Chapter 105 Second Wave

(Migumi’s POV)

Cyrus exhaled heavily, resting upon a tree whose bark is quite tough and dry. His face much changed with ghostly white panic.

I watched him impassively and with a hint of impatience on my face. We are racing against the clock; we can't afford to lose a second, but I still have to be careful not to break him too soon.

‘Here,’ I said, handing him a flask of water. “You need to drink.”

But the he was exhausted, and he lifted dull eyes to me. I could see it was difficult for him, but he eventually extended a shaking hand to accept the flask. He took ages to finish the drink; every gulp felt like a chore.

I stood back till he had ended, then knelt by him. “Cyrus, how do we get rid of Anthony. You are the only one who can help us.”

Cyrus exhaled out a hiss, looking between himself and the floor. “I… I am so sorry, Migumi,” he whispered. “I failed you. I failed everyone.”

His bitterness resonated within me, but I couldn't afford to let feelings get in the way of what we needed
