws. We are then assigned to go to different areas of the hospital to expedite the patients that need to have their blood drawn. My team leader is Nelly. After she gave me my draws, I left her. R
“Bossman, why you here, man” Marcus asked as he spotted me walking into the shop. “Why not? If I don’t come, you guys might get into trouble and burn this place down” I said in a teasing way. “Ha Ha, not even, you really helped all of us out, so we owe you. There is no way we would intentionally let you down” Marcus said leaning against the car he was working on. “I know. How’s it going here” I asked. “Oh, you know, can’t complain. Business is good. Customers keep coming in and we keep doing what we gotta do” Marcus said. These guys know their stuff when it comes to fixing cars. “That’s good. Well, I’ll be in the office” I said and went upstairs. I opened my own service station a few years ago. In addition to gas, I also have mechanics in house to fix cars. The guys I hire are those who are down on their luck and need a helping hand. I didn’t intentionally make my business this way it just became like this. They are a good bunch of guys, rough guys, but still good guys.
Lara Upon waking I took a shower and got ready for work, I decided to text Orion. TEXT: Lara: Good Evening! After sending the text I was wondering what I wanted to eat. The thing is, I never know what I want to eat. Basically, it’s never fun or fulfilling to cook for myself. It feels lonely. So, I just settled on drinking some orange juice, that should be good enough for now. While I was drinking my phone binged with a text message. I looked at it. It read Orion. I swiped the message open. TEXT: Orion: Good Evening. How did you sleep. I replied TEXT: Lara: It was pretty restful. How was your day? He replied TEXT:Orion: No problems at work, just a lot of paper work. TEXT Lara: Sounds boring. Hehe. What are you doing now. TEXT:Orion: haha, it is boring, but worth it. I’m hanging out with a friend. TEXT:Lara: Nice. So, I was wondering, will it be ok if I brought someone to you party?Ok, so after I asked that question, I wanted to take it back. It’s not like I wa
Lara “Girl what’s your address. I’ll come over and get ready at your place” Shantel said over my speaker phone. “Geez, it’s just a backyard party, there’s no need to go over the top” I said. “Hey, I never go out, so I’d like to look my best” Shantel replied. “Seriously” I asked exasperated. “Yes, it’s been a while and I’m single so I’d like to look at least decent. Come on, I live in scrubs, so why not dress up” she replied in a whinny way. I chuckled and said, “alright, alright. I’ll drop a location pin for you. Come over. We’ll get ready together.” “Great” she replied, then we hung. 30 minutes later, I was still just lounging around listening to an audiobook and playing on my phone. Basically, doing a whole bunch of nothing. That’s when I heard a knock on my door. I got up, walked over to the door and opened it. As the door was being open I her Shantel’s voice saying, “I’m here” in a singy songy way. I smiled and said, “come on in,” then I stepped back. As I was
Lara I didn’t expect to see Dr. Chase Cameron here tonight. I was already running late to get here because of some unexpected guess. It’s 10:15pm, I literally just walking into through the door when I saw Dr Cameron. He saw me and came straight up to me to talk. I didn’t want to be rude since he and I do work at the same hospital, so I chose to be polite. Speaking with him was fun and easy. At the moment he didn’t seem to show the arrogance that comes along with being a Medical Doctor. Well, that’s just my opinion of course because obviously, not all doctors are arrogant. My eyes glanced at the wall clock, and it seemed that I was talking to him for a good 30 minutes cause now it’s 10:45pm. I didn’t want to be rude to Dr. Cameron, but I also felt like I was being rude to Orion because I haven’t said hello yet. I started feeling a little uneasy, when I glanced slightly over Dr. Cameron’s shoulder, I saw Orion looking straight at me. He was out in the yard, and I was in t
Orion Lara slammed into my chest. The plate with the cornbread she was holding smashed between us and crumbled to the ground. “Lara are you ok” I asked her. Looking her over from the top of her head to the tip of her feet. She looked a little startled. I looked behind her. “Johanna, why did you do that” I spoke in a cold tone, my eyes piercing through her with anger. “What are you doing? Do you remember you asked me to be here” Johanna said sweetly, but she was fuming on the inside. Crown, not missing a beat started laughing. “I do believe you invited yourself,” Crown said as he walked over to my side. “Lara are you ok” he directed his question to Lara. “I’m fine. My cornbread died though,” she said pitifully. She looked totally dejected. I chuckled on the inside. What is it with that cornbread, I thought. I turned my attention back to Johanna. “You need to leave. Now,” I told her. “I’m not leaving. She should leave,” Johanna said as she pointed her finger towards La
Lara Dropping Shantel off and getting back to Orion’s place didn’t take long. When we walked through the front door, Crown had already cleaned up most of everything. I looked around inside and outside to see if I could help, but it seems like I wasn't needed. “Wow, Crown, good job. It seems like I didn’t need to come back to help clean,” I said while turning in a circle on the balls of my feet, stopping as I faced him. “There wasn’t much too clean. But since you’re back, we can just chill and catch up” he said. “It’s late don’t you need work in a few hours,” I asked. It’s around 2 in the morning, so shouldn’t that mean both of them should be sleeping now. “I took off just in case I got a hangover,” he said with a chuckle. “Come on, sit,” Orion said then sat on the couch. I looked at Orion, walked over and sat next to him, while Crown sat on the loveseat. “So, do you guys do this often,” I asked them. “Do what,” Orion replied. “Have people over like this,” I replied. Orion and Crown lo
“It looks like we both don’t have an appetite,” I said. “Hmm,” Crown responded back to me. “Stop stalling,” I said perturbed. Crown breathed in and out deeply. “Marcus was in prison for killing his sister,” he said in a low voice. “I gathered that much on my own,” I replied dryly. “He was pretty young. 15 years old. His sentence was harsh. First degree murder,” Crown started to say but I cut him off. “No, second degree murder,” I said. “His report says first degree murder,” he replied. “Then how does a 15-year-old go to prison thinking he was charged with second degree murder,” I asked. Crown only stared at me. Blink. Blink, blink his eyes went. “Dude, what’s up,” I asked. “You’re telling me Marcus thinks he went to prison for second degree murder for killing his sister,” he asked me. “That’s what he said,” I told him. “What brought up you asking about Marcus,” he asked. “Marcus asked what I would do if I saw someone I thought was dead. From what Marcus had mentioned
Crown When I left Orion and Lara, I drove straight to my house. Before I could twist the knob, the door flew open. “Dude, did you get laid last night,” was the question that came flying my way from a voice that needed to mind his own business. However, said voice, didn’t stop there but followed up with, “yeah, yeah, you did. Why else would you be out all night.” I shook my head side to side. “Report,” I said tersely and continued to walk into the house. “You no fun,” David mumbled, or in other words, annoying little brat. “Report” I repeated with a sign. “Fine. Lara still doesn’t know. Mr. Green is still investigating. The reason why he is looking into you and Orion is unknown,” David said. “He’s looking into Orion too,” I asked. “Yeah, but Orion overall has had a normal life so,” he said as he trailed off and shrugged his shoulders. “You, on the other hand, he is looking into more. Actually, he is really, really digging now. However, he won’t find anything we do
Lara “I’m so glad this night is over,” Dani said from behind me. Dani, Maria, Shan, Nelly, and I were in the elevator itching to leave this place. Our shift is over, and we want to get out of here. Tonight, was weird like there was a full moon. I mean, it’s like all the crazies came out tonight. All of us agreed with whatever noise we could muster. Bing! The elevator door opened, and we all walked briskly to the exit. The ladies knew I was getting picked up, so they walked me out of the main entrance first. Nosy ladies, I thought. “Oh my goodness,” I heard Nelly say. “Damn” Maria said. “It’s so not fair,” Dani said. The thing is they said it all at the same time and I was confused, while Shan was laughing. I looked at her with my right eyebrow lifted. Shan moved her head in a certain direction. My eyes followed her movement and then I saw them. The two of them were leaning against the car, legs crossed at the ankles, arms folded across their chests. A sigh slipped
Mr. Green When I arrived at the restaurant, I walked directly to the private room where Taryn was waiting. The hostess saw me approaching and went to open the door for me. “Would you like to order anything,” she said as I entered the room. “No,” I replied. There are 3 main hostess that work the private rooms. They are like furniture. These hostesses do not move to any other part of the restaurant. They oversee everything that goes on in the private rooms, but if there is any trouble security will come and intervene, however, they are very discrete. “Very well, shall I come back later,” she asked. I looked at her up and down appreciating her beauty, which is a requirement for hostess. Man or woman, only beauty is allowed to work the private rooms. “No need. I’ll call if I need anything,” I replied and offered a smile. “Very well,” she said with a smile that was very seductive, then she turned and walked out making her hips sway side to side with every step until the doo
Mr. Green “Sir, the information I found seems normal. Nothing threatening or weird,” Taryn reported. I have a private office here in the hospital. It has never been used until now. “Hmm. What do you think of this report,” I asked Taryn. “They know how to keep clean. No incidents at all,” he answered. “Hmm,” was all I could respond with. After a few moments I said, “that’s all for now.” “Yes, sir,” Taryn said as he turned and walked out of the office. As I sat here, my mind drifted back to the beginning. Life was simple, but I was full of ambition. I wanted to leave a legacy for my family to want for nothing. Now that I’m here, grass is not always greener. The more wealth you have, the deeper you slip into the cesspit of snakes trying to take everything away from you. You are constantly on eggshells, calculating every move, every word, and every appearance. The more I gained, the more suspicious I became of everyone. My trusted circle got smaller and smaller. Taryn
Orion The ring of a phone sounded in the silent room. “Hey,” I heard Crown say. Crown was chilling on the couch. I was lounging on the single sofa seat. “When,” Crown spoke into the phone. He sounded a bit alarmed. “Show me,” he said, then he put his Bluetooth earpiece over his ear and looked at his phone. “Where is she now,” he said while looking at his screen. Crown looked up at me and waved me over. A bit of concern came over me, so I went over to sit next to him. My eyes went to his cell phone screen, and I saw Lara. My eyebrows lifted on my forehead, and I glanced at Crown. Then, the feed changed to another area within the hospital. There seems to be an altercation. A man had a pole or rod and was swinging it around like a bat. It looks like the man that was swinging that thing around made contact with a few people because the other people were holding different places of their body as if in pain. Then, I saw in the corner of the screen something moving. “What
Lara “You guys are spoiling me. I'll see you in the morning, “I said to Orion and Crown as I was getting out of the car by the emergency room. “We’ll be here waiting,” Orion said. Crown who was sitting in back also got out. He smiled at me, and I gave him a hug. I don’t know why I did that, but I did. Then he got into the passenger seat, and I closed the car door. My hand lifted to give a little wave to both of them, then I turned to walk into the hospital. They both have been treating me like we've known each other for a long time. Well, I guess we have, but we haven't spent time together. “Are you a threesome now,” I heard from behind me but I didn't turn around. The giggles that followed the voice was very mischievous, so I started to giggle too. A woman’s arm linked with mine as I was walking. “Well, that would be a nice idea. Wouldn't it,” I replied. Then, I stopped walking, turned my head to look at Shan. “I can't believe I just said that,” I mused with a shocked
Lara Waking up was a chore. I really didn’t want to wake up but did it anyways. Life seemed pleasant at the moment. So, not wanting to get up isn’t due to laziness or no motivation. It’s because of Orion and Crown. I’m happy that they stayed until I fell asleep. Orion would have checked the house before he left, so I’m not concerned. A feeling of being safe came over me. I’ve been single for such a long time; I notice the little things. It’s been a while since I felt good upon waking up. Actually, I can’t remember the last time I felt good when waking up. I got out of bed, and then my ears perked up. There were voices in my house. It startled me because no one should be in my house. As I slowly calmed myself down, cause let’s face it, I literally went from ok to WTH in .5 seconds. The voices were registering in my mind. They were familiar. Orion and Crown. I smiled and walked out of the room to go see them. The voices got louder as I walked into the kitchen and there
Crown As I was driving to my place, my thoughts were thinking about all the weird stuff that has been happening. Who’s the target? It could be Orion. He lives here and all the coincidences surround him. But then, they could be using him to get to me. Then, there’s Lara. She is a bit mysterious. I didn’t do any background check on her because... That thought can be left hanging cause I really don’t want to think about that. I know she has sons in the service, I continued thinking. Maybe they are the target and Lara is the bait. I hope that isn’t the case. Then, the doctor who is interested in Lara. Is he really interested in her, or just playing a game? I’ll look more into him, eventually. Hana.
