Lila gets to the private beach house but is stunned by the scene she meets. There is an arrangement of rose petals into the words 'I'M SORRY'. She is quite impressed and also shocked that Levi was capable of pulling something like that just to apologise. When she had decided to come there, she was not sure what to expect.

However, standing there with Levi on the other side of the petal, arranging words, she felt her anger melt away. It was kind of cute and thoughtful for him to think of apologising in this way. She followed him with her eyes as he walked to her with a bouquet of yellow roses. He stood in front of her and pointed the bouquet at her. She did not know what to do or how to react, but she had never thought of turning down pretty flowers so she took them from him.

"Lila Carrington, I want to apologise," he began. She decided to finally listen to whatever excuse he had to bring up. She nodded, expecting more from him. "The truth is that though I am not in the country, I have a lot of work piled up for me, and my assistant keeps trying her best to reach out to me, and I have to go to one of the offices on the island to work from there."

There was no way to fact-check his explanation but seeing that he had gone through the trouble of setting up something as beautiful and thoughtful as the dinner in front of her, she had no idea but to believe him.

"Trust me, there is nothing else to it, and about last night, I lost track of time, and that was the reason I was late," he explained.

"I guess since you are apologising sincerely, its fine and its all in the past," she replied, taking up the roses to her nose and sniffing on them. "And a plus for you, you got some flowers and they smell so good," she added, and he lit up as if he was happy that he had made that choice.

"You know what yellow roses signify?" he asked, and she shook her head.

"Why don't you tell me?" She asked, feeling a bond between them and all of the anger she had pent up since last night finally washed away.

"Friendship," he whispered, and she almost laughed.

"Friendship?" she asked, narrowing her eyes. "Why are you giving me roses that mean friendship?" she followed up.

"I know that we are not exactly a real couple and our families have been at each other's necks for the longest time possible and it is only natural for us as their children to uphold and continue this fight," he paused and she raised her eyebrow curosu to where he was leading all of this to. "However, since we are stuck in this relationship, I thought of one way we can make sure that it is bearable for both parties: for us to be friends."

"Friends? Are you suggesting that we put aside our centuries-long feud and be friends?" She tilted her head. She had never thought that she would ever have such a conversation with a Beaumont in her life, but here she was. Considering accepting his offer, if they were friends, then maybe they could truly help each other.

"Yes," he nodded. She stroked her chin as she pretended to think about it. Would it pay her to be friends with him? What would friendship with him look like? Would it make it easier for them to act like a couple in public? "Well, what do you say?"

"Let's do it," she said, and he cheered quietly to himself, causing her to let out a brief laugh.

"That calls for a celebration," he announced, and she agreed with him. "Before we eat the meal, what about a hug?" he asked. She nodded and went in for it; she was already friends with him; what more could she be running from? They pulled apart from each other and settled at the table.

They spoke on random subjects as they ate the meal that Levi had prepared for them. As soon as they were done with dinner, they walked across the beach to get to the hotel where they were staying. Since Lila did not know the nature of the meeting she had been coming to, she wore a pair of heels, which were difficult to wear on the sand, so she took off the heels as they walked across the beach.

They could not shake off the feeling of newness that they both felt. It was going to be a phase of friendship because they knew it was going to be short-lived. As much as they wanted to be comfortable around each other, they knew they could not ignore the feud between both families for long.

"This is nice," Lila murmured as she felt her toes dig into the sand.

"It sure is."

"Since we are friends and we are going all out, I think it would be nice for us to do some of the things on this list," Lila said, taking out a folded paper from her wallet and handing it over to him."What is this?""A list created by my cousins and sisters for my honeymoon," she replied. She knew that her sisters and cousins had created a teasing prank for her, but since they needed activities to keep busy and they wanted to look like a real coup, what other things would they need other than something like that?"Oh, I see, and you want us to do the things on this list?" he asked, and she nodded."We can have fun while still portraying the in-love couple for the media," she replied. He did not see anything wrong with her suggestion, so he agreed."I think the first thing for the day should be breakfast.""I agree," she said, and they decided to go down for breakfast. Of course, with all of the paparazzi moving about, they would get photographed. Instead of staying at the hotel for b

Lila felt weird being in Levi's hadn for so long but she knew girls like that and that they were not going to leave until she acted. They woudl think that Levi was clinging to this woman and if they showed him that they liked him better then he might decide to come to them instead."Why are you doing this in public?" she asked throwing him a knowing look. She was flirting with him and she hoped that he woudl return the favour because in her head this was all to help him out."You know I can barely keep my hands off you even for a minute", Levi replied, and she had to admit he was quite an actor. With the way he spoke, she was almost convinced that it was real and they were not both acting it out. She looked at the girls, and they had a horrified expression on their faces; it was obvious they did not like the sight before them. She was expecting them to go, but it seemed like they wanted to see more, so she jumped back into character."You always say that and you know that people are w

Although Levi had told her to rest up, she could not bring her mind to do that; she needed to know what he was going to do and how he was going to do it. She also wanted to know how her father was, but she knew that calling him or her mother was pointless as Eleanor would refuse to tell her anything. She knew that her sisters were the only way to go and since Elizabeth was more mature, she was the one she decided to call first. Elizabeth did not pick up so she tried to call Victoria and it was the same case. She concluded that they were probably in the hospital and they did not want to pick it up in front of their parents. She kept on thinking of how she had ruined her father’s dream of getting Skyline just because she wanted to feel comfortable. Her father’s words rang in her mind as she paced in front of the bed. ‘You can sacrifice a little comfort for great gain,’ he always said to her, and she could see that it was true. She knew that her mother would frown on her having her cousins or friends over, so she was left to her thoughts all by herself. Since the honeymoon period was still extended, they could not go back to work just yet.By the time she got into the room that night, Levi had chosen a side of the bed and was already sound asleep. She had been still for a long time, just occasionally filling her mouth with the warm, bitter liquid. After a while, she felt someone sit beside her, and she could tell it was a familiar presence. She looked, and it was her mom sitting close to her. She mentally prepared herself for whatever it was that her mouth was about to say. "Are you okay?" There was no doubt that her mom loved her, but the way she acted every time was something she could not wrap her mind around. "Yes, Mom," she replied. She had to admit that
