Everyone Knows me.
"As you all know, the training continues today and we won't be resting under the shades, some of you have been sneaking around and skipping training sessions. I won't mention names but I hope you avoid that at all cost, you shouldn't drag your teammates behinds and ivy? Please follow the rules." I raised my head as i heard my name, I thought he didn't want to mention any names. I scoffed hard and rolled my eyes. The outburst of laughter that followed made me glare at the chief. We were seated on the grass, asides how uncomfortable it made us, I got bored of all the instructions and rules. I preferred to be addressed by the Chief, Sir Surrey. At least he doesn't make it slow and unbearable.
"Twenty jumping Jacks, I heard all about you have been lazing around, really? Get to it. MOVE!" I don't even know his name, our trainers are always changed but for some reason, he knew me and my name, of course it's a given, everyone knows me.
'John' , that's his name, he was transferred. I hated training. I rolled my eyes and twitched my lips. He wasn't important anyway. But he was one of the officials anyway.
"Can we just jog instead?" I suggested with my arms laid back, everyone that groaned earlier on and twenty jumping Jacks, we aren't in kindergarten so, what's the point? And my legs are still sore from the last one. We are to be trained, not slaved around.
"Are you going against my orders?" John asked and everyone turned to me. I clapped my hands to dust off the sand and pebbles that I had gathered.
"No, I am making a suggestion." I replied to him without a pause, I didn't even think about it. I just needed to get the hell out of here.
"Okay, miss Suggestions. You lead the morning jog, Ten lapses for wasting time." I scoffed, was the show of power really necessary, I mean.
I stood up and everyone did, the little chuckle that they had only meant one thing, I gave them the bad eye.
"Follow my lead." I tutted as I said. The hint of anger was obvious in my tone.
"Ivy! And everyone else, you can halt the training!" The chief said as we were about to begin the morning jog. I tutted I had a plan to make sure that the team was organized and I could sneak out to rest or something. I needed to eat, my tummy grumble, I saw the training schedule for today and it's super easy to just sneak out and leave.
"Why?" Lily asked and I rolled my eyes, she always wants to be known. Even though she asked the question, she does too much.
"The Devil Alpha is on his way and we need to prepare and Welcome him!" The chief replied and everyone ran immediately. I didn't know who the man was. I walked along and I followed, I didn't run at all.
'Devil Alpha? Who the heck is that and why should we halt all that we are doing?'
"How are we to prepare for his arrival? Cook? Clean? I really don't understand how and why this is necessary!" I cussed as we were asked to move some tables and prepare the room where he would stay and for his dinner. I mean if he was just here for a visit, why should they care so much about that.
"It is necessary and all the maids are busy. You guys will do it and that's final. No more words. We are preparing the pack in wait for the Alpha." The chief said and it only made me fume, I couldn't understand why they ran helter-skelter and tried to make everything intact, they prepared the pack and did so much.
"What alpha and who is he by the way?" I asked but no one answered. They were caught up with the work, the doors were swung open. The rugs and chairs were prepared and dusted.
"Ivy, can you please do something? You are standing like a log of wood and we need workers. Can you please do something, take the trash out and don't ruin anything. When you do something I get scared, and even when you don't." He palmed his face and sighed, I saw his frustration and I didn't even care. I was unmoved, my eyes didn't blink for a second, I wanted to see how I was able to mess with him. I tried not to move my face but the smile that built up was something that could lead to laughter. I gulped and tried to maintain my cool. If anything I got the least of the work so I didn't take it up with him.
"The trash? Why not?" It's the funniest thing how easy my presence disturbs him. I looked over and everyone else who seemed tired, I just couldn't get why whoever the Alpha could make them work this hard like this. If anything, I just didn't like him at all.
I walked up to the kitchen, the aroma of the dishes prepared in his honor and how beautiful it looks. "This is too much for him." I said as I grabbed a drumstick and I tore it. I hadn't touched the trash yet so I had time to eat and enjoy what it was that I had stolen. I smiled and I chewed on the sticky, warm, sweet drumstick, it was coated with honey and breadcrumbs, the crispy sound made it all better. I should compliment the chefs.
"Ivy, are you busy?" I heard my name. I had the drumstick and turned around. "Yes. The trash!" I pointed as I replied to John.
"Okay, do that and be here. Okay? The Alpha is here already." I could see the tension he tried to hide, his eyes were baggy and his hair was rough too. I looked at him and I was sure he had yelled a lot of times and touched his hair.
I finished the drumstick and I took the trash outside. "Watch where you are going, will you?" I heard a cold and deep tone, I paid attention to where I was headed, but this jerk didn't. He had his head on his wristwatch.
He looked fake, he had too many designers on. Everything he had on was loud. He had on a gray fur coat and a rather plain and simple outfit, but the chains and the rings were just a no for me.
I saw him, he looked rough, his dark hair rested gently on his shoulders, his eyes shined bright and screamed out terror and horror. The blood that was splattered on his face, hands and his clothes all gave me the . He looked like he could make me melt with just one look. His chest was large and broad. His muscles were huge, I gulped, he looked like he could crush me with one hand, and he could kill me with the simplest of weapons. He looked gruesome, more than described. He could raise me up and crush my windpipe with just one hand. I gulped again, the scenes I had by staring at him gave me goosebumps but I shook the thought aside.
"You should watch where you are going. Can't you see?" I yelled at him, I didn't care who he was. He should know better and apologize to the lady.
"Excuse me, you are in the wrong here." He said with a sass.
"Of course, blame the lady. Please can you just walk by, I don't have time for the likes of you." I added as I pushed him aside and walked out.
“You should apologize to me, and I will do the same, we are both wrong here.” He said and I wondered why he felt he needed to lecture me on what I should do.
“I didn’t say you could talk to me.” I replied to him, my hands were getting heavy from the trash that was in my hands still, irritated? Yes I was.
“Calm down please, we can talk about it.” He said and I was irritated, I did try to be calm and just ignore him.
“I am talking to you, why are you walking away?” He touched me and I had enough of him. I dumped the trash on him, his presence alone made my tummy turn.
"Why are you touching me? Is that how you are? Don't ruin my day!" I said as I looked at him.
I hissed and ran away from him, I didn't even know who he was or what he was doing at that place. I just needed to be away from him.
"We can play the back and forth!" He said and I gave him the one finger.
Alpha JaxLater that evening. “You seem distracted sir, what is on your mind?” My beta Paul asked and I nodded no. I had my eyes on the lookout for the girl that had a lot to say, she dumped the trash on me, it felt hot and funny. I was attracted to just how crazy she was, she was just different. I need to see her, I need to know who she is and what she does. My attention span got short when i saw the pack walk in"Alpha Jax, it's an honor." The Chief said and everyone bowed, I paid attention to how everyone acted, they were respectful as they should, Except her. I glared at her and we shared eye contact"Is he the Alpha?" she asked the chief who had his head bowed. "Bow, you girl." He whispered as he pulled her trousers. Our eyes met again. "What?" She muttered with a sass as she looked at me. "He is the Alpha, show your respect to the devil's Alpha or you will be on toilet duty for as long as I am alive. Don’t dare me” He threatened and I smiled, she was about to bow when i spok
Chapter 3.Alpha Jax's Point Of View. The next day "Surprise, Surprise!" I said as I walked into Ivy's parent home. We had unfinished business and what's better, it would make me get closer to their daughter. I banged the door fiercely and got no response, I could smell the people inside, I heard both of their old and slow heartbeats. I felt their fear in the air around me. Even with their fear their hearts still weren't beating as fast. “I can feel you, your fears.. I can hear your heartbeats' I said with a loud voice, I laughed hysterically before kicking the door open. The loud bang that came with the force he kicked the door with shook the house to its hinges, he chuckled loudly and examined the main living room. It was painted in cream and chocolate with matching chocolate sofa chairs to complement the room’s color. The floor had wooden work and it creaked with every step he took. A large but old Television was set on a glass piece on the left wall of the building. Th
Ivy's POVI could not believe what I was staring at. My parents heads were hanging from a rope just in front of the entrance. I feel the tears fill my eyes and fall to my face. I remember the last time I saw them both, my dad telling me to be careful as always and my mom reminding me not to forget to eat, not knowing that that would be the last time I ever spoke to them and saw them alive. Who would have done this? I ask myself and my mind goes back to the letter and it instantly clicks in my brain. Alpha Jax. He was the only one that could be this heartless to murder two middle aged people, cut off their heads and leave them dangling from the ceiling. But why would he do such a thing? How did he know who my parents were and where they lived? What was his reason for murdering them in cold blood? I had so many questions and no single answer. I didn't know what to do and where to start from but after giving it a thought, I decide to call my Father's office and break the news to them, m
Ivy's POVImmediately Ron and I finished doing all the legal paperwork that had to be done at the mortuary, it was already so dark outside but I still wanted to go see the pack at that very minute and it was just because I was hoping to would into Alpha Jax and have a little, peaceful talk with him it maybe not. I had fixed my parents burial for the next day as I didn't want to delay their final rites any further and Ron had tried to give me a piece of his mind but I shut him up by telling him that the people at the force needed to realize that he is my Father before he is the sheriff of the town and if they had a problem with it then they should take up with me. We got out of the mortuary and immediately I stepped out, I took a deep breath in because the air in there smelt of dead bodies and it was not a nice smell at all. I walk to the car and entered while Ron went to the driver side and did the same,"So where are you going to sleep this night? You can stay over at me and Christy'
Ivy's POVI called Ron and ask him if it was okay to move back home but he said that the house was still under some investigations so it was best I stayed with him and Christy, although I already drove past the house and I saw that the investigation tapes have all been removed but I understand where he was coming from and in all honesty, I also did not want to stay at home ,all alone. My taxi pulls up to the front of their home and I can't get over how beautiful it was. It had been a long time since I was here and nothing had really changed yet it was still as beautiful as it had always been. As I was coming out of the car, Christy bursts out the front door and envelopes me in a tight hug even before I could say anything. She was a tall woman and she smelt of cinnamon and honey. She had this aura of making you feel so special and I remember how she used to be my favorite auntie when I was little. She was one of those women you definitely knew would make an excellent mother but the uni
Ivy's POVIt was early in the morning and I was already awake and getting ready to go to the office with Ron. I picked out an outfit I thought was suitable for the first day at work and it was a trouser suit. I came down to the living room and sat down waiting for Ron to come down so we can head out. I was nervous because I sort of already knew how majority of the people at the office will receive me and I dreaded it but I was prepared for whatever happened. I hear some footsteps coming down the stairs and I look up to see Ron fixing his tie"Good morning Ron" I greet him as I stood up from the couch I was sitting on and he looked startled to see me there"Good morning Ivy, I had no idea you were already dressed and down here. How are you? ""I'm good. I hope you slept well" I asked"Yes I did " he nodded"You really look like a madam sheriff with that outfit"he adds while looking at my outfit"Well I'm glad you approve, I was scared I was underdressed " I smile at him"No this is jus
After lunch with Ron where I ran over my day with him, I went back to the office and the day went by in a flash and before I knew it I was back home.Christy had cooked dinner and she made sure I ate then told me to go to bed when I offered to help her cleanup because I had an early morning tomorrow.I got to my room and take the piece of paper I wrote down my revenge plan and put it in a drawer where I knew it would be safe. My first plan on that list was to get as many people at the department to trust me and pledge their loyalty to me and I did not know how I was going to achieve that yet but I was sure that an opportunity was going to present itself to me soon. The next day,I decided to go to the office earlier than everyone even Ron so I had to take a taxi. I arrived and to my surprise some of the workers were already there and it made me wonder if they slept at all. I greet some people at the first segment and start heading towards the second segment when I hear growls and shou
Ivy's POVMy life nowadays has been home to office, office to home and in all honesty I was not complaining because I loved being sheriff. I had moved out if Christy and Ron's house and returned to my home and I was loving living alone. I had solved multiple problems and cases and although my way was technically not how most of the sergeants I've worked with thought the problem could be solved I proved to them time and time again that I knew what I was doing. A bunch of cases we solved were popular so they made it to the news and I had to be interviewed for some of them and just like that I was living my dreams. It was a Monday morning and I was feeling sluggish so I got to the office later than it was usual for me and I meet a pile of paperwork on my table that needed my signature on them and I try to put it off by doing any other thing than it but toward noon I start to find my energy back and I really get to start doing the work. I was already halfway through the paperwork when t
Ivy's POV As I stood in front of the mirror, my fingers grazing the delicate lace of my wedding dress, a rush of emotions swept through me. Today was not just any ordinary day; it marked a significant milestone in my life, a moment of redemption and triumph amidst the chaos that had once consumed me. Seeing my children walk down the aisle and read all their poems to me, melted my soul and it laid emphasis on how lucky I was once again to have the life that I have despite everything I had been through. The memories of the past years flooded my mind, transporting me back to the fateful day I first met Jax. I remembered his little nickname that sent shivers up the spines if people when it was mentioned, The Devil Alpha. His presence had initially brought nothing but destruction and sorrow into my life, snatching away my parents and leaving me bereft, broken and searching for revenge which led me into discovering many many things that true me off balance both physically and emotionally.
Jax's POVEverything was perfect. My life was perfect. My wife was perfect. She was the best thing that had ever happened to me in all my years of living. Our trip to Serenity Springs was perfect, in fact, too perfect, like something straight out of a fairytale. I could see why Ivy had always wanted to go there—it was truly magnificent. And nothing could beat our vow renewal ceremony. From the moment we woke up until the moment we fell asleep, the day had been pure perfection. As we boarded the plane back home, I couldn't help but relive the memories every single day. The images of Serenity Springs played like a movie reel in my mind, a constant reminder of the magic we had experienced there."I miss it already," I admitted to Ivy as we settled into our seats. "I wish we could stay there forever."She smiled, her eyes sparkling with nostalgia. "Me too honey. It was truly a trip of a lifetime and I can't wait to tell the children about everything"I pulled her closer, savoring the warm
Ivy's POVAs our vacation continued, one thing was very clear and it was that Serenity Springs had our hearts. The place was truly magical and sometimes I could not even believe it was real although I was in it. Our adventure continued, filled with laughter, exploration, and a deepening connection between Jax and me. Each day brought new adventures and experiences as we delved deeper into the heart of Serenity Springs. One sunny morning, we decided to embark on a hike through the enchanted forest that surrounded our cottage. The ancient trees towered above us, their leaves whispering secrets carried by the gentle breeze. We held hands as we followed the winding trail, our footsteps entwined with the rhythm of our hearts. We had dismissed the tour guide that I had contacted before our arrival just because we wanted to make it feel like a real adventure. discovering everything ourselves was going to be far more fun than someone else just taking us and showing it to us we thought and tru
Ivy's POVIt was so very thoughtful of Jax to plan a vacation for us as my birthday gift. As he presented me with an envelope containing the itinerary, my heart raced with excitement. It was not just a vacation; it was a chance to reminisce about our amazing trips in the past that I sorely missed. Jax knew exactly what I needed, and it was as if he read my mind.As I opened the envelope, a rush of anticipation filled me. Jax had planned a trip to Serenity Springs, a place I had always admired and longed to visit. It was said to be a place of pure enchantment, filled with breathtaking landscapes and a sense of serenity that could heal one's soul. I loved how he was so intentional about everything that concerned me and our relationship.Grinning from ear to ear, I knew I had to take charge and plan out all our activities for the trip. It was always my responsibility to find the fun things to do on these trips and I took pride in it. I couldn't wait to dive into the excursion possibiliti
Jax's POVEver since Ivy and I both officially handed the affairs of the town over to our children, I felt like a big weight had been lifted off my shoulders although I still usually went into the office on some days to see how it was going. Truly some habits die had and I was not being to hard on myself because that had been my life for so many years and now that it was time to change things around I was not going to lie and say that it was easy. The twins were managing the affairs of the town perfectly and flawlessly. It was not hard to see that they had really been paying attention to me when I was teaching them the affairs of the town all those summers ago and it was truly remarkable to see how well they had everything under control, both in terms of the overall wellness of the community and the thriving economy. The town's total revenue just kept doing numbers as days went by and it was a delight to witness it. They were truly doing such an exceptional job that it became apparen
Ivy's POVAs the town continued to thrive and flourish under the wise leadership of the twins, harmony and peace prevailed in our community as always and was the overall goal. It was fascinating to witness how they handled even the most difficult matters that arose yet with intelligence and empathy. What impressed me the most was the way they respected each other's differing opinions, always finding common ground for the betterment of the town. One particular day, as we all gathered at the town hall to discuss an upcoming decision, Luna and Felix found themselves on opposite sides of the debate. Despite their disagreement, they maintained a respectful and calm demeanor, allowing everyone to express their views. In the end, they compromised, incorporating ideas from both sides. It was a powerful lesson in effective leadership and collaboration.Sometimes I would find myself get so emotional as I saw them doing all these grown up things and handling matters so excellently because I stil
Ivy's POVWatching Felix and Luna take on the town's responsibility with such dedication and skill brought immense pride and contentment to my heart. It was as if every lesson their father had taught them over the years had shaped them into natural leaders. Seeing them handle the work effortlessly made me realize that I wasn't needed as much as I used to be. I could take rests now according to my heart's content.Felix, on his own seemed to have an innate ability to foresee any potential issues and find solutions before they even arose. He was meticulous in his planning, always a step ahead of things. Exactly just like his father and it showed in the smooth functioning of our town. The townspeople trusted him implicitly and relied on his judgments in times of need.Jax, although recovering quicker than anticipated, was still unable to work. Despite his condition, he took solace in knowing that Felix and Luna were there to maintain the responsibilities. And although Luna provided suppo
Ivy's POVAs Jax continued to heal little by little, it was without say that he needed all the time he could get to heal so as the Luna of the town and his second half,I found myself shouldering the affairs of our small town. Both his and mine and it was a task that required constant attention and decision-making, and it was becoming increasingly draining not considering the fact that I had already completely zoned out of my office chic era and I just wanted to relax and do the things that bring me joy. I mean that was the reason why I handed over everything to Jax in the first place but as we couldn't control fate, here I was again with more responsibilities than I had previously on my shoulders.Yet, I couldn't bear the thought of burdening Jax with my own worries when he was already going through so much. So, I tried to push through, convincing myself that I could handle it all even when I was crushing under the whole pretence because I had to do it for my husband, the kids and the
Ivy's POVJax had been steadily recovering from the aftermath of his accident, and I did everything in my power to provide him with the care and support he needed. Each day brought a glimmer of hope, a step closer to the restoration of his physical and emotional well-being. I was happy that he was at least finally figuring out and understanding the depths if his emotions and how powerful they were in affecting everything but just as we began to believe that the worst was behind us and everything was going to be back to normal sooner than expected, a cruel twist of fate cast us into a bewildering state of confusion and despair. One that made me to start questioning my faith in the moon goddess, which I had not done in a very very long time but it was all so overwhelming, I didn't know what to do anymore. One morning, I woke up to the gentle rays of sunlight streaming through the window, ready to face the day with optimism. If I had known how everything would have gone down the drain th
