Doubt

TANSIA POV

"What are you doing down here?" his voice sounded more than angry. I didn't care , anger swirled around inside me I could sense the scent inside was coming from another hybrid like me.

I felt a pull toward the unknown and I felt anger that I'd never felt before. He was keeping someone prisoner, who the hell did I just give my virginity to? I wanted to rip his throat out but I instinctively knew he was too strong for me.

"who is he?" I finally asked "how did you know it's a he?" he retorted "I can feel a pull to him not like to you but something else" he looked as confused as I felt. I have my mate now, even though we are not marked yet but I could feel a pull to someone else, my head was starting to spin, i started to see little black dots, then everything went black.

UNKNOWN POV

I open my eyes slowly, straining to see in the dark, dammit, he got the drop on me. I can't stand witches or wizards they are a sneaky bunch. the pain in my side is incredible, the wound has healed, but im suspecting wolfsbane was somewhere on that knife, the pain still radiating after the wound has healed tells me that.

I don't know how much time has passed but I need to find a way out. I feel the floor around me, feeling for a wall or something to lean on so I could get up, I was weak God damn stupid wizard, I hate feeling vulnerable yet here I am feeling like I have a broken rib and completely in the dark in a cell.

Suddenly I get a strange feeling in the pit of my stomach, someone is close, not the witch, he'd been hunting me for months I knew he had no scent that I could smell, but im getting a hint of flowers and something else I can't put my finger on.

MATHIAS POV

I place Tansia on the bed, I'm not sure what happened, we were in the basement arguing and she fainted. I check her over and she isn't bleeding, there doesn't seem to be anything wrong with her. looks like she was just overwhelmed by everything that has happened.

I leave the room, making sure not to wake Tansia she needs to rest, something is off with her and when she wakes ill be finding out what. I head down to the basement, I need to talk to the hybrid.

I turn on the lamp inside the cell, making sure not to turn on the big light, don't want to blind him. there is a spell over the barrier of the cell so I know I'm safe outside the door, I open the door and watch the stranger get used to the light.

"I need to talk to you" I tell him matter of factly. "why the hell should I talk to you?" he is still pissed, should have given him more time but time is not on my side here. "What is your name?" I ask him "what's it to you?" he sure likes to answer with questions.

"who was in here a few minutes ago? besides you" he asks, I know the room is sound proof so I don't know how he knew Tansia was down here. "No one" I lie "only me now." he scoffed at me "you think I can't feel a presence when it's near?" "what is your name?" I ask him again.

"you expect me to talk to you, but you can't even tell me the truth?" he asks, I see this is going nowhere so I sigh and close the cell door, if he is going to come at me with that attitude he can stay there for all I care.

I relock the door and walk back upstairs I need to make something for dinner, I check on Tansia and see she's still asleep so I go to the tiny kitchen and start cooking, i set out 3 plates, one for my beautiful mate, one for myself and on for the hybrid in the basement, I need to feed him im not a monster.

I cook sausages, potato and vegetables, something quick and easy, I want to get back to Tansia, my entire body wanting to be back next to her.

I look at my phone for the time, it's 9pm, a little late for dinner but oh well, I put Tansias and mine in the oven and I take the Hybrids plate down to the basement with a glass of water, opening the small window I slip the tray and glass onto the ledge. "you need to eat" I tell him "what is it?" "sausages and vegetables" I reply as he starts to rise off the floor.

UNKNOWN POV

I rise from the floor, he could at least have a TV in here im bored shitless, "if you're going to keep me prisoner you should know I hate sausages" I look directly at his face trying to work him out. "I hate the word prisoner, you're only here until I feel comfortable you won't attack" he said.

"why would I attack you it's not like you stabbed me with a knife dipped in wolfsbane" I snap at him "the wolfsbane is embedded into the knife it wasn't dipped" he replies.

I look at him searching for something, anything that will tell me who he is, I don't get the feeling he wants to kill me so what does he want?

He sighs gripping the bridge of his nose. "I'm starting a pack" he bluntly replies. I stare at him dumbfounded "you're what?" "I'm starting a pack" he repeats "of outcasts and hybrids" "why the hell are you coming to me?" I ask completely shocked.

"In case you haven't noticed we are not the same species and you have me prisoner but im assuming you're asking me to help you." "I know that" he replied "that is why I have you in here, you wouldn't give me a chance to talk to you so I had to improvise, give me an answer and I'll let you out." "why so you can kill me?" I say sarcastically.

"I have no interest in killing you, if I did I would have killed you in the forest." he replies "what if I say no? then what?" "then you go on your merry way and I look for my next hybrid" I have no clue what to say but something is telling me to trust him, "what is your name?" I ask "Mathais" he replies "and yours?"

"Elijah" I reply. "come up when youre ready" he says "the spell is down, you can either leave or help." with that he leaves the door open and walks up the stairs.
