Chapter 6
He was waving his hand while wearing that huge smile on his lips. Right from where I am right now, I can totally see how perfect Sean Cohen is. He even removed his sunglasses, which made me see the delight from those alluring eyes. Did I mention how good his looks are? From those thick black brows and to his almond eyes that were perfectly paired with his thick eyelashes. His nose was not pointed, but it was perfectly shaped. His thick heart shaped lips were naturally red that could probably seduce every woman. He is not just handsome, he's also rich. My brows crossed for a while. Why is he not wearing a suit that he usually wears at work? Right now, he was only wearing a black denim jacket with the white shirt inside and was tucked in with his black denim pants. Damn, he looked freakin’ hot. A hot bad boy, indeed. “See? You should have told me that you hav—” “Oh, fvck.” I ran as fast as I could as soon as I finally processed that Sean Cohen is here. Why is he even here?! For god's sake, I can't really read what is running through this man's mind. “Mr. Coh—” “Sean,” that shining smile of his faded immediately when I welcomed him with formality. I shut my eyes firmly. “Sean, why are you here? Is there a problem at work?” I asked and glanced at my landlady upstairs who was still there, watching us from afar. Didn't I tell you? That old lady loves to gossip. My neighbors will probably know that I have a rich boyfriend named Sean Cohen. For god's sake, he's my boss. I should have explained it to her, only if I was not that startled with his presence that my heart skipped a bit. “I'm here to pick you up,” he said, back with that smile again. “Me?” I even pointed a finger to myself. He nodded. “But I can just ride a cab,” I uttered with so myriad of questions satiating my head. Seriously? I don't understand why he would pick me up when he already drove me home last night. Is he just benevolent that he does so much for me? Was he like this to his former secretary as well? Because definitely, it is impossible that I am the only one who gets this treatment from him. “Your boss came all the way here to pick you up and you are turning me down indirectly?” He shook his head with disappointment. “No, it's not what I mean…” I said, finding words to continue what I just said. “I mean…” I heaved a heavy sigh. “Let's just go,” I added and eyed the landlady again. I shook my head in frustration and quickly pulled Sean closer to me to turn our backs to the old lady who was watching us keenly. “Don't look back, my landlady is watching.” I whispered as we both went to the car. “Is she?” He chuckled before he opened the door of the passenger’s seat for me. “She is,” I replied when I went back to her and she was still there. I can't believe she's sticking her nose to my life. “She's creeping me out,” Sean uttered before he began to drive. “She's not. I guess I would be her new gossip for today,” I uttered hopelessly and shook my head. “Why? Would she tell the people that I am your boyfriend?” He chuckled. “She would tell everyone that I have a rich and handsome boyfriend,” my eyes widened immediately after I realized what I just said. My heart probably stopped from beating the moment I said that. I refrained myself from moving as I regretted the reckless thing that I said. You're so dumb, Dahlia! You just told him that you find him handsome! Well, he really is. “Oh, the weather is good,” I commented and tried changing the subject. I even faced the window beside me as my entire face was probably like a tomato right now. I won't look at him no matter what happens. Please, just let the earth eat me alive. “So, you find me handsome, huh?” My face crumpled while facing the window view beside me when he still came back to that. I just want to scream and curse myself. “H-Huh?” See? I'm at a loss for words now! “You're blushing, Dahlia.” That made me look at him, which I regretted as well. Sean was having that from ear to ear smile that would rip his lips. He kept giving me an eye while driving. “F-Focus on driving,” I said and tried not to stutter but I still did. What the heck. Now, it suddenly feels hot when I have to adjust the aircon. Why does my face feel hot? Shit. “Hold on,” my brows crossed when I realized that it is not the way to the company. “I think we're on the wrong way. This is not the way to the company,” I mentioned and glanced at him. However, I found him wearing that playful smirk while his eyes were pinned on the road. “I know,” he then replied. “What? Where are we going?” I asked immediately. Where the hell is he taking me? He's not going to take advantage of me, right?! Goodness, Dahlia, you're assuming. “We’re going to have fun,” he replied. That ‘fun’ gives me goosebumps. “What about work? You have tons of paper to review and sign, Mr. Coh—” “Sean, Dahlia, Sean. How many times do I have to tell you that?” He almost glared at me, and felt annoyed for a moment. “How can I do that? You're my boss, I feel like I'm crossing the line everytime I try to drop the formality.” I reasoned out. Well, that's the real reason why I couldn't call him by his name. “I'm your boss so do what I say,” he said. “About work, I can manage everything. For today, let's just enjoy the day.” He added and wore that extensive smile again. “Y-You could have enjoyed it by yourself,” I mumbled, enough for him to hear it. “That would be boring,” “Then, what about your friend?” I don't really remember his name, but his handsome face and looks were glued in my head. “Ford?” He chuckled. “He's too busy with girls to hangout with me,” he added. I smirked in secrecy. I knew it. I can easily tell in one glance that he is a bad boy and a womanizer. Oh, that jerk. “I don't have a choice, you're my boss.” I blew out a deep breath. “You won't do anything to me, aren't you?” I quickly gave him my sharp eyes. “Of course not,” he almost laughed at me. What he said was true. My lips parted and my eyes turned thin when I saw the place where he said we would have fun. “Seriously? You want to have fun in an amusement park?” I glanced at him unbelievably and he was looking at the rides around with his twinkling smile that speaks of his excitement. Yes, we're in the amusement park. How can I think that he would do something bad to me when he said that we would have ‘fun’? For god's sake, we would have fun in an amusement park. Since when did I have a dirty mind? “Hey, I want a headband! Let's buy it for us!” He exclaimed with excitement and quickly pulled me to the store where the people bought theirs. I didn't know that beyond Sean’s perilous authority, power, and handsomeness is a kid who was hiding behind it. “There are so many, which one should we buy?” He asked while being indecisive. I heaved a sigh and raised my brows before I grabbed the unicorn headband. “Try this,” I said and put it on his head. I laughed all of a sudden. Well, he looks like a bad boy right now but he's wearing this kind of headband. “Then, I should choose yours.” He said and came up with the crown headband. “Well, you look like a princess.” He uttered and chuckled as he wore it on me. “Are you a couple?” My eyes shifted to the lady who was selling the headbands. She was smiling from ear to ear while looking at us. “No,” I quickly answered. Disappointment ate her smile. “Really? But you look like a couple. You also look good together,” she chuckled. “Keep the change, then.” Sean said with a smile before he pulled me away from there. “So, what should we ride first?” He asked while he could not even stick his head to one place because of so many rides around. We can hear the people shouting while riding the most feared rides. But then, Sean captured my eyes again. I never saw this side of him. He looks happy, unlike the day he hired me. That day, I was sure that Sean was filled with heaviness— something was weighing him that he couldn't draw a fake smile at all. But right now, that smile was surreal. It won't fade easily, including the shining bright from his eyes right now. I wonder how rough the road he took all his life. He's rich, but he's not happy at all. “Is this your first time?” I asked. Maybe, I asked the wrong question. That smile faded a bit and I was able to catch his eyes. “No,” he replied. “It's my first time after that tragedy though.” That bright smile was replaced with a bitter one that speaks a long story of what this man had been through. “This is Celeste's favorite place. I've been here with her before she left me,” In one snap, it disappointed me. Of course, it's Celeste again. itsclarixassChapter 7 “Wait, Sean!” I exclaimed while chasing my breath. I paused from walking and sat on the bench. We just finished riding the roller coaster and we have been riding various rides since earlier. “Are you okay?” What's the matter?” He asked worriedly. I grabbed the bottle of water that we bought and drank it immediately. “I'm tired, I can't ride another one. It would be my death,” I uttered and shut my eyes firmly. “Well, you've been screaming in every ride we rode.” He chuckled, probably teasing me. “I'm not!” I exclaimed and moved my eyes away. “I…I was just having fun but I was not scared,” I reasoned out. Honestly, I was screaming because of fear. For pete’s sake, everything that we rode almost took my soul away— it's breathtaking! “You aren't scared? Maybe that's the reason why you were clenching my hand,” he heaved a sigh and glanced at his hand with pity. Gosh, it looks like a tomato with its redness. I bit my lower lip and had nothing to say anymore.
Chapter 8 “It's brand new, I never even once used that, Sir.” I said to my new neighbor who just moved here. “I can see that,” he was looking at the microwave and oven that he bought from me. He was scanning every part of it with a glimpse of joy in his eyes. Well, he hit the jackpot and I hit it, too. “Thanks, then. I'll tell my friends about the other appliances that you're selling,” he gladly said with a huge smile as he carried the appliances inside his apartment. “I'll appreciate that. Thank you!” I watched him close the door before I drew a huge smile on my lips as I began to count the money I earned. “You look happy,” “Fvck!” My heart almost jumped out of my chest. I had to shut my eyes firmly when I saw him standing beside me. I didn't even notice him there for god's sake! It's Sean Cohen again, wearing his normal look: a black suit. If yesterday he looks like a hot bad boy, right now, Sean looks like a hot billionaire. Well, he is a hot billionaire, i
Chapter 9 Third Person's POV “I'm leaving tomorrow for London,” Sean mentioned while he was drinking with Ford in the bar. That bar is for billionaire people like them. Unlike the others, it's quite peaceful there. “So? I don't care,” Ford replied and even rolled his eyes while busy typing on his phone. But then, when Sean didn't say anything, it made him pause. His eyes slowly shifted at him, and there he was, staring at the alcohol in front of him with his head traveling somewhere else. That was when Ford got intrigued. It's been a long time since he saw Sean being like this. “What's the matter, Cohen? Let me guess, it's a woman, right?” His brows raised before a tiny smirk appeared on his lips. He was right. Sean only shut his eyes firmly and drank the alcohol in his glass. He clenched his jaw while still bothered. “Is it your new secretary?” He asked again with a sigh. “I don't want to leave her here. I asked her to come but she declined,” Dahlia is totally d
Chapter 10 Third Person's POV “It's the new secretary of Mr. Cohen,” “I heard she saved the little boy,” Ford was on his way out of the company when his eyes were captured by multiple people outside the company. There was a commotion in front of the building, which made his brows cross. “What’s going on?” He mumbled. “What's her name again? Dahlia?” Ford was about to ignore whatever was happening, until he heard Dahlia’s name was mentioned by the people who were sticking their noses. “Excuse me,” he said and had to even push the other people in order for him to see what the hell was happening. His lips quickly parted as soon as his eyes landed on the woman on the road, covered with blood in front of the car. It's Dahlia. There was a woman beside her along with the little boy, holding a yoyo while crying. His world suddenly stopped. He was just talking to her earlier, and now, this happened. For a moment, it feels like a deja vu. He was losing his right mind
Chapter 11 My heart is racing. Did the world just stopped? Because the moment he locked me in his arms, I felt like our worlds paused for a moment. The warmth of being in his arms seems to vanish the aching of my entire body. It's like a magic that heals every wound I got from the accident. “I'm so scared, Dahlia… I was so fvcking scared that it might happen again.” My brows met while I was in front of his broad chest. I was not moving. I can smell his scent, now that are bodies are glued to each other. “I thought I will lose you again,” that moment, I was able to get the message. I quickly pulled him gently and even avoided those eyes. Suddenly, I remembered what Ford kept telling me. ‘Again’. He was not pertaining to me, he was pertaining to Celeste that he once lost. I don't really get why Sean sees me as Celeste, or even all the people around us. I am so befuddled about everything. The racing of my heart was replaced with a harsh squeezed after realizing that. I force
Chapter 12 Days after, I got discharged from the hospital. However, I cannot say that I am completely fine because of my left leg. Well, I could walk easily unlike before where I feel an excruciating pain each step that I make. There is only a tiny bandage on my left foot. “Not just his secretary. Is it not clear to you, Dahlia? He's telling you his intentions,” she kept rolling her sharp eyes at me and I can see how frustration was painted all over her face. I blew out a heavy air. “You don't understand, Charlotte.” “What do you mean that I don't understand?” Here she goes again, cornering me with those eyes of hers. I knew that she won't let me escape, unless I give her an answer. I bit my lower lip and chose to bring my eyes on the road outside. We are here again at the café near the company. I intentionally decided not to come early there in order to avoid Sean for the meantime. I'm not even sure why I am avoiding him. “Come on, tell me. I'm your best friend, Dahli
Chapter 13 I didn't regret asking Sean about Celeste. When he told me the entire story of what happened to her, I supposed, I was able to observe him keenly. I was right all along. The truth slapped me in one snap. There is no doubt that Sean Cohen is still madly in love with Celeste. “So, do you plan to avoid him?” Charlotte asked while we were at the mall. Today is my day off. I also asked Sean that I will take a day off as I want to clear my head from everything. I was hesitant at first, because I was not present for two executive days and then I asked to take a day off. But then, Sean allowed me. “I decided not to. Do you think I should avoid him?” I landed my eyes at her. “No. There's no need,” she replied. I simply nodded. My decision is to stay friends with him aside from being his secretary. Me and Sean bonded a few times and I will not deny that I enjoyed it a lot. I just realized that he's just naturally like that. Just like Charlotte, he's benevolent. “An
Chapter 14The next day, I made sure that I would not be late for work. I have to be productive, at least. At some point, Ford was able to clear my head slightly. Sean only sees Celeste to me, that's all. Perhaps, that's the reason why he sometimes acts like he has a deep intention when he doesn't. Now, I think he's just confused and being carried away. Still, I don't get it. Do I look like Celeste? It's not like I don't find myself beautiful; I am beautiful. It's just that, from Ford's description, Celeste is a perfect woman from inside and out. The reason why I don't understand how Sean sees her to me when Celeste and I are totally different. I mean, in what aspect does he see Celeste to me, right? “Dahlia,” I glanced at one of my neighbors who coincidentally saw me while I was locking my apartment. My face almost crumpled. Why do I have to meet any of them now? “Hey, how's pregnancy?” I faked a huge smile. Her name's Fiona, and I know her well. If the landlady is the source of
