Chapter 6

He was waving his hand while wearing that huge smile on his lips. Right from where I am right now, I can totally see how perfect Sean Cohen is. He even removed his sunglasses, which made me see the delight from those alluring eyes. Did I mention how good his looks are? From those thick black brows and to his almond eyes that were perfectly paired with his thick eyelashes. His nose was not pointed, but it was perfectly shaped. His thick heart shaped lips were naturally red that could probably seduce every woman.

He is not just handsome, he's also rich. My brows crossed for a while. Why is he not wearing a suit that he usually wears at work? Right now, he was only wearing a black denim jacket with the white shirt inside and was tucked in with his black denim pants.

Damn, he looked freakin’ hot. A hot bad boy, indeed.

“See? You should have told me that you hav—”

“Oh, fvck.”

I ran as fast as I could as soon as I finally processed that Sean Cohen is here. Why is he even here?! For god's sake, I can't really read what is running through this man's mind.

“Mr. Coh—”

“Sean,” that shining smile of his faded immediately when I welcomed him with formality.

I shut my eyes firmly. “Sean, why are you here? Is there a problem at work?” I asked and glanced at my landlady upstairs who was still there, watching us from afar.

Didn't I tell you? That old lady loves to gossip. My neighbors will probably know that I have a rich boyfriend named Sean Cohen. For god's sake, he's my boss. I should have explained it to her, only if I was not that startled with his presence that my heart skipped a bit.

“I'm here to pick you up,” he said, back with that smile again.

“Me?” I even pointed a finger to myself.

He nodded. “But I can just ride a cab,” I uttered with so myriad of questions satiating my head.

Seriously? I don't understand why he would pick me up when he already drove me home last night. Is he just benevolent that he does so much for me? Was he like this to his former secretary as well? Because definitely, it is impossible that I am the only one who gets this treatment from him.

“Your boss came all the way here to pick you up and you are turning me down indirectly?” He shook his head with disappointment.

“No, it's not what I mean…” I said, finding words to continue what I just said.

“I mean…” I heaved a heavy sigh. “Let's just go,” I added and eyed the landlady again.

I shook my head in frustration and quickly pulled Sean closer to me to turn our backs to the old lady who was watching us keenly.

“Don't look back, my landlady is watching.” I whispered as we both went to the car.

“Is she?” He chuckled before he opened the door of the passenger’s seat for me.

“She is,” I replied when I went back to her and she was still there. I can't believe she's sticking her nose to my life.

“She's creeping me out,” Sean uttered before he began to drive.

“She's not. I guess I would be her new gossip for today,” I uttered hopelessly and shook my head.

“Why? Would she tell the people that I am your boyfriend?” He chuckled.

“She would tell everyone that I have a rich and handsome boyfriend,” my eyes widened immediately after I realized what I just said. My heart probably stopped from beating the moment I said that.

I refrained myself from moving as I regretted the reckless thing that I said. You're so dumb, Dahlia! You just told him that you find him handsome! Well, he really is.

“Oh, the weather is good,” I commented and tried changing the subject. I even faced the window beside me as my entire face was probably like a tomato right now. I won't look at him no matter what happens. Please, just let the earth eat me alive.

“So, you find me handsome, huh?”

My face crumpled while facing the window view beside me when he still came back to that. I just want to scream and curse myself.

“H-Huh?” See? I'm at a loss for words now!

“You're blushing, Dahlia.” That made me look at him, which I regretted as well.

Sean was having that from ear to ear smile that would rip his lips. He kept giving me an eye while driving.

“F-Focus on driving,” I said and tried not to stutter but I still did.

What the heck.

Now, it suddenly feels hot when I have to adjust the aircon. Why does my face feel hot? Shit.

“Hold on,” my brows crossed when I realized that it is not the way to the company.

“I think we're on the wrong way. This is not the way to the company,” I mentioned and glanced at him.

However, I found him wearing that playful smirk while his eyes were pinned on the road.

“I know,” he then replied.

“What? Where are we going?” I asked immediately. Where the hell is he taking me? He's not going to take advantage of me, right?!

Goodness, Dahlia, you're assuming.

“We’re going to have fun,” he replied. That ‘fun’ gives me goosebumps.

“What about work? You have tons of paper to review and sign, Mr. Coh—”

“Sean, Dahlia, Sean. How many times do I have to tell you that?” He almost glared at me, and felt annoyed for a moment.

“How can I do that? You're my boss, I feel like I'm crossing the line everytime I try to drop the formality.” I reasoned out. Well, that's the real reason why I couldn't call him by his name.

“I'm your boss so do what I say,” he said. “About work, I can manage everything. For today, let's just enjoy the day.” He added and wore that extensive smile again.

“Y-You could have enjoyed it by yourself,” I mumbled, enough for him to hear it.

“That would be boring,”

“Then, what about your friend?” I don't really remember his name, but his handsome face and looks were glued in my head.

“Ford?” He chuckled. “He's too busy with girls to hangout with me,” he added.

I smirked in secrecy. I knew it. I can easily tell in one glance that he is a bad boy and a womanizer. Oh, that jerk.

“I don't have a choice, you're my boss.” I blew out a deep breath. “You won't do anything to me, aren't you?” I quickly gave him my sharp eyes.

“Of course not,” he almost laughed at me.

What he said was true. My lips parted and my eyes turned thin when I saw the place where he said we would have fun.

“Seriously? You want to have fun in an amusement park?” I glanced at him unbelievably and he was looking at the rides around with his twinkling smile that speaks of his excitement.

Yes, we're in the amusement park. How can I think that he would do something bad to me when he said that we would have ‘fun’? For god's sake, we would have fun in an amusement park. Since when did I have a dirty mind?

“Hey, I want a headband! Let's buy it for us!” He exclaimed with excitement and quickly pulled me to the store where the people bought theirs.

I didn't know that beyond Sean’s perilous authority, power, and handsomeness is a kid who was hiding behind it.

“There are so many, which one should we buy?” He asked while being indecisive.

I heaved a sigh and raised my brows before I grabbed the unicorn headband.

“Try this,” I said and put it on his head.

I laughed all of a sudden. Well, he looks like a bad boy right now but he's wearing this kind of headband.

“Then, I should choose yours.” He said and came up with the crown headband.

“Well, you look like a princess.” He uttered and chuckled as he wore it on me.

“Are you a couple?” My eyes shifted to the lady who was selling the headbands. She was smiling from ear to ear while looking at us.

“No,” I quickly answered.

Disappointment ate her smile. “Really? But you look like a couple. You also look good together,” she chuckled.

“Keep the change, then.” Sean said with a smile before he pulled me away from there.

“So, what should we ride first?” He asked while he could not even stick his head to one place because of so many rides around. We can hear the people shouting while riding the most feared rides.

But then, Sean captured my eyes again. I never saw this side of him. He looks happy, unlike the day he hired me. That day, I was sure that Sean was filled with heaviness— something was weighing him that he couldn't draw a fake smile at all. But right now, that smile was surreal. It won't fade easily, including the shining bright from his eyes right now.

I wonder how rough the road he took all his life. He's rich, but he's not happy at all.

“Is this your first time?” I asked.

Maybe, I asked the wrong question. That smile faded a bit and I was able to catch his eyes.

“No,” he replied. “It's my first time after that tragedy though.”

That bright smile was replaced with a bitter one that speaks a long story of what this man had been through.

“This is Celeste's favorite place. I've been here with her before she left me,”

In one snap, it disappointed me. Of course, it's Celeste again.
