The Meeting

MATHAIS POV

I have been following the all too familiar scent all night, I have masked my scent, perks of being half vampire half witch, and I am hovering an inch above the ground so I don't step on leaves or leave footprints.

I know I am being followed, I picked up the hint of Tea Tree and Lilly about an hour ago, but it doesn't hit me as a threat, I am also drawn to it like its all I need so I desperately want to meet her but first I need to finish the task at hand.

I watch as the man I've been following, also a hybrid, stops at a lake to have a drink. This is my chance, I know I have alot of strength but so does he. I need to be ready, I move and run at him, just as I get behind him, he turns, snearing at me, I instantly regret not being better prepared as I lunge at him, he grabs me and throws me over his head and into the water....

UNKNOWN POV

I am washing my face and having a drink from a lake when I get the strong feeling I'm being watched as I turn I see a vampire coming straight at me, I snear knowing I'm not your average wolf, and I can easily take him.

As he gets to me I grab him and throw him into the water, my flight or fight response is surprising me as it usually tells me not to fight but not this time. The vampire comes for me again and I let Kylo take control shifting into my wolf.

Kylo snaps at him, missing him by centimetres as he hits Kylo in the side "he's not a regular vampire Ky he has no scent be careful" I tell him as he lunges for the vampire again, suddenly a knife comes seemingly out of nowhere and plunges into the side of Kylo.

Kylo grabs the vampires arm and tears a large chunk out of it before collapsing in a heap, the pain too much to bear, he whimpers and everything starts to spin and goes black.

MATHIAS POV

The hybrid thought I was a normal vampire, exactly what I wanted, the knife ,which I had hidden in my back pocket, was ingrained with wolfsbane, I stabbed it into his side and watched as he collapsed and passed out from the pain.

I left the knife in the wolf's side, taking it out would remove the effects of the wolfsbane and he was strong, too strong for me to take on with the wound he gave me.

I give the wound a few minutes to heal, then I pick up the wolf, careful not to move the knife, and start walking. I need to get him somewhere that I can talk to him and find out why he is in my territory, and talk about why I'm following him.

I know I'm close to a cabin, several I have built in the largely wooded area and hidden with spells from the humans that occasionally wander around the woods looking for deer to hunt, but anyone who is not human can see.

I arrive at the cabin and place the stranger in the basement, specifically built to keep a wolf inside, it's a big room with wolfsbane around the windows and door, its also soundproofed. It's enough to keep the wolf inside and not hurt themselves.

I pull the knife out of his side and walk out, spelling and locking the door behind me. I need to give him time to cool down, I know he will be pissed about being tricked. and I need to find the source of the intoxicating smell that is still in my mind and nose.

TANSIA POV

I temporarily lost the scent around dawn deep inside the forest, which annoyed me, but I was picking up a new scent now of tobacco and rum, thinking my mate may have either disguised his scent or covered it, telling me he is more than likely a witch.

I can't help but be excited, I didn't want a wolf as a mate as they tend to be obnoxious and pompous, vampires tend to be aggressive and manipulative. but my parents taught me to always keep the mate bond.

I come upon a lake and it looks like there was a struggle, I can smell wolf's blood and the eucalyptus and peppermint is back but it's mixed with tobacco and rum, I'm worried now, maybe my mate has been hurt.

I can't see any blood other than the wolf's blood but I can smell vampire blood, I look around trying to find any sign when the smell of eucalyptus and peppermint hits me hard, Nova is going crazy screaming one word over and over "MATE!!!"

I turn, looking around the clearing for the source of the alluring smell, until my eyes fall on the most gorgeous man I have ever seen. he is at least a foot taller than me, dark brown hair and piercing blue eyes.

He is in a black polo shirt, black pants and boots, he is quite intimidating especially when he is just standing there staring.

His voice is hard and cold as he finally speaks "what are you doing out here?" "I, followed your scent, I, I had to meet you." I stutter, he seems annoyed with me for being here, it crushes my heart to see him so annoyed, every part of my body is begging me to be with him and he hardly cares. the pain is intense as he glares at me with pure hate in his eyes.

MATHIAS POV

I lock the cabin and head toward the intoxicating scent, every fibre of my being is telling me to take my mate, make them mine, never let them go but I need to stop them seeing the wolf I have locked in my basement.

I move quietly back toward the lake where I just fought the hybrid, seeing someone leaning down looking at something on the ground...blood. I can hear her heart rate start to rise, she's starting to panic, she has fire engine red hair flowing down her beautiful back stopping just before her luscious ass. She smells like tea tree oil and Lilly. this is it, I finally found her, I want to run to her, take her in my arms and make her and every inch of her body mine, I want to devour every part of her.

She stands up sensing me and slowly turns around, her eyes scanning rapidly, as her eyes lock on me I hold back the last that is growing in my pants, my mate is the most amazingly perfect creature in all of existence, her face is round, with a button nose and lightly speckled with freckles, her breasts are perky her body perfect in every way, the little red dress, barely covering her, looks oddly familiar, she has no shoes on.

When I finally get my voice working i ask "what are you doing out here?" my voice sounding cold and harsh "I, I followed your scent, I, I had to meet you." she stutters, making me feel like a dick for speaking to her like that.

"you need to leave" was all I could say.
